  1. There is a new very positive review of an excellent TA voyage on QM2. I wouldn’t think about cancelling. Incidentally, our formal gear doesn’t take anywhere near a whole pice of luggage.
  2. Your poor husband. When we disembarked, we had to wait a long time for our taxi to appear (my fault), and, the whole time we were waiting, about half an hour, there was an empty car parked there with hazard lights on. Nobody seemed remotely interested.
  3. There were one or two people on the QE2 who made me think they didn’t quite consider me worthy of their attention, but that was long ago and more recently they have all been lovely.
  4. Have you escaped the ship, or are you staying on board for the Med? Sorry I’ve just realised this is the wrong thread to ask.
  5. I assume your husband managed to convince him the car wasn’t a danger. 😀 Why did he think it was? Glad there were no major delays.
  6. Aren’t all loyalty perks probably illogical on that ground?
  7. What a shame. Any chance of you passing each other, preferably in daylight?
  8. I am lucky that I have never had to deal with any sort of major crisis on our cruises so far, but, in the minor ones and very minor ones, which are often the most irritating for the staff, I have found the Cunard crew to be almost unvaryingly kind to a degree that goes beyond the requirements of their jobs. I think those who travel in the QG are also lucky to have the lovely Concierge to help sort things, reducing dependence on the not always so lovely Purser’s Office. But the waiters and stewards and butlers have always been genuinely kind.
  9. Are you going to meet Queen Victoria? It would be nice for QA finally to meet one of her sisters.
  10. That was exactly my thought on our Canary Islands jaunt. She should be excellent for warm weather cruising with lots of outdoor space and a mixture of sun and shade. Have a splendid time.
  11. The same may apply with others too. After all, sometimes the Terminal changes on embarkation day if something goes wrong.
  12. If you are using CPS, you don’t need to worry about the terminal. They will sort it.
  13. I was thinking more about embarkation day, when quite a number of lifts tend to be unavailable.
  14. I don’t think I can remember Cunard ships not using passenger lifts to transport at least some of the luggage, but this is inevitably a subjective impression. I haven’t actually been counting.
  15. Are the lifts actually out of service or in fact just not for passengers so they can use them for luggage?
  16. Yes, I’m not quite sure how he does that, but he always seems to know your name as you walk into the restaurant for the first time. Is he very good at reading upside down from a distance?
  17. I do hope, for your husband’s sake, that they do a better job of handling disembarkation than they did a fortnight ago.
  18. If that is the case, it is excellent news and it seems the new ship is doing everything Cunard hoped for. It is certainly different from our voyage which had more passengers who were very elderly and had movement difficulties than I can remember, and were multiple repeaters. (Very proud of myself as I’ve remembered the significance of red cards.)
  19. Shock horror, two women in senior positions! I bet they still get ignored in bars if alone.
  20. Let us hope for them also, but possibly not.
  21. Extra obc. $400 each for a fortnight in the Grills.
  22. Of course I’m not in the know. I’m just an ordinary female passenger.
  23. That was not the process on QA’s previous voyage. Appointments had to be made by the Purser’s Office. You could not just turn up and hope to be squeezed. 😀
