  1. As we left this evening yesterday's ferry turned up like a bad penny
  2. Ate there this evening, but went around the left corner at 8:40, it was still pretty busy as too windy to sit outside. Unfortunately the ship is almost full do all restaurants are very busy. If you eat early it's much worse.
  3. Feeling lazy today, so a joint decision to have a sea day. The weather is nice, sunny and about 25c. It was Informal/Formal optional last night and was good to see lots of black tie conformity. I didn’t see anyone in a bar or restaurant who was improperly dressed. We ate in Atlantide and apart from a slow start to service all was good. The show was the same old Mind that Gap, and the current set of Voices were rather unimpressive.
  4. After a fairly sunny afternoon we are about to depart for our next stop, Valencia. The Captain announced that we currently have zero COVID cases onboard. I would add, identified so far. Politely reminded another guest on the shuttle that he should have been wearing a mask, he replied “why?”. He then claimed not have read any instructions and I’m ashamed to say was British.
  5. This morning we are docked in Palma de Mallorca where it was going to rain, but we missed it so far. Woke up to find this parked up next to us.
  6. According to RCL Rico we have about 540 guests onboard with over 300 Americans and around 430 crew. So technically the ship is just about full. Gilbert is still MD and is due to go home next week in Lisbon. Staffing levels are sort of ok, however we only have one hairdresser in the Spa, and he’s been extended twice so far, and no professional nail technician! We do have a Botox and wrinkle fixing Dr though. La Dame is only seating about 40 covers per evening because of the galley capabilities instead of the max of 60 seats it could handle. There are still ongoing supply issues, mostly affecting top end items. We have about 20 whites and 20 reds available, with an entire lake of Tiki.
  7. Taken as part of the boarding procedure on the Moon yesterday but not being carried out unless you turn out to be ill.
  8. After some serious queueing we were onboard at 3:50. Suites ready at 4. Muster at 6, well actually 6:17. Now ready to depart after waving Regent goodbye.
  9. Just met some exiting Moon’ies in our hotel who had a lovely cruise, thought the ship was great, but way too quiet. They did have a wonderful time in Mala’r’ga and particularly enjoyed the Andalusian horse show.
  10. Looks like a busy day in port with 6 ships showing on Marine Traffic.
  11. You should get an email with your cruise ticket about two weeks before sailing.
  12. Happily tucked up in our hotel in Barcelona and about to join the Moon tomorrow afternoon. Hoping for fair winds, plenty of Tiki and no yellow dots!
  13. What’s this got to do with SS. Asking for a friend.
  14. Received an email from SS yesterday detailing all the activities that we have booked for our upcoming Moon voyage. I know that a number of people have found it annoying that the section for your voyage on MySilversea disappears as soon as the voyage begins, so this is an improvement. Well done SS.
  15. Ok, I now admit to being confused. The only Sancerre that I have come across on any of the SS ships recently is the Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Cuvee Sauvage which is a snip at about $55 from the Connoisseur’s List. There has been a very drinkable Pouilly Fume available from the complimentary list if you knew to ask for it as an alternative to the NZ SB or other SB from France or Chile. Perhaps @Gourmet Galcould ask if there really is a complimentary Sancerre available on the Moon now.
  16. Shhhhhh! that leaves more for us 🤪
  17. More guests got home from the Moon today and brought SS COVID back with them. Apparently they were among the few who masked and had avoided all shore excursions.
  18. When we discovered that we needed Saudi visas whilst mid voyage on WC22, the Finance Officer on the ship did all the heavy lifting for us. Hopefully SS will sort it out for you.
  19. Agreed, we had a great trip there to watch cricket in late 2018, lovely people and lovely country, however the government followed weird green policies that devastated agriculture, got deeply in hock to the Chinese, who don’t do debt forgiveness and then the pandemic killed tourism. It’s a basket case.
