  1. Looking forward to your next review, good job on this one. Regarding your comment about the pharmacies in Ensenada, when in Mexico you are the doctor, no script needed and in some cases the prices are cheaper.
  2. Looking to book on the Odyssey, cabin 6704, how obstructed is the view on this balcony cabin?
  3. No, I'm a bag dagger, like to leave the ship when I'm ready to leave and not have to hunt for my bag(s) in the terminal.
  4. I have sailed on several Princesses when I was part of a travel group (Ducks), what bothered me was their version of the Windjammer. On RCL they have food stations where you just walked up and selected your item, the Princess cruises that I sailed on you had to go through the entire cafeteria style type line, very time consuming if you have to made multiple trips.
  5. Harry, now that tourist season is over the price of gas is now around $3.00/$3.15 a gallon here is the Myrtle beach area.
  6. A Water Taxi ride is a must during boat show week and a visit to Louie Bossi's on Las Olas Blvd for some great eats.
  7. The problem to me with a connecting cabin is that you get a chair instead of a sofa.
  8. Have a plan B if plan A doesn't work, also you still have to clear Customs which can be hit or miss.
  9. Halloween activities are a little bit different from ship to ship, seems to depend on the Cruise Director.
  10. Nice to see the "Hurt Box" is back, speaking of hiding some food items, when you get enough Crown & Anchor points you can order food items that are not on the MDR dinner menu.
  11. Harry, I have an old flip phone that I use on cruises because it works to make calls on the islands, however my jitterbug does not work outside of the US.
  12. I went to Customer Service to get a copy of the Daily Compass when the new policy just effect and this nice lady told me she could upload my cell phone, so I handed her my flip phone, LOL. Then she said to check with the room attendant. As for the food cut backs, on my b-3-b the first week I ate in the MDR, the second week I ate in the Windjammer making sure that I had my fill in the Diamond Club (which had good eats.) The third week my family joined me for my birthday cruise and we did a combination of both. After three weeks of cruise food I felt like I was eating at an inexpensive all you can eat restaurant.
  13. To me the event is just a sales pitch with cheap wine, not worth the effort to attend.
  14. Hi Harry, no real damage in our area, just some flooding and some minor wind damage. The county where I live has building codes that require houses to be able to withstand a Cat 3 hurricane.
  15. When I was on my last cruise a request was made to the room steward to leave the Daily Compass in the cabin instead of the mail slot, apparently a group of porch pirates were on the cruise.
  16. Hi from rain soaked Myrtle Beach, so far according to my rain Gage we have gotten 12 inches of rain, the heavier rain is falling inland. So far the center of the storm still has not gone through the area, good news the winds are down to 60 MPH. Lucky for me that I live 2 miles in land on a golf course that drains really well, so far so good. Also, all the businesses were told to close by 3 p.m. today. One nice perk about the Central Park cabins is that on most nights you could sit out on the balcony and listen to live music or open the balcony and listen to the music, but will turn off the A/C. As for the food, a couple of nights I would get a hamburger patty and some mashed potatoes cover with gravy and add some vegetables, instant Salisbury Steak.
  17. Hi from Myrtle Beach, spent the afternoon doing my storm preparations, gassed up the cars and gas for the generator, ATM, hardware and grocery stores. Back to cruising, this past May I did a 3-b-3 on the Harmony in a cabin that over looked Central Park and thought the cabin was very nice, good price and best of all I had the same cabin for all 3 cruises. The only problem was the selection of food since the menu option has been cut back, so I wound up eating in the Diamond Club before going to dinner. Well I'm off to batten the hatches,
  18. You can bring flowers on board at any time during the cruise but, you can not take them off.
  19. Harryfat1, Yes week 1 and week 3 were the same but what I did for week 1 was to take a ships tour, then for week 3 I rented a taxi to go back and did my own tour. Depending on the number of ships in port (the fewer the better) you can get a deal on renting a taxi by the hour. I did not stay on the ship for any port days, on turn around days I would go shopping/sight seeing. I found out there was a crew bus that passengers can use for a small fee that goes to a shopping area not far from the Embassy Suites on 17th St. in FLL.
  20. Harry, I have done several b-2-b cruises but this was my first b-3-b cruise and it was very interesting. Found out the bar tending gets rotated every two weeks, your sail and sign card gets a small red circle on the back, the staff calls out your name when they see you, have no problem getting on/off the ship on turn around days (I was issued a In Transit Card), a visit from ships officer when I was in the Diamond Club, and no issues with getting the table I want in the MDR.
  21. Wow, $6.00 for a gallon of gas, I got gas today and it was $3.30 a gallon, after Labor Day the price usually goes down once the tourists leave town. I'm doing well, and did a b-3-b on the Harmony this past May to celebrate my birthday.
  22. I include a knit shirt and list it as a T-shirt, never had a problem.
  23. Hi Harry, hopefully you are not under water. Happy to see your trip report and photos, I'll be following along.
  24. I did a b-3-b on the Harmony this past May and was very disappointed with the variety, the selections for week one was OK, not happy the 2nd and 3rd week.
