  2. Every day, the Qld Health Department publishes Covid data on Facebook. This includes Deaths. BUT - if you read the fine print you will find that these people did indeed test positive to Covid in the time before death - but theDept openly states that the most they can say about these people is that they died WITH Covid. The causes of Death can be multiple - and for an elderly, unfit, obese person who has a heart condition, high BP, cancer, diabetes, etc, etc , then indeed getting Covid may push them over the edge. I have a 90yo friend who has/had cancer, a dicky heart valve that needs replacing for the second time - but who is also very fit, active and not overweight - he also recently tested positive for Covid but he was fully vaccinated and the virus was little more than a nuisance for him ( like a common cold is!!)
  3. IMO - a car is essential on the island - as is a pair of good legs.
  4. Not many beaches on the Island - don't know about snorkelling but I don't think there is much coral around the island. Most of the "waterfrontage" is cliff faces , falling away to fathomless depths. Their rubbish dump consists of a bulldozer - which pushes everything and anything over the cliff into the deep blue sea - never to be seen again - after they burn it of course.
  5. Health requirements for international travel to Vanuatu will be eased from 1 July 2022. Travel clearance will be through the Department of Immigration (the Vanuatu Electronic Traveller System will no longer be used) A pre-travel negative COVID-19 supervised RAT or PCR result OR evidence of a previous infection within the last 2 months is required for travellers 2 years and over. Documents should be presented at check-in for the flight to Vanuatu and upon arrival. Masks should be worn on the plane and at the airport upon arrival in Vanuatu by all travellers 12 years and over. As usual, please do not travel if sick. There are no other specific health requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is encouraged but not required. There is no upon-arrival quarantine or testing if there are no symptoms and no contact.
  6. While watching the 50's film about Cunard Queen Elizabeth earlier today, I noticed that the narrator called Cunard - "Quenard" . I tend to say "Koonard" and I have heard it called "Knard) Any thoughts?? Barry
