  1. Carefully consider the times in port. It has been suggested that Europe based ships that have mostly European clientele spend shorter times in port, because the guests have mostly been to the ports before and are just onboard for the ship/relaxation. And I would probably book the trend. I don’t go for the newest, biggest ship. Actually, I would book the smallest, which for Costa would be the Pacifica. For MSC, Seaview. May I ask why you are only considering these two lines? EM
  2. I’ve read and reread this thread, and can’t find if you ever mentioned how old/young your daughter is. I’m enjoying reading about Seaside as I have been on her before and will be again for a week next month. But not in YC. EM
  3. I have only been able to see one at a time. To see another I have to log out and sign back in with another booking number. To log out, click on profile at the bottom, and then in the upper right is the little tool wheel. Lick on that, and from the drop-down menu, logout. EM
  4. Price difference may reflect time of year…Northern Europe isn’t where I would choose to get away to in February. EM
  5. My relatives live in Macungie, so I usually stay on rte. 100 at Foglesville. So this was at the Starlite Diner on 100 just below I76. My grand niece calls it The Shiny Diner. They are also good at two Trivet restaurants, one on Tilghman St. and another in Emmaus. My family prefer the one on Tilghman. There is also another diner on Tilghman with good croquettes. Sometimes the shiny diner has salmon croquettes on the lunch menu. EM.
  6. I have two cruises booked for August and I didn’t wait for final pay date because I would be on the road then. The one I booked o line, I was able to go to the booking and make the payment. The one that was booked over the phone with the MSC agency I had to call to pay. There was no way to pay online. MSC agency, you say? Well, I had people calling me saying they were my rep from MSC. One called the day after I booked the first cruise, and with them I booked the second cruise as a B2B. But it looked like I booked with an agency. Funny thing is, they have the same street address and suite as the MSC HQ in Miami. Just a different phone number. EM
  7. I googled walking map of Nassau and got a number of images. I did a screen shot and enlarged it. Is this what you are looking for?
  8. Is your 5y/o comfortable sleeping in an upper bunk? Some of those interiors only have bunks. EM
  9. Pipe dreams, I know, but I would like to see one of the older, smaller ships sail from JAX, my closest port. I know Armonia class could fit under the bridge, and I think Musica class, too. Some five day cruises from JAX and Port Canaveral. EM
  10. If you pine for chicken croquettes, stop into a diner in the Allentown area of PA. There were two, I donated this one to family…. EM
  11. What cruise line? Many do not allow alcohol other than wine to be brought onboard. EM
  12. I would suggest going to cruisetimetables.com and choose each Florida port and see what is sailing in your time frame. EM
  13. Not all ships have a couch that can be moved. EM
  14. How full is the cruise? If it is sold out with a waitlist, ask if you can volunteer to move to another date…. EM
  15. We were on HAL and took the bus transfer and ‘Florence on your own’. The guide on the bus walked us to the plaza where Santa Croce is, showed us a leather shop where we could use the restrooms, and from there we were on our own. EM
  16. They did them in Bermuda last month. EM
  17. Did either of your children participate in the kids programs? Asking because people come here and ask about the programs. No kids here… EM
  18. Post #1, paragraph 2, Seaside. Post #6, paragraph 1, Port Canaveral. EM
  19. Northern Europe, Baltic, UK, Iceland… I would avoid the Med. In summer, particularly July and August. Beastly hot and August is the month many Europeans have vacations, so places are crowded. Leave the Med for the shoulder seasons. It’s probably hot in MI in the summer, so go somewhere cooler, leave the Caribbean for winter. EM
  20. I haven’t sailed a Carnival ship larger than Magic. Don’t want to. But I’m an old lady. But if it is her first cruise, Magic will wow her. No need to start with the newest, biggest. EM
  21. I have two cruises booked and I could on,y see one in the app. But when I clicked on profile, there is a tool icon in the upper right. Click on it, and you have the option to logout. If you do that, you can then log in with the other booking number. EM
  22. The Prinsendam is still around, only now she is called Amera and sails for Phoenix Reisen. EM
