Honestly if you’re new and want to sit down the last seat may not be available. If you are interested in playing and are willing to receive guidance just ask. Most of the players are very friendly. Heck even the dealers will help if you ask. OTOH if you want to muddle your way through and make a bunch of bozo plays some players may get up and leave. You are correct it is your hand to play.

Completely fair question. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than sitting at a full blackjack table when everyone plays "right". I could be wrong, but everyone's odds are better in this case. I am a rule follower, so I try to play by the rules of the game. I guess I twitch just a tad when blatantly obvious bad plays are made. This is my problem and no one elses. That said you are absolutely correct. They are their hands to play. I just don't have to stay and suffer the downstream consequences, therefore I don't.

I retired July 1st from a private medical practice. I now work 7 days a month (I choose my days) so I don’t lose my mind. After 28 years of 80-100 hour work weeks it took a while to figure out my new life. I now have a bunch of cruises booked so I’m getting there! Yay me!

Are there no more St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Grenada, Antigua itineraries? Or were those only out of SJ. I can't remember. I would love to hit some of those islands again.

@Saint Greg I am looking at going on my first solo cruise ever and going out of NOLA because of a great rate. I am looking at this hotel. Is there any reason I shouldn't feel safe to walk around in the area alone? I generally have my head on a swivel but I don't want to be stupid.

Same here. Same cruise. Did they offer for you to switch from premier to ultra or did you just see it in the offers? My premier offer is much better than the ultra.

I use my apple watch. I just go into General-date and time-turn off set automatically and select the correct time zone when I walk on the cruise ship. Then when the time changes, I just change it in my phone. When the cruise is over and I am on land, I go back in and turn set automatically back on. This has worked for me for years.

I have the same observation on the Vista. Staying on 15 and 16 with dealer 10 showing. A couple of these guys were playing $50 and $100 a hand. I couldn’t take it and walked away.

While this is not the Diamond freebie, I recently cruised with my grandkids and did the steakhouse twice. So as not to miss out on a sold out venue, I booked and prepaid for 8 of us. All of the kids were refunded on the night of our dining so they are used to having to do this. (3 of the kids were in a suite with me and theirs were free).
