  1. Not unbroken, I imagine. What did they do during the dread Prohibition?
  2. Lots of wineries in Southern England make méthode champenoise wines, some of them exceedingly good, but they don’t call the stuff champagne, a simple matter of geography.
  3. I can see that putting it in that way may not necessarily have endeared you to them, but no doubt your phrasing was more anodyne. 🙂 You still don’t say, other than moving the time of dinner slightly, what the special treatment was.
  4. I certainly have, even from this distance. 😀😀 And I’ve learnt a lot, particularly concerning pineapples.
  5. I hope your mother has enjoyed the odyssey as much as you have, despite being somewhat less mobile.
  6. Last night they were visible in the IOW, and presumably here, if it had been dark enough and I’d been awake.
  7. I should have thought the most vital thing was something waterproof. It may not necessarily be that cold, after all the Gulf Stream is why winters in the UK are cool rather than cold, but it will be wet and windy. I have never done a winter TA though.
  8. As a matter of interest, are people like Intercruises, who actually handle the check in, subcontractors of Carnival or subcontractors of the port?
  9. Strangely, it must be said Kirkland could very well be the name of a TA. Kirkland Overseas Tours sounds very convincing. 😀 As to the champagne, this is probably just a matter of taste. I doubt very much I could tell the difference, not being used to the stuff. Indeed, almost the only champagne I drink is that supplied by Cunard. But every Christmas various newspapers do tastings of a variety of champagnes, and there are always a couple of supermarket own brand champagnes that do as well as the Grands Marques.
  10. Why not name this mysterious liquid? After all, it’s not a Travel Agent.
  11. Years ago, we were in a BC cabin under the swimming area, and were woken every morning when the put the chairs out.
  12. When you’ve just come through a major gale. 🙂
  13. But the pub and the Lido are, until they close.
  14. You would be paid, or at least rewarded, by your mother’s pleasure, our admiration, some nice food, and satisfaction at your own altruism. Oh, and you might find it amusing. Who could resist?
  15. And I must say that the illustrious Jam is far more positive about Cunard than many people who travel regularly on the line and moan a lot about it in their posts.
  16. QA has larger capacity, and European cruises are popular.
  17. That would be a downer, and you would have to complain, charmingly but viciferously.
  18. You might, with luck, get him in a tux. I suspect a cummerbund will be a step too far.
  19. I wonder if some, at least, of the Aussie questions are repeated or repetitive.
