  1. I am US based and work with a Seabourn PCC. If there is no promotion going on, he can usually offer a $300 OBC and then I tack on my shareholder benefit for more OBC.
  2. Hi Hope thank you for remembering us! We have a few cruises upcoming but they are all in the Caribbean. I’ve been having some health issues so we are staying closer to “home”. We remember fondly our COvation, The Holiday Cruise! I agree with you about certain items at the TK Grill but we understand the menu has changed slightly. We will be on the Quest in November so hopefully will get to see. We will be back on the Ovation in the spring (as much as we hate the Barbados embarkation port). I hope you enjoy the new ships. A casino is kind of mandatory for us - I am headed to Vegas next week to “rescue” the money I left there in June! All the best!
  3. I believe the expedition ships have neither a TK Grill or a casino. That makes it a big NO for us.
  4. I laughed out loud! We are packing for our 2 weeks in Norway - 2 carryons and 4 large checked bags that will each have to be weighed so as not to exceed the 70lb weight limit! I don’t travel light!
  5. Agree, very strange. I am also an early riser and learner that sign is meaningless (closed from 12am to 6am). Their “maintenance” takes 15 min. I usually get to the machines between 5am and 5:30am - never any staff there and I usually get to see the hotel director as his office is directly across the hall. What irritates me is the number of people who leave their laundry in the dryer overnight (“oh, just put it in and go to dinner - no need to worry about it to the next day”).
  6. We don’t do most of those special menus - not Chef’s night, not rib or Indian night in the Colonade. We can make do ate E&O or the TK grill. We like Seabourn but are not crazy about their food - cruise is always a diet for me!
  7. Thank you for confirming we thought there was not enough room on the front of the ship
  8. That sure sounds like a dry dock. One of the features Seabourn removed from their website is the ability to search for “unavailable” cruises - you could see if it was sold out. Seabournis not very transparent about dry dock schedules or private bookings.
  9. No kidding when we had Motel 6 bathmats, I was very disappointed
  10. Gray!?! wow, I can’t wait! sorry, I keep editing my post on the FB group, a gray, fluffy bath at would be picture worthy!
  11. yes, we spend time in our suite and just like more room we do the same when in a hotel - I want 1 1/2 baths! Truthfully, I could not spend one night in a standard suite! we did a very short cruise in a Penthouse suite and were ready to leave after an hour! Everyone’s wants and needs are different the towel situation is like the bath mat situation though I understand from a FB group that bath mats are being rectified!
  12. Please don’t flame me for this, it is just my observation and how we chose to sail. We stay in the premium suites - Owners Suite or Signature Suite and have recently been doing the Wintergarden Suite as it is mid ship. Those suites always have the nice, big fluffy towels (and different bathrobes). I did not realize they were segregating towels by suite size!
  13. How long is that excursion? Seriously, I could get my husband to do that
  14. Only refundable OBC can be used in the casino if it is non refundable, like the kind you get from owning stock or a booking incentive, those dollars can not be used. once you are on board and your Source app is tied to the ship’s internet, you will be able to see your folio which will show you how much OBC you have and what category it is
  15. They provide the same bottles but smaller they leak and break easily
  16. Agree it is worth it Fortunately, we get included in our suite category do you use an Apple laptop?
  17. @Mr Luxury, can we add food and booze at the Patio as an answer! That is where we go - gotta get to know those bartenders first thing!
  18. @SLSD, Seabourn’s IT is not their area of strength! While most love to board the ship and go to the Colonade for lunch, we prefer to go to the patio bar and meet the bartenders! Inevitably, we end up being IT support - helping other passengers get their devices connected - great way to meet people. We had to reconnect our devices multiple times a day. If you are having issues, try going to the Source and reconnect - it is a pain but usually solves our issues. Sometimes their satellite signal is just too weak - I’m curious what will happen once you get in the fjords. Our Panama Canal cruise in Dec 2021, we had no internet for 8 hours or so.
  19. Thank you for doing this @SLSD It feels like 2019 when I followed your thread prior to our first Seabourn cruise! can’t wait for your updates If you have a chance, can you take pictures of the daily Herald? We don’t plan to get off much but plan to enjoy the scenery from our large balcony at the front of the ship! Would love to know what the daily routine is - not expecting much as it seems everyone will be getting off on tours We sail the same itinerary - 2 weeks starting July 9th we are staying at the Copenhagen Marriott for 3 days prior thanks again
  20. In 2019, we had a shuttle in Juneau because we were at one of the more remote docks. Last August, we were front and center so no shuttle. We were disembarking and embarking passengers so I think that played a role of where we got to dock.
  21. Not only do these bottles leak, they break easily. We dropped one while ashore in Cabo and it shattered. I also don’t care for the taste but each person must decide on their own. There will be 2 or 3 bottles in your suite when you board - they are in the cabinet with the glassware.
