We just keep moving on to the next! Actually the letter we received says the Breeze will start sailing the Caribbean in May. If that happens and we have received the vaccine we will be on board!

Hmm..I had fun last year .. pre hurricane season but ready to cruise..vaccination first,

  2. I love NYE on the ship but this is the night to spend the money and be in the city. Look at events at the Opera House for dinner and fireworks ,

I  have been to KI twice.  Once staying there.froze to death.anither on a cruise ship by tender. Did not tour and very hot.

Melbourne is the gardens and the Victoria Market.

I called Azamara yesterday, they said they don't do the Caribbean.  The reason they have Caribbean sailing in 2021 is because of the Covid reboot.  We can't book in November of 2021 because we already have 2 cruises booked for Jan of 2022, on Celebrity.

Did carribbean  on them. ABC,Cuba etc. so they have. Many times ship arrives from Europe and does   Carribbean then moves tomS America

Thanks everyone, excellent tips! I will plan to do the hop on/off bus in Barcelona, train to Pisa, and caves in Gibraltar. Also, like the fish & chips idea.

For some reason fish and chips is the food to eat. Some places are better than others. Which is normal.  Saw like ten place at least ..

you will also see the tiny airport where they stop.cars to let planes land. Another once in a lifetime.

never did the hop on bus in  Spain but private tours..but wander after them to see more, please no jewelry there and really watch your purse. At dinner I had to hold mine while I ate .,everyone was being careful.

Wonderful tips, most of the ports are new to us. We've been to Italy, Monaco, and France but never to these locations.

    • Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
    • Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
    • Marseille (Provence), France
    • Barcelona, Spain
    • Gibraltar, United Kingdom
    • Lisbon, Portugal

As of now, we are tentatively booked at a new Doubletree in Rome for (2) days pre-cruise...also contemplated the Waldorf. I am surprised by the prices and how much the rates bump up for the 3rd person.

In Portugal, we are tentatively planning to stay at the Penha Longa Resort out in Sintra for (2) nights. We are using Marriott points and seems like a very good deal for a Ritz Carlton. The downside is it is out of town.

I am interested in any feedback on ports (do we have an advantage with location due to smaller ship size), hotels, and things to do. Very preliminary stages of planning, and we are prepared for the possibility of being cancelled, but the rates and flexibility gave us the confidence to give it a try.

Thanks for the great tips so far!

You can take the train to Pisa and  enjoy more than the tower and museum,

I enjoyed walking around and having lunch.

many people on here have been to Luca. Some have taken the train and others a driver, a lovely old city. I went in the rain in a ships tour that included a wine tasting with food.  Like to go back no rain.

I think we are all waiting to see if the scheduled itineraries are the ones that are allowed to sail.  Azamara won’t want to say no to our money but may have to.  It’s out of their hands if countries make rules they feel necessary.

And more loyal  guests will see Europe land.  Some of my ports are great On two lines but I would do land

If this is to be the normal length for sailings, then they shouldn’t be promoting voyages of 13 days. I have been sent an email today, selling voyages for May 3021, of that length.

3021..not sure but no one I know will be here.

longer cruises are safer. Less new people showing up bringing with them airplane germs.

Interesting that they’re not moving Captain Carl, but are moving Captain Johannes!

Carl got the new ship. Three years ago,Johaness been on the JR for ten years.  Each ship now has one captain that been with AZ ten or more years and one newbie as Captain. After losing Jose and Russ anything can happen.

Any thoughts on cabins 7078 or 7085 on Pursuit?  Unless I am missing something it looks like those are the only 2 veranda cabins available midship, but they are very close to the laundry and the elevators... would they be noisy?  The other available veranda cabins are either at the very aft or forward which we do not want.  Would our travel agent have access to other available cabins? Wereally like this itinerary so I guess we better get something booked soon!

Not a lot ..only thing thing I know for sure they lock the laundry at around ten..unless that has changed. Never been inside. I have stayed on 8 mid ship  and not a problem hearing noise..at least not from  lifts.  I do hear people talking, doors are not sound proof

There are no tubs in balcony cabins only showers.

Sorry, I mix those cabins with Deck 8 Club ones. I do know that some still have a bath vs a shower.

As a long time guest I know we get benefits that are offered in a Plus cabin. But would a new guest feel  As you do. To me the location of cabin...Mid ship is important.to others the sound of an anchor not going to make a difference.

  12. For me it is where to go back too vs what I am missing now.

japan by land and sea. Inland in AU, Perth, more  of Norway ,Ireland, Greece ,Italy, Spain etc.

after two tries for India and this winter in S America not trying again.to many other place to go
