Good morning and Happy Sunday! Lots to do today before we fly tomorrow. We had an early dinner at a Mexican restaurant yesterday for our almost DGD, Amaya, who is 17 today. It felt like a late lunch actually. We tried to order light but that’s hard at a restaurant. I had cleaned out the refrigerator and took two bags of groceries to our DS and almost DDIL. I had no idea I had that much fresh food in the fridge. I didn’t feel like doing much when we got home so today is crunch day. Packing should be fast since I have everything set out. Eva @superoma, thank you for your recipes and for taking over for Debbie while she enjoys her cruise. Paul @kochleffel, thank you for the info about absinthe and for helping Dixie @summer slope while she enjoys her cruise. I have seen absinthe served on TV and some bars make quite a production out of it. I’ll pass on the meal. I’m sure it’s tasty but it’s just not my cup of tea. We are having leftovers and whatever is leftover after that goes in the trash. It’s going to be so nice not cooking for 3 weeks. I remember the Challenger explosion vividly. I was at home with DS who was just 4 months old and a neighbor told me what happened. I was fixed to the TV after that. I went to Puntarenas last April on the Volendam and will post some pictures separately. It’s easier on my iPhone and right now I’m on my iPad. Pennie @Nickelpenny, we tried to get another picture of Mt Lemmon yesterday. Still not the best and that silly palm tree had to be in the way of the snow! This is taken near the Hilton on Broadway. Even the Rincons had lots of snow. Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon! What a long day with DM today but we got a lot accomplished. Much needed pedicure being the priority followed by DM’s hair and then lunch with our friend Kim (as in Crawford). Not today’s wine though which is a low calorie and alcohol wine. I would love to try it but have not seen it anywhere. @erewhon have you seen it or tried it before? I probably will be the only one celebrating dental drills because I wouldn’t be where or who I am without them since my DD DF was a dentist. I tried to get a picture of the Catalinas today but couldn’t get a clear shot. This picture was from the parking lot as we left after our pedicures. It’s hard to see the snow because of the clouds but it’s between the two sahuaros. (Oops, sorry, between the sahuaro and the traffic lights). Later I tried after dropping DM off. Hard to see because of the Hilton in the way. That much visible snow doesn’t happen often. I’m sure Mt Lemmon is happy. Pennie @Nickelpenny, the meme about Hawaii was hilarious! Thinking about your friend’s baby and praying he grows strong. Bruce @aliaschief, your memes today were hilarious too and please keep up the food pictures and the menus. I look at the menu and then match the food picture. Yum! Have a good afternoon!

Hi Rich! Just now catching up with your Live posts. Your cruise sounds really Grand! I’m enjoying following along. It appears that they are offering a different MDR Lunch menu than the standard one, but I’m sure that’s because it’s a Grand Cruise. I also noticed a Crew Dish on several menus which is nice. Continue to enjoy!

Forgot to mention several things in my earlier post, got sidetracked. Yesterday was my injection day. Either I messed up or something was wrong with the pen and it didn’t inject properly. I immediately called the company, of course I freaked out first because I only had one left and it is for the cruise. After talking with the specialist and then a pharmacist I was told they would overnight 2 pens. Sure enough it arrived so I’m relieved about that. I had no problem with the new pen I used as a replacement. Whew. Tomorrow I’ll be late posting (again!). Taking DM for pedicures and then her hair appointment then lunch. Saturday is a 17th birthday dinner for our almost DGD. They wanted to go on Sunday and to a restaurant on the other side of town, an hour away. Oh dear. I think our son realized how stressed out I was about that and offered Saturday on our side of town as a substitute. Another Whew! I think they will still have the dinner on Sunday for the other relatives. I had a coupon for $15 off $50 at Ulta and bought her some Eau de Parfum (isn’t that a fancy word for cologne?). I’m happy about that!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and him as you go through this process. Blue had his dental scaling and paw-dicure today so I got little else done. He’s very needy afterward. Annie @marshhawk, about the pork roast. Personally, I’m not a fan. I made it once for Christmas and overcooked it and I think it had been injected with brine, like those tenderloins you wanted. Anyway, what I would do is cut them into steaks/chops, marinate them and then cook like you usually do pork chops. One of my favorite marinades is https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/grilled-pork-chops-8030692 and I also like this one https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sunny-anderson/easy-grilled-pork-chops-recipe-2106547 I have grilled and pan fried them and like them both ways.

Oh dear poor thing! Funny, but Blue doesn’t get too freaked out about stuff like that except for people outside the house, but Craig will take him outside to check the person out so he gets familiar with them. Mostly people working, like our yard guys.

Joy, I forgot to add something to my previous post. Oliver is the absolute cutest thing ever!! He’s such a poser and you can tell he is much loved. I wish I could squeeze him!

I don't do many cocktails, I'm always just a SB (preferably from New Zealand) wine kind of girl. However, this one is nice and enjoyable once in a while. I'll join you and Lenda and hopefully Dixie will too.

Thank you Vanessa, I did read that but am just concerned. I am just very cautious at this point since I just started treatment. I don't want to regress in anyway. This has been a tough road and I am just now seeing a very, very slight improvement.

I was thinking the same thing! I actually order it several times during a cruise. I find it light, sip-able and very enjoyable.

Good morning and Happy Thursday. I woke early today and will try to go back to sleep soon. I thought I posted on yesterday’s Daily but I think it just seemed like I did because I posted late on Tuesday’s thread. I got some more cruise things done. Craig got his flu and RSV. I’ve decided to forgo vaccinations right now because the biologic I’m on has safety precautions regarding them. Thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers for the link to today’s port. We were in Newport on our wonderful Canada/New England cruise from New York to Quebec City in August 2009 on the Eurodam. DM was along for that cruise and we three had a great time. The day we were in Newport DM & I took a tour to the mansions and Craig went on a walking tour. He had the camera and since this was pre iphones I have no pictures of the mansions. The church where JFK and Jackie were married in 1953. On our mansions tour we saw the sprawling estate where she lived when she was younger (from a distance, not inside). Craig's tour didn't go inside the church but he did get this outside view. The day had turned cloudy.

Good evening. I was finally able to reach a supervisor at Captel who approved the replacement of DM’s phone. First thing he said to me was that he saw how many times I had called over the last two months. I estimate that I’ve spent 5 hours on phone calls to customer service. Now I just hope it arrives in time for Craig to install it prior to our cruise. DM is getting anxious about certain things before our cruise with the phone being one of them, wine and pedicures are two more. @1ANGELCAT, I am so sorry about your friend’s fall. He must be in a lot of pain even though he didn’t break anything. I’m hoping for a quick recovery. I got some things done for our cruise, mostly for Blue. His dog tags are due while we are gone so I needed to get that done. And I emailed a current vaccine record to the pet resort. I am splurging on a deluxe room without a doggy door. I think the other dogs upset him. I also canceled a tour that we decided we didn’t need and booked some specialty dining. I hate booking specialty dining ahead of time because sometimes I just don’t feel like it but penciled it in anyway. Plus Craig’s vehicle tags are overdue. I don’t know what is happening but we didn’t get a notification. I did notice that the DMV had a wrong email and I updated that. Anyway our DD is currently borrowing the car so she’s going to have to take care of the emissions test. My skin rash is still a problem and I’m hoping that the biologic kicks in before we sail otherwise I might have to cancel a few tours. It’s a wait and see thing now. I did order a nifty injection pen cooler that holds two injections for the cruise. This will be a new traveling experience. Have a good evening!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday. I woke too early today and am tired, and now it’s too late to go back to bed. I’ll just take an early nap. I like spicy food but if it’s really spicy it’s sometimes hard to enjoy the flavors. I’ve never had chard that I’m aware of. I’m thinking about making a bean and chicken casserole with biscuits. Yesterday was salmon and lingcod grain bowls. I forgot how much I like farro and need to make it more often. The lingcod was delicious. I’m getting a bit tired of salmon so made mine with that. Debbie @dfish, on my last cruise, the Volendam in April, late fixed seating was 7:45 but I always went right about 8:00 with no problem. I searched around and couldn’t find anything about our cruise. @Haljo1935, do you remember what time late fixed dining was on your cruise? Even though I don’t feel like it I’ve got to call the caption phone company for my DM for the 5th time. Long story but it hasn’t been taking voice messages. Have a great day everyone!

Good evening from chilly Tucson. It’s been so cold lately and I’m a wimp in the cold. However, it’s going to warm up a bit this week before it gets cold again. I had my final post op Friday with the cataract surgeon and she said everything looks fantastic. I told her that it was a miracle and I don’t use that word lightly. Thank you @0106 for today’s recipes. I also love white lasagna but not with squash. Debbie @dfish, I’m glad you are back online. Dixie @summer slope, sorry to hear about your BCC. @sailingdutchy Bon Voyage! @tupper10, I don’t have any ideas for you about your DM other than to make sure she doesn’t have any more checks. I do all my DM’s banking and bills also but all but a few are on auto pay. She does have one set of checks to use as family gifts like Christmas. I don’t know how old your DM is but does she still drive? It might be hard to restrict her spending if she has access to her bank. Joy & Allen @Seasick Sailor, safe travels home! Have a good evening!
