  1. Your other option is to stay near FLL (hotel shuttles may not be running that late?) and then use SAS or another shuttle service to get to POM the next morning - fares start at about $15 per person each way (FLL to POM or POM to FLL). Check their web site for a current list of hotels they pick up at to save yourself a trip back to the airport just to get on the shuttle van.
  2. If you decide to use a taxi ask the hotel front desk to call one for you - they know who is reliable. As mentioned above fare will be on the meter instead of the flat rate but should be close to the same fare (+tip).
  3. The "Best Way" to get from MCO to PC and back is in a stretch limo with a stocked bar! 😎 Price will depend upon how stretch you are willing to pay for. As suggested above, one way car rentals are a good option as is Cocoa Beach shuttle (we have done both) and other shuttles.
  4. If you need to Uber or Lyft the fare should be about $10 or less.
  5. Most US airlines will not allow you to check your bags more than 4 hours before the flight.
  6. Luggage Lounge in South Beach is an option. I would also look at reortpass.com for hotels and resorts offering day passes to their pool/spa/beach facilities - spend the day swimming and getting pampered and tip them to store your bags.
  7. Florida Departures - Cruise Critic Community
  8. Larry's Limos is the most often suggested provider for private transport in the MIA-FLL area. You can take a taxi from MIA to your hotel for about $75+ (depends upon your hotel location). Uber and Lyft should be cheaper (and nicer) unless surge pricing pushed fares up.
  9. You have options: 1. Taxi, about $75+ depending upon where your hotel is located 2. Uber/Lyft - usually cheaper than a cab (and a nicer ride), but surge pricing can push up the cost 3. Tri-Rail train from MIA to one of the stations near FLL, then taxi/Uber or hotel shuttle 4. Private car service - I also recommend Larry's Depending upon how late you arrive you might consider a hotel near MIA and then head to Port Everglades the next morning.
  10. The Hertz is located in a nearby hotel - Marriott or Embassy Suites? Enterprise Ybor City is the closest location and should offer pick-up/drop-off service. If you get a better dela renting from an agency at the TPA airport a taxi to/from the port is about $25+ and UberX or Lyft should be a bit cheaper.
  11. Uber and Lyft will give you a price up front - accept it or close the app and take a cab. 6 plus bags (especially if anyone packs like my wife) will be a squeeze in a van taxi or UberXL. I would plan on taking 2 cabs or 2 Ubers. The flat rate cab fare applies between MIA and POM - the cab fare to your hotel and from hotel to the port will be on the meter. If you want to travel together check with Larry's Limos.
  12. You will dock in Port Canaveral, not Orlando - as mentioned above the ride to MCO airport will take about an hour. What time is your flight? Any reason to rush off the ship? We always book a later flight, sleep in a bit and enjoy one last breakfast in the MDR before walking off after the crowds about 9:00 or so.
  13. For a 12:01 flight you need to be at MIA not later than about 1030, and 10:00 or earlier is better with the typical TSA chaos (without pre-check the lines sometime take 45+ minutes to clear security! 😲). The ride from PE to MIA takes about an hour, which translates into off the ship, with bags and clear of customs/immigration NLT about 8:45 - again earlier is better! A taxi from PE to MIA will run $75+ on the meter, so a total fare of close to $100 is a good ballpark. UberX or Lyft should be cheaper, but surge pricing may push those fares above what the cab will charge. The advantage with a taxi is not waiting - take the first one in line and insist that he use the meter. If you want to use a car/limo service, check with Larry's Limos who are often suggested on this board. If any of this helps you owe me a pint - whatever bitter your local pours will be fine! 😎
  14. UberXL is another option that may save you a few bucks assuming all 4 plus bags can fit into the XL.
  15. Check resortpass.com for hotels offering day passes to their pool, spa and beach facilities. Tip them to store your bags while you swim, reps and grab lunch.
  16. Bring US Dollars for the cab fare and any purchases - and bring some small bills as cab drivers all over the world never seem to have change when you pull out a $20.
  17. Howdy neighbor! 😎 You can pay to store your bags at FLL (near baggage claim) - then you are free to explore.
  18. Hampton inn Mary Brickell area is often suggested on this board with lots of local dining and shopping options nearby.
  19. 12:15 should be easy to make even if you don't carry your bags off. Enjoy one last breakfast in the MDR - Tampa is easy!
  20. Doral is west of MIA, so farther away from the port. Taxi from MIA to POM is about $28 so your fare will be higher. I would call the hotel to see if they can suggest a shuttle company to take all 12 of you together and also reach out to Larry's Limos.
  21. Your "reasonable" might be my splurge. A few more details will help the suggestions to be closer to your target.
  22. Dates? Budget? Who is travelling? Flying into MIA or FLL?
  23. We like hotels in the Rocky Point area - nice views of the bay and several dining options. Check Chase Suites and others.
