  1. I don’t get why this is hard for some people. Press your floor. Get in the elevator it tells you to get in. Some large hotels have had this system for years.

Some people have difficulty figuring out what buttons to push on regular elevators. This should be real fun for them.

  2. A few cruises ago, we had three suitcases delivered to our room. They had luggage tags from another ship and our room number handwritten on the tag. I assume the porter put the tag on and were given or written the room number wrong. I had to take them to the elevators and give them to the staff.

About 10pm that night we got a flyer in the room with a picture of the bags so I guess they had to wait a while.

I don't think I would blame Carnival. They did their best to find the owners.

    Mistakes do happen.

  3. It's the same wait either in line at a bar or in line behind other people waiting to fill there cup and they can't decide what they want.

Why would you say it is the same wait? You have no idea. Try to go to one of those machines. People cannot figure it out or do not know what they want. At least with a bartender you get to order with a person.

  4. Only Rockstar on board, they have it in the regular, sugar free, and fruit punch variety. Not my number one choice for energy drinks, but since it's included with cheers it's tolerable.

I agree, not bad since it's included in Cheers. I usually have a couple Titos and Rockstar in the evening to give me a little boost.

  5. And you guys want to complain if I share a drink or two or my Cheers program. You can bet I will be getting 15 drinks a day and handing out bottled water and Powerade to anyone who wants it.

    What a scam

Not sure how it is a scam. You can buy it or you can not buy it. Nobody is forcing you. If you want to get as much as you can, that is up to you. If they start losing money, they will raise the price and you will pay more to hand out your bottled water and PowerAde.

  6. In most ports, check in is in different places for priority and non-priority. If you want to board with them, you can check in and then go to their area. In most cases, they will not be able to get into the priority area.

You may want to see if FTTF is available for them. That way they could board a little quicker.

  7. You can look at it as glass half full or half empty -- your choice, and that choice will color your perception of your vacation.

Great point. I have to say that for all things that have changed, one thing that has not changed has been the price of a cruise. We did our first cruise in 2000 and the one we are going on this summer is less expensive than we paid back in the day.

Sure they have specialty restaurants for a fee, but they didn't have them back then. If you don't want to pay, don't eat there.

  8. I was hoping for a little change up in the itineraries. We fly out of Chicago so wherever we go, we are taking a plane but when I fly to LAS, I would like to do a back to back. I've already done this itinerary twice and it's not one of my favorites.

I'm not sure how they could mix it up but surprising that they didn't through something different. Even cruises out of NY alternate between an 8 day and a shorter one.

  9. What I'm asking is why would it even be a consideration for anyone?

Because when eating out sometimes you tip 15%, sometimes 20%, sometimes 25% depending on the service you get. If you get exceptional service you can tip extra if you want but no one is making you. Some people like to give more, others take their tips off of their account. Do what you want.

  10. Not that I would call it a fridge. A cooler is more like it. Unless they have upgraded them, they do not keep anything very cold. If I get some beer from Bon Voyage, I always bring a collapsible cooler and ask the steward to fill it up with ice. It usually gets filled twice a day and keeps them very cold.

  11. That is odd. My granddaughter sailed in 2015, and is scheduled to sail again soon. I booked thru a Carnival vacation planner. Her status shows nothing. Maybe I should call someone?

    Janet

I would give them a call. She should have credit for the 2015 cruise. The fare for them is paid so they should get some credit.

  12. I usually book under the casino rate which is a little cheaper than early saver and offers some casino cash. If that is not available I book under early saver. I have never seen any of the VIFP offers that are decent.

I actually did book one cruise under the state rate. This was about 10 years ago and when I put Illinois into the state field, it came up cheaper than all the other options. That was the only time I ever saw the state make a difference.

  13. There are usually a bunch of 6$ blackjack tables open. You can bet 5 with the $1 side bet or $6 on your bet. Blackjack pays 6-5 and they use a continuous shuffle machine so the house is trying to get all the edge they can. Most casinos in Vegas pay 6-5 unless you play about $25 a hand.

But at least Vegas does not have the continuous shuffling, I don't play BJ on the ships because of that. I usually stick with 3 card poker which is 5 minimum.

  14. I know that the sports bars I have recently been on have sports video games to play. Yes, you have to give them your card or an ID to get a controller and the bartender will turn the game on. Not sure if they have racing games, I have only seen soccer and hockey

  15. I flew Spirit my last two trips for $150 round trip with taxes and baggage included. Yes, if you don't know what you're doing, the fees can kill you. It honestly blows my mind how many people refuse to read and then swear to only go elsewhere and pay double in the future. More savings for me I guess

I agree. I fly from Chicago to Vegas twice a year for about $125 on Spirit. I upgrade to Exit seats for about $70 extra. So 200 round trip is not bad. We flew with another couple and she was complaining about spending $3 for water. The American/United flights were around $350. I just dont get it.

  16. The DOU card does not count towards you 15 limit. Look at your receipt when you sign it, it will say 0 Drinks on us

When you sign a cheers receipt it has the number at the bottom.

And yes I have drank my limit on cheers and finished in the casino several times.....sorry it’s vacation.

DOU drinks do count toward your 15 drink limit on Cheers. I have hit 1500 point the last couple of cruises and the casino manager has told me DOU card is useless since it counts towards the 15 drink minimum. Both times they have given me free Steakhouse meals for two so it still is a good deal for me. I just have someone else buy my drinks if I hit the limit.

I believe when Cheers first came out, DOU did not count towards the limit but they were combined a while ago.
