  1. No dental care available onboard. They may be able to set you up with a doc at the next port. EM
  2. There is no zeroing down in Europe. Treat it like any other port day. You may have to meet to get your new card, or you might receive it in an envelope the night before, with an intransit pass and any further instructions. EM
  3. I would ask your local pharmacy where to get one and if your physician orders it, will insurance or Medicare pay for it. EM
  4. Children under 16 do not need a photo ID. But you might ask your state DMV (drivers license place) if she can get an official state ID. EM
  5. The twin is about 33” wide, put together as a Queen they are 66”. I traveled with my sister so they were separated. My last cruise I was solo and had beds separated, but won’t do that again. I have back and hip problems and tried piling pillows behind back, under legs, and they were falling off the side. EM
  6. Do your wife or kids have an old cellphone/smartphone they could give you? You do not need cell service to download the app, using Wi-Fi. I could use my old iPhone SE (1st gen) if I did t have a newer one. EM
  7. What is your last port before Piraeus? If it is a Schengen country, there will be no immigration on debarkation. You would be free to debark any time but if before the official debark routine you would probably have to handle your own luggage. Edit: I assume you are on Infinity, and it looks like there are no Schengen countries on your itinerary. So I don’t know if the ship will collect your passports and take care of it on your final sea day, or you will have to do it ashore. EM
  8. With your single supplement you have already paid for the phantom second person. So all that is added is the taxes and fees. EM
  9. For ship and cruise line specific questions, it is faster to post on the board here for that cruise line, in this instance, Royal Caribbean. Many more people visit that board than this one. Welcome to Cruise Critic. EM
  10. You might ask on the board here for HAL about Easter services. HAL often has a priest onboard with daily mass. That might suffice, even if Protestant. Welcome to Cruise Critic. EM
  11. Those pictures represent a Spirit class ship where the dividers open toward the railing. But most of the ships have a portion of the divider that folds inward, and depending on the location of the doors, it would block access through one of the balcony doors. Because of this, Every other pair of cabins cannot be joined, and three in a row can’t be. EM
  12. Years ago I booked a TA solo because my sister didn’t know if she could arrange the time off. As a solo, I was paying for two, as the single supplement. When she said she could go, in just had to pay about $24 in taxes and fees. Other times I book the two of us online, Early Saver, but there was no way to add her correct name. They always used my last name with TBA for her first name. I first tried to correct the name all at once, but ES looks at that as changing a person. So what I did was go into her data and modify, changing the first name, then saving. Then I went back into her reservation again to modify, and changed the last name. It worked.
  13. If Princess (and HAL) sell a cruise as 14 days, even though you can also book it as 7 days, the menus will be a 14 day cycle, or even 21 days. Occasionally a dish will be repeated, but never the same full menu. If you book a B2B of two 7 day cruises with the same weekly itinerary, the menus will be on a 7 day cycle, so will repeat. EM
  14. Heading back out through Agua Clara locks today.
  15. I think they used to be down, pillows, anyway. We did 24 days on NA in 2012 and after a week of increasing stuffiness I asked for hypoallergenic pillows and all was fine. Duvets don’t bother me. EM
  16. There is a website called Ships Nostalgia where they can give a lot of links to where crew lists, career lists are filed. Mostly deals with merchant marine but there are always new members trying to trace the history of relatives. You might look it up and figure out where to post your query. Most of the members are Brits…. EM
  17. That area used to be the ilounge, looks like it still is on the other S class. EM
  18. She is doing a partial transit of the Panama Canal today:
  19. Some do, some don’t . It is shown on the deck plans. All verandas have sofas but not all are sofa beds. EM
  20. Another group they are trying to phase out is solo cruisers. I am having a very difficult time trying to book a solo cabin in any grade on some lines. EM
  21. Yes, you can load up with books on both, and as long as you have them in your device, not in the Library/cloud, you don’t need Wi-Fi to access them. A paperwhite. Or similar is best for reading by the pool in sunshine. Harder to read on a kindle fire or iPad. If you are reading books that have pictures and involves colors, you would want the tablet. EM
  22. Depends on the ship. We had a table for at least 14 on Seaside. Big round table. Ended up with just four, great service. But there were three dining times that cruise and I believe they had 15at the next seating, and 16 at the third. EM
  23. I would bet this was taken in Bermuda, where this is standard business wear.
