    That is almost certainly how I will eventually carry the thing. In the pocket seems easiest to me. My wife often doesn't have a pocket so will have to figure out how she wants to carry it. We don't have any medallion cruises booked at the moment. We have 2 more this year and 3 for next fall. Perhaps we will sneak in a spring cruise next year. If so, maybe it will be a medallion cruise. We certainly won't book anything just because it has the medallion though.

    I keep it in a small clutch that I carry around.

    Another night in caribe but they they are confident that when we get back from Skagway tour we can return to our room. Yayyy. Hope so anyway as we have booked a balcony tea! And our champagne!

     

    They are open to further compensation and that will be a conversation for later, I was so disappointed after working myself up for last night in our room, now tonight all being well. 

     

    Hopefully things calm down now and my posts will slow down! When I get home I’ll post a couple of photos just if anyone was interested. Alaskan internet isn’t great!

    I know the feeling all too well. Once you go on this new ships it's definitely more difficult to go back to the older.

  5. you will most definitely be fine. Just head straight over to the crown grill to make reservations and then explain to me how many people are in your party and they should have no problem accommodating you. For the non suite family members joining you they most definitely can pay with their OBC or however. I think it will be a lovely dining experience for the whole extended family and your two kids alone will enjoy themselves.

  6. I think they meant possibly like for priority stuff if people question them  they can show them that they're elite. In all honesty I keep my Medallion inside my little clutch bag that I carry around with me. I never actually wear it on me. All passengers majority of time just think I'm crew and I asked him why do they think that ?They proceed to tell me,  because you don't have a medallion, so you must work for the line. Silly people, but I do enjoy their entertainment and play along. I tell them I have a very important job onboard and that I'm not allowed to discuss. (I call it, playing passenger).

    technically when you get on the ship they can also make you a new one with your name on it and stuff on the correct color if it really bothers you. Otherwise in there system when your name comes up it should show up that you are a past cruiser.

    fun fact of the day. I had no idea you had the capability of purchasing FCC for someone who's not on the sailing that has a captain circle number.

  11. On my most recent cruise on the Caribbean Princess mine was black for elite. and I believe it was the same Black Elite medallion for when I was last on the Regal several times. Yes they did change the lanyards over to a thinner lightweight white lanyard. makes you wonder if maybe they're thinking when you mentioned blue the blue paper that goes in that clear case that's around your medallion because that's usually the same blue when they give everyone except for when I was on the Caribbean Princess they had a limited edition shark week ones inserted. as for priority boarding usually after check-in will give you a card that says Elite so you can skip everybody.

  12. Since we're on the topic of furniture on the CB, may I just say I am not whatsoever thrilled with the new cheap looking plastic patio chairs at the tables on the pool deck. I went to visit a friend for the day he works on board the crown and as they also we did their whole pool deck dining with the salty dog and slice they too went for the cheapo plastic chairs. Not very luxurious looking compared to the nice wicker ones on the royal class ships.

    And to top it all a poor passenger has been helicoptered off for emergency medical care, right outside our makeshift room. Somber to see as the helicopter circles just above our balcony and a bit scary. It puts our situation into perspective I guess. Another night here has been confirmed as the problem was worse than first thought. 

     

    Champagne waterfall now though I expect captain will be late as the incident is going on right now outside our balcony. Then we have the Grill. Captain didn’t attend. 

     

    They’ve cancelled Juneau because of the delay with the ill passenger and replaced it with Scenic cruising which is a shame, but of course you have to think of the ill passenger. 

     

    Lovely dinner and they threw in a $100+ bottle of wine and we got plenty of attention including from the deputy maitre d’. Just want our room !!

     

    What a cruise so far and it’s only day three!!

    You can look at this entire crew situation as what a great story to tell in the years to come. About two summers ago when I was in Alaska they had to airlift a passenger off who needed emergency surgery. And I remember to Captain coming on and giving us updates on it. So he also announced that they had to cut our next stop in Juneau rather short to 1/2 day versus a full day. Of course he had plenty of upset passengers but I am one of the opposite ones where you put things in perspective and say oh my goodness I hope that other person gets the attention they need. I'm glad to hear you had such a lovely and wonderful dining experience in the crown grill. Can't wait to see what those photos look like of the bombshell. Hoping you get into your cabin later today. Enjoy the scenic route!

    Ok. I just called the princess credit card and they said that they just recently had a computer system update and that may have caused the issue with all the amazing missing transactions that are $1,000 and higher. She said give it 24-48 hours and hopefully it will readjust itself. If not they'll just get another call for me again.
