  1. Your post is confusing - you said on a SEA day. There are some notable excursions at certain ports which are late - ship excursions requiring considerable travel and provisions have been made. It is not something that should happen with routine, everyday excursions and not something that requires being prepared for, or pre-planning. Rushing to dinner after a day in port is exactly why we would never do traditional dining but if that is what you choose, and many do, you have to plan your schedule accordingly. IF you miss your dining - you can try MTD, go to the WJ or specialty. Things happen and you have to be prepared to go with the flow. You are on vacation and can’t micro-manage every moment, especially if trying to coordinate 8 people - one might be ill, get caught up in an activity or just simply be disorganized. Whilst being late to a shared table is certainly more inconsiderate even a whole late table can upset the balance in the traditional dining where they are trying to serve courses on a table rotation.
  2. Presume you mean NOT late excursion? That just sounds rude. If you want to be late you shouldn’t do set dining but i haven’t read the blog so don’t know the circumstances. If everyone is late it holds up the tables in set dining.
  3. Now its in the same area, recycling the same tables I don’t suppose it makes much difference to slot you in late but unless you had a late excursion not sure why you would be so late? Much better when MTD had its own dedicated and ever increasing section with dedicated and efficient servers.
  4. Haven’t they only just reopened?
  5. No not to snorkel but if you choose El Cid you have to have a pass to enter - it is a hotel. A long time ago we did just purchase food and drink but I don’t know if that is possible any more. Del Mar is $39 pp but it is AI and no transport required. Entrance con be a little rough, probably not great snorkeling. Buccanos, I think is currently $20pp entrance credited to food and drink and has a pool and good food and will require taxi. None of the locations require a pass to actually snorkel, as far as I know, but all will expect a food/drink purchase. As I said they all have websites with details or TA reviews.
  6. The day pass at El Cid is for their facilities in case that wasn’t clear - not a pass to snorkel. It has been a long time since we were there but they used to do a minimum pass which allowed entrance and wifi with a credit towards food and drink, an AI expensive pass to include use of pool, or possibly a PAYG entrance. We have preferred Del Mar Latino in recent years for price and convenience if staying near the port.
  7. Options are all listed on Dolphin Discovery site, Cozumel.
  8. My comments above were fyi mainly for @Anilo182 in case they weren’t aware. Snorkeling is not particularly good but it depends how experienced you are and what you are expecting. If you don’t need the facilities of a large resort or AI and just want to snorkel and a snack I would check out websites and reviews for Sky Reef, Money Bar, El Cid, Del Mar, Tikila Bar, La Monina or Buccanos. (South to north) Prices for taxis to all these places will be on a board at the port. El Cid, Del Mar and Tikila/ Sunset Bar are within reasonable walking distance of Puerto Maya if you are active. Use Google maps for interactive walk. La Monina and Buccanos are north so slightly different to Chankanaab area. To get the best experience at any of these locations it is probably best to ask the locals regarding currents and areas to aim for. Between Tikila and Sunset are underwater statues. Offshore at El Cid is an underwater plane wreck I haven’t seen it, only read about it, and you would need a day pass from lobby.
  9. Paradise beach has excellent facilities- clean and well maintained. Good fit for older kids and active adults. It wouldn’t be my first choice with young children due to crowding. YMMV. The water inflatables are in deep water and require strength to access - just a caution depending on ability of child so they are not disappointed. Food is good, (typical beach club menu) but definitely tourist prices if you do PAYG. Can become an expensive beach day PAYG or AI, especially if you add on water activities and extras. OK as long as you are prepared - many are caught unaware.
  10. There certainly used to be flies at Coco Cay before it was developed and food was brought from the ship. It was #1 complaint and discussed regularly.
  11. The roving waiter sales often offer discounts depending on their bookings.
  12. OK just wondered if that was the problem and was wondering if you were on iOS or android. No need to be defensive, just a question and no, I have an iPad not an android. Family with android have sailed several times this year and haven’t had problems, so perhaps it is fixed.
  13. Diamond lounge (renamed Crown) is off the Viking lounge (Blue Moon) deck 14
  14. Do you have an old tablet? Is that why it isn’t compatible? I use an iPad without a problem and family members use android tablets without a problem.
  15. Unless there was another one, I think it was a HAL ship.
  16. Depends where you go and whether it is a tour or a shuttle. Could always book a private driver and be on your own schedule.
  17. Keep in mind Nachi opens 8.30am local time (Cozumel EST year round) which may/may not be the same as your ship or the others. We never go that early but if it is similar to Del Mar (affiliated club) food will not be available immediately which may factor into whether you have breakfast or not.
  18. I think we have crossed wires! Not really any concern of mine but the @TJA27was trying to determine the merits of buying a beverage package and times may be a deciding factor.
  19. 24 hours on Adventure and Serenade, which are the ships being discussed? These are the ships the OP is interested in not Oasis etc.
  20. Agree there is significant land transportation involved from the other ports but you are not trying to coordinate taxi, ferry, taxi, and reverse like from Cozumel.
  21. Do they get gold card priority seating round pool? good seating but no shade.
