I think the 'no ports" is a key.  If there is an outbreak, minor or major, there would need to be no shuffling of the itinerary.

No way we are sailing unless vaccinations are required.

Interesting that you will not sail unless vaccinations are required.I just said that To  my agent today. So far only Crystal  has said that. We were talking about a booking on a family cruise. Her answer more or less that not everyone could get the vaccine by then. Really! By this summer I would think all adults in NC and other states could  get it. Some states now I know adults who are the 40 to 60 range are getting their shots.

I think Europeans may have some limited options but from the USA you need to complete quarantine so much less likely.  No one can travel here yet beyond a few miles so who knows.

As bad as ststes is we seem to be ahead on vaccines compared to other countries. As the crew needs theirs fir anyone to sail.

at this point Give a beach, water and a room..come back two weeks later and bring vodka.  I just do not see anyone sailing before Oct.

Thanks for the info - we have booked 9000 and looking forward to the experience.  Here’s hoping by Apr 2022 the world is in a “better” place!  It’s been hard trying to stay safe but soon I receive my second shot and will have some piece of mind.

It is a great bathroom just go with the storage flow.also you have your own private door to spa area

I think the timing of the trip up and back depends on the tide, so it's different each time.  We were scheduled to do this on Quest several years ago with Captain Carl, but we had a mechanical in Gibraltar the night before and had to wait for a part to be flown in.  We missed our tidal entry into Seville which was to be an early morning sail-in, and docked in Cadiz instead.  Seville was supposed to be our Azamazing Evening with Flamenco, so they brought the dancers to the ship.  The crew did a fantastic job rearranging all the shore excursions and providing buses for anyone who wanted to go into Seville, which I don't think they normally would do if docking in Cadiz.

I think Captain Carl was the most upset about it.  I saw him at the buffet, and he told me that he'd been selling that cruise to anybody who would listen for three years because of that sail in.  It was a wonderful itinerary, but to him that was the biggest draw of the cruise.  I'd love to give it a try again sometime.

He was on another cruise talking about it.With all the places he has travel he had never sailed into Seville.I remember reading the River had been cancel but had forgotten why. I skipped dinner and just enjoyed  deck 11 for hours.everyone left And I had the  landscapes  to myself

I have been in 9000 several times. There are four closest but two,are useless..not deep enough for hangers I store the extra pillows etc. from bed in one. Lack of storage.but the bathroom makes up for it.lots if counter space, great shower and tub, but I hide my folded clothes where ever.

yes, I have booked again. Smell not in cabins but hall..I use my oils on the carpet by my door  and it helps. But cabin is very quiet. An extra walk for butler so if I am calling I have my lost so no extra trips for him.

  7. I did it on JR. Taxi's I walked all day the first day.second day went across the road to a park and got my hour walk in there.

     What ac great city.

  8. As someone very active in theatre I realize crew are not the only ones not working. But theatre people can do online theatre. Crew ..well the ones I know are selling food.

as far as vaccines my government is clueless. Each state doing their own thing. So one state 65 and  over and another state 70 or 75 and older.

meanwhile I seem to know people who are refusing their vaccine..yet  I will go ASAP.

Where are they planning to get their vaccines?  I hope not from the limited American supply.  After all, crew members can hardly be called a member of a critical group such as health care workers or public safety personnel.

    DON

If crew can not get vaccine then Thry can not work. No,work..no money..no money they lose their homes.so yes they are a critical group.their lives are at stake,

  10. My India tour company refused  to help out. Agreed no money could be the cause but it was my money. My retired travel agent step in and got thru my Ins major $ back.

for future cruises I will watch which companies I use until I know we have more freedom to travel.

  11. I never knew the bar was added, sailed on an R class Princess ship and an R class  Oceania and there no bar. Never missed it,seems the R class was built one way  and we changed it.

also Princess or someone added a bathroom to the venue we now know as Living Room. That is a huge plus as I sailed Tahiti on that ship under two flags.

Robin what we did and were covered for before is not the same as today.

I have an excellent annual policy which is far more generous in terms of coverage than many.  Last year it covered claims relating to Covid cancellations, now that cover only exists for claims on reservations made before September 2020.  You have to watch the small print when making new bookings- your current ones may be covered, the future could be very different and the OP was talking about the future.

I was considering South Africa bookings and on exploring insurance couldn’t find anyone offering coverage for cancellations due to Covid now in that part of the world.  You are back to relying on the cruise or tour operators policies and whether at the point of asking for the refund they are financially able to pay.  Hence only pay by credit card.

Ann, the travel ins I use us a big company in the states.I got a huge amount back whwn my WC was cancel for a flight I paid for vs the one I wad to take home from Europe. Plus money back for missing a land tour in India in spring , if 2020.

Then I had medical while in Cabo abd They paid that.

now no one knows if we will cruise in 21 or not. So pre cruise Athens  I have a company for airport pick up, hotel pick up. No money yet but as of now I can cancel five days before. Well, I would hope AZ cancels by May fir summer.

The  other company base is Canada but is known world wide. Their policy changing this week but still  after I would know if cruise sails. The hard part is missed ports.

weel, I miss Shanghai due to weather and I got my money back.

so in the end to me is how willing you are to chance the tour or cruise.

Also I am sorry your UK agent is not as fair as They should be.good way to lose business.

  13. I do not want to disagree here. But I use good trip ins and so far my ins has paid me back for  land tour, flights and medical .

at this point I do not not believe I am sailing in July but I still need flights,,hotel and transportation . They all will pay me back. If not ins will. My fall cruises  the same..

I have no idea what people pay  but it helps.

I would be surprised. My wife is getting her second vaccination on Friday. I am hoping to have the opportunity to get vaccinated with a first shot in February or March. The only timing concern I have is with my daughter since she won’t be 16 until March and at this point only eligible for 1 of the vaccines.

As you live in Maryland  I am not up on the laws there. But I do know so far no one under 60 got it in any state unless in medical. So not sure why a child would get it before someone 70 who is waiting l

  15. There no need to change deck 8. That a waste of MONEY! Always thought deck,8 should be all suites like Princess which I sailed  and Oceania. Never been a problem getting into dinner. t pool rarely go  and when I do it around 6 at night.
