  2. I was brave (or foolhardy) and upgraded to iOS 17. No issues, and shortly after there was already 17.0.1
  3. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Rabbits are cute, except when burrowing in my yard. I'm not sure I've ever had cherries jubilee. I don't hunt or fish. Funny quote. The meal looks interesting. Pass on the drink, but yes to the wine. I haven't been to Isle of Pines. 2 good days in history. Fall is definitely here. It's only 59 now and we may make it to 64. My bedroom was chilly, and I didn't want to come from under the comforter. I was awakened about 6:25 by leg pain. I sat up in the position that helps it, waiting for @richwmn to start today's Daily. I posted the Cares list, then managed to fall back asleep until almost 9! Again I sat up and leaned forward for a bit, enabling me to get up without too much pain. I will be composing a message to my Rheumatologist today, to see what she thinks. My teams football game is late, and I probably won't stay up until the end. @grapau27 I hope you feel better soon, after all your vaccinations. Mine will be coming up in the next few weeks. @ottahand7 Enjoy the game! I hope all the rain is gone by kickoff. @StLouisCruisers Can you take a folding chair with you for the games, to sit in the shade? I couldn't stand for that long, and sitting on the ground is a no go for me. That's so sweet that your DS is a joy to be around. @1ANGELCAT Sorry to hear of your church member Stephanie's accident; not a nice birthday celebration for her, sadly. @Ichiban Nekko Your meal sounds delicious. I'll have to check it out. I'm an Ina fan. I want to get a Nest thermostat, but I think my current wiring isn't right for it. I'll have to get my boiler guy to check it out. @smitty34877 Hugs to you and the family. You all had obviously endeared yourselves to the neighbors and I'm glad they are being so kind, as well as DD's workplace. @Lady Hudson Wonderful scenery. Good idea to get DH Bill checked out once you're home. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. And for the picture of friends enjoying food. @kochleffel Have a meaningful Yom Kippur. @RMLincoln I'm glad you got some good sleep. Great photo. I know with your positive attitude that you will be fine before, during and after your move. @Haljo1935 Enjoy this 2nd leg of your cruise and thanks for your photos. @marshhawk Congrats on getting that bonus from work. @Live4cruises I can feel your excitement! Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those with something to Celebrate.
  4. Today’s Care List: Smitty34877’s DH Lou passing on 9/18 Cruising sister’s great niece Baby Murphy post-surgery, on vent, unstable Lady Hudson’s DH Bill with bronchitis, onboard Jewel of the Seas Marshhawk’s house issues Tbay’s DH recovering from pneumonia All Dailyites going through worries and stress, whether mentioned or not Recovery from Wildfires in Maui Canadian/US wildfires/Those in the path of Tropical Storm Ophelia Citizens of Ukraine From the Rotation: Kazu’s dear friend’s DH with leukemia, now on palliative care Cruising-along’s DBIL diagnosed with prostate cancer RMLincoln’s DH with glaucoma issues Tana’s pulmonary issues Celebrations and Shoutouts: Vict0riann and Heartgrove booking new cruises Norseh2o’s upcoming 2-week trip Cat shepard’s new car Mamaofami’s DH Sam home from the hospital, post-surgery for brain bleed The Daily Gardening Club posting wonderful flower pictures All the contributors to the Fleet Report/Daily Upcoming Cruises or At Sea: 1 day for ocean sounds (Royal Princess Sept 25 to Oct 2, Vancouver to Honolulu) 5 days for Rafinmd (Queen Mary 2/Crystal Serenity Sept 29 to Oct 13) NE, CA/Quebec City to NY 6 days for Cruzn single (Zuiderdam Sept 30 to Oct 10, The Atlantic Coast) 6 days for Ichiban Nekko (Zuiderdam Sept 30 to Oct 10, The Atlantic Coast) 6 days for WannaSea (Koningsdam Sept 30 to Oct 7, AK Inside Passage) 7 days for Nickelpenny (Noordam Oct 1 to Oct 8, Wine Country & PNW) 7 days for Live4cruises (Westerdam Oct 1 to 28, N.Pacific crossing & Japan Collector) Heartgrove (MSC Preziosa to Sept 24, British Isles + 2 days in Copenhagen), Lady Hudson (Jewel of the Seas to Sept 28, Canada and Greenland), Haljo1935 (Carnival Venezia to Sept 29, B2B, NY/Canada/NE), SusieKIslandGirl (Noordam to Oct 1, Great Alaskan Explorer), tupper10 (Noordam to Oct 1, Great Alaskan Explorer), Oceansaway17 (Celebrity Summit Oct 2, Boston, Maine & Canada), Vmax1700 (Rotterdam to Oct 7, Jewels of the Baltic) and Mr. Boston (Oosterdam to Oct 8, Med Tapestry, Greece & Adriatic Antiquities)
  5. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Fall is here! Sign language is important for many. No love note here. Ovarian cancer awareness is important; it is what took away my friend Ruth recently. Interesting quote - wishing alone won't make things happen. I like the meal, pass on the drink, and yes to the wine. I haven't been to St Anthony NL. It's chilly and cloudy here today, with a high of only 67. Brrr. We'll get some rain, but most will be in eastern PA. I got to sleep until 4:45, when some movement initiated the terrible leg pain. I sat up and leaned forward, which after a while eased it enough that I could fall back asleep until almost 7. This has to go!! Now that I'm up and about I'm doing ok. @kazu I'm so sorry to hear about your hydrangea. Is there no way to save it or root a piece of a cutting? It's good to hear that Ivan is improving. @Crazy For Cats Happy Birthday to Jasper! @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you feel better today. I'm glad Ren and Colton got some time to visit, even if short. Cool about them both being invited to visit Notre Dame. @ottahand7 Good news that you'll get to the game tomorrow. @ocean sounds Good thing you checked on your flight! Safe travels tomorrow. @Heartgrove Cool on the Captain signing ship models. Nice photos. @RMLincoln Welcome back. I'm glad you enjoyed the cruise despite the delay in starting, missed ports and the weather. And wonderful that you stayed healthy. Wow and congrats on getting the retirement apartment so soon! You've got a lot to do! @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you're feeling better. I always worry I'll forget my prednisone for my eyes. There is so much to see in Italy; don't wear yourselves out trying to see it all (you'll just have to go back!). @kplady Thanks for the St Anthony photos. @dfish Such fun with all your social activities. Thanks for the recipes. I've made some low carb cheeseburger casseroles in the past. @cruising sister So sad to hear of the CT scan results on Murphy. Prayers for the family. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  7. Thanks Graham. I do plan to ask to get a hip x-ray and maybe also an MRI of my back (which a few years ago showed a lot of degenerative disease, especially on the right side and some mild spinal stenosis).
  8. I managed to get a half hour nap in the recliner. Graham, I sleep on my back. I used to sleep on that side, but had a different pain, that was relieved by a steroid injection into the bursa. Lenda, I had the bursitis treated. This pain is down the whole side of the thigh, almost to the knee. When I try to move in bed or roll over, I have terrible pain in that area. I hope Pat's US turns out ok. Congrats on booking the TA.
  9. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I am a big Tolkien fan, so yay for hobbits! I'll salute businesswomen and elephants. I have a small collection of elephant statues, trunks up for luck, of course. Very true quote. Pass on the meal (fish), drink and wine. I haven't been to Sakaiminato-Matsue. 2 interesting days in history. It's a nice 73F out and sunny. I had an eventful evening and night. BFF and I went out to eat, and by the end of the meal I was having intestinal distress. I even had to have him stop at McDonald's on the way home, to use the facilities. I started drinking Gatorade when I got home. Then my left eye became sensitive to light and was red before bedtime, so a mild flare that I treated with drops. And around 2 AM I had terrible pain in my right thigh, and back pain, that kept me up all night. My watch said I slept 2.5 hours. I went to PT at 11 with trepidation, but was able to get through my routine. The odd thing is the thigh has been an issue for weeks, but usually only very painful when I wake up, then ok during the day; no one has figured out what's going on (I think it's the hip or spine). I also caved and took ibuprofen this AM. I'm feeling ok now. But I feel like I'm falling apart! @rafinmd I'm getting excited for your upcoming cruises. @Haljo1935 I hope nothing serious was seen on DH's ECHO. Thanks for the photos. @kazu I hope Ivan is his old playful self soon. @ottahand7 Sorry the weather might interfere with the game, but good that you will still see your friends. I used to work out in Washington County, not too far from the town of Washington). @StLouisCruisers That'll be interesting with Ren and Colton playing against each other. You'll have quite the houseful of folks. @Heartgrove Congrats on booking another cruise. @smitty34877 Aww on Fred and his laying on the rug. He knows things are different. Prayers for you and the family. @Lady Hudson I hope DH is feeling better soon. Great photos. @cat shepard Congrats on the Volvo; they're highly rated for safety. @dfish You've got a busy day! Enjoy the classmates, then Farkle later. @dobiemom Safe trip home. @Seasick Sailor I hope your sister's friend gets better soon. @ger_77 I hope DH continues to feel well. @marshhawk Great minigolf story. @Cruzin Terri Great news that your cousin is doing well. I hope the contractor coming out personally will get things taken care of. Good to hear you're feeling better today. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  11. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I so wish we had International Peace now. I haven't played miniature golf in ages. We all have much to be grateful for, even though at times it's hard to see it. Interesting quote. I like the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Santos, or Brazil at all. Good days in history. Another chilly start today at 54F, now up to 67 and sunny. I did appreciate the comforter on the bed last night. Not much on the agenda today, except going out for a local restaurant's German Oktoberfest meal with BFF. I have weaned off the ibuprofen, so the back and joints are protesting today. I also mowed the lawn yesterday, so that's contributing. I may try to get the RSV shot soon. I will get the flu and Covid vaccines in October. The Covid vaccine is scarce here right now. @ocean sounds Congrats on the cruise and upgrade. When I cruised to Hawaii from LA, the Pacific wasn't bad in terms of waves, but it was chilly outside the first few days. @StLouisCruisers I'm sorry Ren still wasn't feeling well yesterday and I hope he's better today. Great photos from Santos. @Crazy For Cats Belated Happy Birthday to Tucker! @rafinmd Rest up if you can. @cat shepard Interesting about the hybrid car scarcity. I'll be curious as to what you might get. My car is getting older, but doesn't even have 30K miles after 8 years, so I will likely hang on to it since I don't drive that much these days. @RedneckBob Whoa, clever, lol. @cruising sister That sounds like a nice time reminiscing about your friend. I don't know why yesterday's thread is locked. @0106 That's a great quote from Hendrix. @kazu Good luck with the PT. It's great all you are doing for your roll call; I hope they appreciate you. Oh my on Ivan stealing cheese - I hope he feels better soon. I'm glad some of your flowers survived. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the photos of Santos. @smitty34877 ((hugs)) I'm glad you have family with you during this difficult time. Thanks for your insight on the medication. @HAL Sailer We look forward to hearing from you as conditions allow. @ger_77 Our Dollar Tree still sells plastic cutlery, although the store is now the $1.25 store (still a bargain). Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.

  13. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I almost exclusively get a pepperoni pizza, sometimes with other toppings added. Not a big fan of punch. I'm ready! Good quote. I like the meal, pass on the drink and yes for the wine. I haven't been to Goteborg. 3 good days in history. Germany's reunification was especially important. Sad that Magellan didn't make it all the way. Whew. Just finished mowing the lawn. I wanted to do it while much of the yard was in shade and the temps weren't high. Despite the temp in the upper 60's, I was sweating. But at least it's done. This afternoon I have a haircut. I put the comforter on the bed last night, but then I was too hot. Sad news that a 15 year old girl was killed in a school van crash this morning. Several other children with injuries and both drivers are in critical condition. @rafinmd I'm glad you decided to cruise. You can sit back and be pampered as much as you like. @grapau27 Good news that your skin cancer consultant gave you the all clear. @StLouisCruisers Safe travels for DDIL. And I hope Ren is feeling good today. @Lady Hudson How cool that you got to see the Northern Lights! I hope DH is feeling better each day. @mamaofami Great news! @cruising sister Sorry about your yard and I hope it does look better soon. @ottahand7 Safe travels tomorrow. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. @marshhawk What a mess that tree caused. @ger_77 Sorry to hear the smoke is still hanging around. And it sounds like DH is having a smooth recuperation. @HAL Sailer Happy Birthday to your DH! I'm sorry to hear of his decline in function, with pain, and falls. I hope the doctors and PT can find a way to help him. Prayers for you both. @AncientWanderer I hope DGS is ok. @Cruzin Terri How is your cousin that had the stent doing? @smitty34877 Holding you and your family in prayer. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those with something to Celebrate.

  15. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Talking like a pirate and dancing are fun. I'm not fond of butterscotch pudding. True quote. The meal sounds good. Maybe on the drink and yes to the wine. I've been to Maui, but not Kahului, I don't think. A good day in history. I want to apologize for an error in the Care List. There is a typo, and the date of the passing of Terry's DH Lou should say 9/18. It was too late to correct it when I noticed the error, but it will be fixed in tomorrow's Care List. It's quite chilly here, starting at 52 this AM, now 63 and up to 71 later. I have PT soon, but should try to mow the lawn when I get back. @smitty34877 Thinking of you and your family at this time, and praying for eventual peace for you all. @mamaofami A bittersweet Happy Anniversary. I hope Sam is stable. @kazu I'm sure you'll get done what needs to be done before you leave; deep breath! @Heartgrove Thanks for sharing your photos. Rest up today. @StLouisCruisers Safe travels. I hope Ren is feeling better. @marshhawk That stinks about your PT being cut short. I have very dry eyes, and in addition to using Restasis, I put an eye gel in at night (helps a lot). I think I sometimes sleep with my eyes not completely closed, which adds to dryness. @Quartzsite Cruiser Nice Hawaii photos. @Seasick Sailor I'm glad your sister is ok, looking at that damage to her car. Ugh on the black crickets. Thankfully our invasion of the spotted lantern flies is going away. It's egg laying time for them, and I just hope they're not worse next year. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  17. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like cheeseburgers a lot (without the bun or with). Not a Rice Krispies Treat fan. We need more respect in these times. Funny quote by Groucho. I will pass on the meal and drink, yes to the wine. I haven't been to Bimini Islands. An important day in Irish history. It was very foggy this morning and in the mid-50's. We're supposed to go up to 71 later. There are possible scattered showers, so I will play it by ear with mowing the lawn. For now, it's laundry. My stomach issues have passed; I think they were due to my RA shot, as it always happens a few days after I take it (although the Rheumatologist says she hasn't seen it in others). @rafinmd I hope you feel better today. @kochleffel I hope you are feeling better today Paul. @puppycanducruise I'm glad the rain held off for a while for the happy couple. @StLouisCruisers How odd about DD not being able to get through on your landline. Good going on the photo book and the saving of money. Congrats to Ren on his goal scoring. @kazu I'm glad you didn't have serious damage. Be careful with the elbow while cleaning up the debris. @Crazy For Cats Oh my, Jasper had quite the time in the office. I'll check out your Zaandam review. @Denise T I'm glad you're feeling better. @cat shepard Exciting to get a new car! @aliaschief Safe trip home. @marshhawk I hope Chuck gets a good report from the eye doctor. @Cruzin Terri I'm sorry to hear you are still having a lot of pain, even with the increased Prednisone. Will you call or message the doctor? Is it a Rheumatologist you're seeing? I hope you don't have to cancel the trip, but if you're feeling this bad it wouldn't be a fun time I suspect. @GTVCRUISER Thanks for the photos. @ger_77 Your recipe for the GF treats sounds interesting. @Heartgrove Thanks for checking in and enjoy your day today. @cruising sister Enjoy your lunch today. Prayers for a miracle for Murphy. @smitty34877 I am so sad to hear of Lou's passing. I am glad that he was at home with family. Prayers for your family at this difficult time. Even if expected, this is heartbreaking. Much love to you all. @durangoscots I'm glad you're feeling better today. Prayers for the Care List. A toast to those Celebrating.

  19. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Citizenship and Constitution Days are worth celebrating. I will salute red pandas and saw some in a Chongquin zoo when I did a river cruise in China. Good quote. Yes to the meal and wine. Pass on the drink. I haven't been to Taormina. An important day in history, that led to better health. It's rainy and cloudy; we'll only get to 68F today. I had a good night's sleep and am feeling better today. My project this morning was to try to get iCloud drive working again, so I could access the Care List on my iPad for early morning posting. Lots of complaints on the webs, and if you reset the app you lose the data. So I copied everything from it to a folder on the PC and reset. Yay, it now works again and also I didn't lose the files (if I hadn't backed them up, I probably might have). Otherwise, just a relaxing day for me. @grapau27 Thanks for the link. Your weather looks like mine here. @StLouisCruisers Lovely Taormina photos. @Mr. Boston Thanks for the photos. Florence is one of my favorite places. @puppycanducruise Hoping for a wonderful wedding day for your niece (although I hear rain on your wedding day is supposed to be lucky). @1ANGELCAT Hugs on your dear friend Mabel's heavenly birthday. @smitty34877 Prayers for Lou, you, Tana and your family. I'm glad the family is able to get there for support when they can. I hope for a smooth day for you today on your own. @rafinmd I'm glad you slept well. Rest is important to recover completely. @kazu I'm glad your trees stayed put, but sad to see all the other downed trees and flooding. Hopefully the branch did no significant damage. I am happy you and Ivan are ok. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. Safe trip to the bridal shower. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos from Taormina and Naxos. @Seasick Sailor I'm glad your sister wasn't injured in the car accident. @aliaschief Have a safe drive to Seattle today, and safe flight back to FL tomorrow. @Haljo1935 Nice photo. Enjoy the day! @0106 Enjoy the day with your parents at the Orioles game! @tupper10 @SusieKIslandGirl Bon Voyage! @dobiemom I'm glad you're enjoying LV. @Lady Hudson Good news about going to Greenland. @luvteaching I'm glad the Celebration of Life/family picnic was so well attended and rewarding. Enjoy your late lunch today with your cousin and her DH. @marshhawk I'm sorry to hear about all the house issues and the bank account problem. I hope you feel better today after your dinner out yesterday. Is your eye ok? @Horizon chaser 1957 Congrats on booking the cruise. @Denise T Sorry to hear about the stomach bug; feel better soon! Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate. Red pandas in Chongquin zoo

  21. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'll salute the American Legion, have collected a few rocks and I think step families are important. Excellent quote. I'll pass on the meal, drink and wine. I have been to Picton. Good days in history. Late day for me. I'm just back from dropping BFF's cousin and friend off at IAD for their flight back to Germany. Unfortunately my stomach is feeling a bit upset, so I think just some toast tonight, and an early bedtime. @CrabbyPatti My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Dad. Prayers for eventual peace. You were a great caregiver to him. @kazu I hope you are doing ok with the storm so far. Stay safe! @rafinmd Sorry to hear about the positive test, but I believe there can be a rebound after finishing the medication. I hope you will cruise if you think it's at all doable. @marshhawk That's terrible about the neighbor's tree and your property damage. I hope you get the eye looked at soon. @ger_77 Good news that Maurice's procedure went well. @Heartgrove Thanks for the photo of the Firth of Forth! @luvteaching I'm sure the Celebration of Life for your DH was full of wonderful memories. @Sharon in AZ I'm glad you got the dates for your cataract surgeries. @mamaofami Continued prayers for Sam. 23. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I've knitted a hat. I'll salute Greenpeace. Caregivers deserve lots of appreciation for all they do and it's a hard job. Interesting quote. I'll pass on the chowder (seafood), yes to the drink and the wine (although a bit pricey for me). I haven't been to Lautoka. Good day in history. Happy Rosh HaShanah to those celebrating! It started in the upper 40's today! Now up to 58F and sunny. I'll be leaving shortly for Maryland where BFF and I and friends will visit his cousin in Gaithersburg. Then we'll drive them to Dulles tomorrow for their flight and come back home. So tomorrow's Care List may be late. And to complicate matters iCloud drive isn't working on my PC (lots of complaints about this) and I'll have my iPad with me. I uploaded the list to DropBox and that seems to work. @StLouisCruisers You're making good progress on your photo book, even with the laptop difficulties. @rafinmd I'm glad you tested negative. I hope you start to feel less fatigues and get your energy back. @kazu Prayers that you remain safe during the storm, and no property damage. @Crazy For Cats I'm glad to hear your DM is doing well enough to go home on Sunday. @smitty34877 I'm glad Lou enjoyed yesterday's visit from DB and DSIL. Nice of her to make dinner for you all. And I know he'll enjoy seeing DS and family today. I hope all your family up in New England will weather the storm ok. @Cruzin Terri You have so much going on, no wonder you got those reservations mixed up. I hope you can fix the other one. It seems most people need glasses after cataract surgery, usually to read. @mamaofami Prayers that Sam gets his procedure soon, and that it all goes well. @Heartgrove I'm glad you're enjoying the cruise. Thanks for the photos. @1ANGELCAT Good to hear Tux is doing well. @Cruising-along Bon Voyage! Have a great time. @aliaschief Enjoy the train ride and the corn dog! @cunnorl I hope your family in MA stays safe. @marshhawk Good job on the sales. @Haljo1935 Safe travels today. @St Pete Cruiser Great photos from NYC. Enjoy Shucked tonight. Safe travels home tomorrow. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those with something to Celebrate.

  25. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I will pass on crab fest day. I don't like cream-filled donuts. National Quiet Day is a good day. Interesting quote. Pass on the meal, I like the drink, and pass on the wine. I haven't been to Tortula. Both important days in history. It was quite chilly at 52F this morning, and we'll go up to 72 later. I just spent almost 2 hours in a MS Teams meeting. Later this afternoon I have PT. BFF and I and his visitors all went out for Mexican last night, and it was very good. Tomorrow BFF and I will drive his cousin and friend to Maryland, where we'll have dinner with another cousin. Then on Saturday take them to IAD for their flight back to Germany, and come home. @rafinmd I'm glad you're feeling better, and yay on the negative test today. @Haljo1935 I hope all of your DH's tests come back with good results. @kazu I hope you are spared the worst of Hurricane Lee.
