  1. It seems that almost everything surrounding an Atlas voyage remains a mystery until you actually get there - but does anyone know where they dock in Venice? We will be on the Traveller in June.
  2. Voyage ID WTR240614 Are there are going to be excursions coming for Ancona, Italy and Durres (Tirana), Albania? They have none listed in the Atlas brochure. Thank you AOV Communications 🙂
  3. I find the Atlas shore excursion brochure to be confusing. Also lacking information. For our upcoming Mediterranean cruise in June this year, there are 2 ports that have no excursions listed at all. What am I to make of that? Should I just be planning my own itinerary?
  4. I am considering a Mediterranean cruise with Atlas this summer. Their website doesn’t give as much information as other cruise lines. So: - Do they have an airfare purchase program? If so - is it helpful or not so much? - Cruise stops in Venice - does it actually dock in Venice or farther away, as many ships do now? - Has anyone experienced a pre or post extension in the Mediterranean? Worth it or no? Thanks for any advice.
  5. How does one follow up with the Hotel Director about an issue? How do you contact them?
  6. We visited Geiranger on a Viking cruise a few years ago. Check their itineraries. Loved it in Geiranger!! ❤️
  7. QR has the cabin and deck indicated.
  8. Re: QR code. I only have one showing in my app, with my name. None for my husband. Is the QR code for both of us? But it sounds like it might not matter anyway.
  9. I see tokens required for washing. What about the dryer? Separate token for that??
  10. Traveling soon on Sapphire - regular balcony cabin. Is there any kind of shelf in the shower to hold personal shampoo/conditioner /razor? A bar of soap if I bring one?
  11. How does a person know they are talking to Viking’s LA office? When I call from Minnesota- am I calling LA? I’ve never had any kind of difficulty when dealing with Viking but I’ve never had to try and wrangle vouchers or other financial issues. What specific kinds of problems have people had with this LA office?
  12. Yes indeed. I found the health care in Spain was excellent - at least the hospital I was at.
  13. After departing our Viking cruise last April I ended up in a hospital in Barcelona. (Not Covid related) Even hospital patients are fed on Spanish time! Breakfast around 9:30 - lunch around 2:00, a snack at 5 and dinner at 8 PM!! 😀
  14. ??? According to the official Canadian government site it still says: take a pre-embarkation COVID-19 test before embarking on a cruise ship that will dock in Canada at any point in the itinerary.
  15. We stayed at Hotel Regina which is right next door to Hotel Pulitzer. Small hotel but lovely people - nice location. The staff helped me get to a hospital in the middle of the night when I became ill. 😊 Loved this hotel.
  16. For our upcoming cruise in August our dining reservation window opened (DV6 cabin) on June 24. MVJ just kept say “Reservations not open at this time. “ This went on for days. Someone in our rollcall finally contacted Viking and was told that all the reservations had already been taken by the higher ranking cabins. So no advance reservations for those of us in steerage. Very irritating when Viking seems to promise to provide access to specialty dining before the cruise. ☹️
  17. I don’t understand - if you are traveling independently why would Viking be responsible to get you to the ship?
  18. But can we assume if someone actually gets sick with Covid on the cruise - the quarantine process will continue?
  19. Below are the types of Covid tests at Walgreens. PCR meets pre-travel testing requirements. The NAAT test meets MOST pre-travel testing requirements. Before our cruise in March I called Viking specifically to ask about Walgreens NAAT test and was told Viking would NOT accept it. Maybe things have changed? PCR Laboratory Test ● Results typically available within 48 hours² ● Meets pre-travel testing requirements Rapid NAAT Test ● Results available within 2 hours ● Meets most pre-travel testing requirements; check with your destination to verify
  20. I have only been on ocean cruises but have been looking at a Viking river cruise in Europe. There seem to be many with a hotel stay of 2 days before you get on the boat and another 2 days off the boat at the end. These are stays in hotels and only breakfast is included. After ocean cruises, with ALL meals included, this strikes me odd to have to pay for more meals while on the cruise itinerary. Is this common among cruise lines?
