  1. There are no stairs to go down, One must go to the forward section of the ship to go down to deck 5 and then walk to the aft. Ember and Red Ginger are in that area. Not well planned. Terri
  2. Good morning to all. It wasn’t until late yesterday that I realized that I never posted. Yesterday the SUN finally came out and we had blue skies,. What a wonderful sight! Today looks good too. We had enough rain for quite a while. I was ready to start building an Ark! Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for your dedication to this thread. i like the quote. I also had a Pisco Sour in Chile. And we do have a bottle of Pisco that we brought home. Maybe we will open it today and try to make a sour. Will pass on the meal I remember that we stopped at La Samana but did not get off the ship that day. Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well and went to bed early. Slept 9 hours and feeling good today. I am doing well with my new Laptop and do not miss my old IMac at all. @Tbay A very Happy Birthday to You @ottahand7 A beautiful wedding photo of your niece and her husband. Many blessings to them as they begin their life together. Prayers to all who need them, especially Annie and Chuck, Terry and Tana. Hope everyone has a good day. God Bless, Terri
  3. The MDR menu you pulled up is a sample of their offering. The menu changes every evening. There are three offerings that are offered each evening. Salmon, steak and chicken. Did you look at the menu for Tuscan Steak and for Red Ginger as well? There are other beef offerings at these specialty restaurants as well. On the other R ships the Specialty Restaurants are different than Sirena. They are Polo and Toscana. In Polo there are many beef offerings. I suggest that you look at the sample menus for the spcialties for each ship as they do differ slightly. The O Ships ( Riviera and Marina) offer 4 specialties (Polo, Toscana, Jacques, and Red Ginger) as does Vista. On Vista Ember replaced Jacques. I hope this helps. Terri
  4. I wish @Firstin87 would respond to the question as to how to cancel an excursion online. Terri
  5. I am aware of that. There was a lady on the HAL Board who prefaced each post (and there were many) that she always stayed in a suite. it got old fast. Terri
  6. Glad to see you back. Terri
  7. I do not know about the concierge/veranda cabins on the Nautica because I have only stayed in a PH (I am not bragging) on the Nautica. However on the Vista I have stayed in both and i can tell you that the Concierge/Veranda drawer space is quite limited. I have read that the Vista will be the ship that will be used for the ATW in 2026. I cannot imagine how anyone staying in any cabin other than a PH will be able to manage with the storage space provided, unless they add cabinets for that lengthy cruise. Terri
  8. I would like the answer to this question as well. Terri
  9. I have been on Vista twice and have had breakfast in the GDR. Unless things have changed, I believe that is still the case. Terri
  10. Check your math. The number is 89.
  11. Looking forward to meeting you. We are driving to Miami and staying there for three days prior to the cruise. If you are arriving early perhaps we can get together then as well. Terri
  12. Good morning from Bluffton, SC where the skies are unbelievably blue! We have not seen the sun in a long time. We do expect rain later today. Thank you to Rich for the Fleet Report and Daily. Thank you to Vanessa for keeping up with all of us. I think you can take us off the Cares list as it appears we are past the danger area with TS Debby. Thankfully we have come through without any problems. Thank you all for your prayers and concern. Thank you to the F&B team—Debbie, Ann and Dixie. Not sure what we will do yet for dinner. We have been to Corfu a few times and have always enjoyed our visit to that island. I hope we can all dry out over here. It is so nice to see the sun. I was beginning to think I needed to build an ark! Have a great day everyone. God Bless, Terri
  13. @RMLincoln Maureen, I am so happy for you. I hope you have a wonderful time. Terri
  14. I am so sorry this happened to you. To tell you that you should have booked earlier does not help What I will suggest is that you go down to deck 5 as soon as you embark the ship and explain your situation. Tell them it is your anniversary and you wanted to make it special. Hopefully they may be able to help you. Too bad you are not in a PH and have a butler who might be able to work his magic. Be firm but nice and let the reservation person how important this is to you. If that does not work, I would go to Embers and ask the Maitre’d and ask if he could help. If it is the same one that has been there before (I don’t remember his name), he is a reasonable person, and met be able to accommodate your group. I hope you can celebrate your anniversary in style. If not, try one of the other specialties. Toscana is very nice and maybe that might work Good luck. Let us know what happens. Terri
  15. i hope you are happy with the storage space in the Concierge stateroom. On the Vista the drawer space was quite limited. Last November we booked the last room on the Vista and we had to take an A1 and was surprised at the limited storage space. I hope Oceania has made some adjustments on the Allura. Hope to meet you on the Nautica in NOvember. Terri
  16. Not at all. I really hope you will share your experiences. If you wish to declare yourself an expert, go right ahead. Terri
  17. Hi Penny, Thankfully that is not the community where I live. That area is in a very low lying area. Part of the problem there is that after the roads flooded, cars were driving by and causing waves that caused water to enter the houses. I live in an area where we are 20 feet above sea level. So far the pond behind our house has not overflowed. There are some puddles that are getting larger and inching their way to the back of our house. Hopefully they will not get larger. The golf cart path is semi flooded but I think the golf course is absorbing a lot of the water. So far we are okay and still have power. Latest photo.
  18. I have 215 Days on Oceania on all the ships except the Regatta. I have three more cruises booked. I think I can speak from experience. However, I shudder from what I read sometimes on these boards. I have read reports from some who have taken one 7 day or 10 day cruise and think they know everything. And then there are those who have to brag that they are on the best stateroom on the ship. Who cares! I enjoy each cruise I am on. I learn something new on each one. If I can share it with others I am happy to do so. To each his own.
  19. i echo @DENIE. It is nice to receive advice from those who have a good number of cruises from a cruse line under their belt. i am always amazed at those who have taken one or two cruises on a cruise line and consider themselves a self-proclaimed experts on that line. Terri
  20. Good morning from a very rainy and soggy Bluffton, SC with no sign of stopping. 🌧️⛈️ So far we are still safe and still have our power and WiFi. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it remains like that. Thank you again for all your prayers and concern and most of all encouragement. Prayers for all of you and thank you to all who contribute to this thread. I love you all. God Bless, Terri
  21. Maureen, So happy for you. Enjoy your cruise. It is still raining here and there is no chance of it stopping til Friday. This is what my back yard looks like tonight. It is getting close to the back porch. i’ll try to take a better picture tomorrow. Terri
  22. It is strange that the WiFi is working and so is the phone. No one came to fix anything and I doubt anyone will in the near future. I am just grateful that it is working. The Weather Channel shows that Debby is 15 miles South of Savannah, Georgia. We are about 20 north of Savannah. Since it is moving very slowly, I am sure she will be with us for a while, they say at least until Friday. We are not out of the woods yet, but we are about 20 feet above sea level where we live, so we have a bit of advantage. We are staying put and being very careful Thank you all for your concern. Terri
  23. I don’t live near those areas. While we have water in our back yard we are not flooded. The golf course is still okay. So are the roads. As long as we stay put, so far we are okay. Thank you Maureen.
