  1. Push the queen bed against one wall and take the mattress off the bunk and put it on the floor next to the bed. There really is t space for an extra cot in an inside or OV cabin. EM
  2. There is no fare differential for children. They are all guests occupying a seat in a lifeboat. Often you will see a reduced rate for the 3/4 person, but it applies to anyone who is the 3/4 person. EM
  3. Welcome to Cruise Critic. I can tell you that is a larger cabin, although I have personally not stayed in it. Cruisedeckplans.com has pictures of that cabin on Millie and Summit. It is a website worth joining, even with the small fee. You can earn the fee back by submitting cabin and ship pictures. If you ask on the board here for Celebrity cruises, you may get more specific answers. Not many people visit this board. EM
  4. Is this a full or partial transit? For partial transits there are no independent excursions allowed. And all those going on excursions have to tender ashore. If this is a full transit with an overnight at Fuerte Amador it would depend on whether you are docking or tendering. EM
  5. Ask on the West Coast Departures board, under North American Homeports. EM
  6. This is what an inside for four looks like on Ruby. When the bunks come down, part of it will be over the bed and after stooping to get by you will have to maneuver around the ladder off the foot of the bunk. And when the bunks are stowed, you will bruise your shoulder going by it. Better to split the Queen into twins. Pic pinched from cruisedeckplans. EM
  7. I would not plan on enrichment lectures on a long cruise on Carnival, unless it is listed as a Journeys cruise. EM
  8. Almost always the lowest fare is non-refundable. That’s just the way it is these days. EM
  9. Yes, you do. But membership is cheap. Come back from your cruise and submit pictures of your cabin at $.50 each, and pictures around the ship at $.25 and you soon earn back your membership fee. For a person who is fanatical about seeing cabins, it is a no brained. EM
  10. Cruisedeckplans has pics of 6016, 6022, 6028. All the same. EM
  11. You should be asking this on the board here for HAL, where the cabin experts live, especially @RuthC. There also might be pics on Halfacts. But those two cabins are exactly the same size. The large K cabins are on Main deck, wonderful cabins. J and K on main deck are the preferred insides, followed by some I cabins. EM
  12. Keep in mind that once you leave Seattle/Vancouver you are in Canadian waters, the shore is Canada almost until Ketchikan so definitely roaming and Canadian towers, scarce as they may be. As far as receiving notifications goes…I’m wondering if they would come through an Apple Watch? I know I often don’t feel/hear texts when they come in on my phone, but I feel them first on my wrist from my watch. Now, I have no way to test this as I currently cruise solo and at the moment only on Carnival (because I can drive to the port). EM
  13. I’m wondering how the name of the parents is spelled on the BC. Or is it a short form, just name, date, and place of birth? Or is it the souvenir ‘birth certificate’ from the hospital? EM
  14. If your cruise is closed loop, returning to Barcelona, there will be no immigration check when you get off the ship. Same if it a cruise ending in another port if it is a Schengen country. You will have to show passport at the airport but next immigration will be in the USA. EM
  15. I go off Elation a week ago. Was anticipating my first cruise without passport, but the renewal came in the mail the day before the cruise. Getting off, at the foot of the gangway they said bc right, passports left. I had passport in hand, she saw it and said to put it away, I wouldn’t need it. Facial recognition was great! But…I was the only person in a huge room. It’s worth the price…. EM
  16. Your birth certificate and government issued photo ID will be fine as long as it is closed loop from US port. EM
  17. If he had a passport, this would have been noticed and corrected long ago. EM
  18. The mods don’t start the roll calls, cruisers do. I don’t know what ship that is, but suspect it would go under Other Cruise Lines roll calls. EM
  19. Are you getting a ‘kids sail free’ rate for the cabin with the younger kids? MSC has been reported not to issue extra key cards for cabins. when we sailed Seaside, you could get a bracelet that did everything the card did except click you off and back on the ship. If they are still offering that it would be a way to gain access to the other cabin. Everyone get a bracelet and swap them out just for room access. But I thought I had read here they discontinued the bracelets. EM
  20. Your best bet is to know portion sizes. If you look in on any of the ‘Live from…’ threads, they often post menus for the MDR. Menus are standard across the fleet, not ship specific or itinerary focused. EM
  21. I have heard that when you go in to ‘check in’ you should go directly to choosing arrival time and do the rest later. You could do this for each person/booking so hopefully you could all get the same time. When you add your payment method, it should ask you if any others on the booking are included. EM
  22. What time do you go to the steakhouse? I am finding the most everything on the MDR menu is available in the buffet. Why don’t you go to the buffet before you go to the steakhouse and see if it is available. Or if you have anytime dining go after the steakhouse and tell them you only want dessert…but order the calamari. EM
  23. Well, things don’t happen fast here. It could be that if there are replies they don’t want to remove it, especially if there is nothing in it that is against CC guidelines. You might just ask them to modify and remove the price at request of organizer/vendor. EM
