  1. I was just going to say the same. Maybe we were on the same cruise (11 Sept, 5 nights).
  2. I'm not sure why you want to use the App when, what you appear to want to access is available via MySaga or Manage My Booking. You don't need the App to access these. Go directly to it/them via your browser. You'll just need to set up a simple login ID and password. If I'm missing something ...??
  3. We've never had an issue on Royal Clipper with ciggie smoke either. We're both non-smokers.
  4. What is the App for? I wasn't aware of one either, but do use MySaga on my laptop.
  5. What do you mean by the "balcony has openings on both sides"?
  6. If the lunch buffet has finished (around 3.30-4pm, I think), there are snacks in "The Living Room" and also room service. Dinner service starts at 6.30, but you'll be assigned a restaurant and dining time on the first evening. If worst comes to the worst, I think you can speak to the Maitre'D and get it changed. Hopefully you'll be fine.
  7. When Saga let you know the pickup time, there's not really an option to negotiate a different time. Remember that, logistically, they're moving about 960 persons off the ship and the same number on again. However, let us know how you get on with your request, as our pickups seem to be getting later?
  8. I had to look up "Anna Navarro" but could only find an "Ana Navarro" who seemed to match your comments. Is that the one? Clearly I've never heard of her. I don't do Insta and so won't be watching anyhow. Azamara seems a shambles and I'm ignoring all offers until there's positive news on here. Such a pity as the itineraries are so tempting. Ah, I've just seen that Ana Navarro is on "The View" prog. Question answered,
  9. We were about 3.25 hours away from Dover and were picked up on Monday at 11am.
  10. Hi Kinniegirl, Saga will inform you of your pickup time a couple of weeks before your cruise. If you have booked direct with Saga, it will possibly appear on "MySaga" before you receive the documents via the post. Unfortunately, you cannot choose your own time. I hope that helps.
  11. The face cloths/flannels are replaced twice daily! Cabin service is amazing.
  12. We're on Spirit of Adventure now and are using WhatsApp daily. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but it's not blocked.
  13. Unfortunately TUI Flightextras show it as "full" for the date we want. I tried Flightextras via another travel company too, in case it is a glitch, but it returned the same message. MoBay airport's website and both TripAdvisor and Viator show availability.
  14. Do you have a preference between Tripadvisor and VIATOR? I was looking at booking direct with the airport because it seems to be a bit cheaper. Have you done it that way at all? I am a bit wary of the "reserve now and pay later" options on Tripadvisor and VIATOR. Is that the way you do it? If so, it must work?
  15. If there's a team dealing solely with Azamara, I assume it's a large UK-wide travel agent? I do wish you could name it.
  16. We like to choose our own table in the Grill (buffet restaurant). A staff member shows us to a particular area, but they don't object to us choosing the actual table. When tracing was in place for Covid, people were seated at specific tables; the table number was noted by the restaurant reception staff. We prefer the tables for two with banquette type seats.
  17. Try this link https://starclippers.co.uk/destinations/shore-excursions.html
  18. No emails at all here.
  19. Our first cruises were with Ocean Village, an off-shoot of P&O UK. Their 2 ships, Ocean Village and Ocean Village 2, were second-hand and originally built in 1989 and 1990. The standard ocean view cabins had very large walk-in showers, in fact large enough to have a stand-alone stool. So, the ship's age is not a factor. I don't recall the showers being a big issue on Azamara though, but have experienced far better since, even on a moderately priced river cruise boat.
  20. It would be helpful to know what level of tip is expected. We know that Americans are used to tipping, but it can be a dilemna for us in the UK.
  21. Good and bad. We recently had an excellent one in Belfast, which took us around areas that we hadn't seen before and wouldn't have seen if left to our own devices, eg. Falls Road, Shanklin Road, Stormont, as well as the City Hall. The loo stop was at a wonderful university building! On the same cruise, the tour of Dublin was not great. It was Good Friday and the guide didn't know that some places were closed. She relied heavily on the driver's knowledge. The worst we had was in Rotterdam in October 2021. We drove round in circles, passing some buildings 3 or 4 times and having the famous bridge pointed out several times, even though the ship was docked right up to it . Afterwards we learned that other groups had visited the cube houses, whilst we only saw them from a distance. The only stop was at a so-called picturesque harbour, which was anything but ...in my opinion. So, it's a mixed bag, and maybe also dependent on the guide you end up with.
  22. We were on a Marella (TUI) adults-only cruise in February. In the evenings, the majority of ladies (of all ages) wore far more dressy clothes than I've seen on formal nights on Saga, and not just on the "dress to impress" night. Of course, there was the dress-down brigade too, but we've also seen that on Saga with some ladies wearing tweed skirts and a cardi, even on a formal night. We've also sailed with Azamara; many seemed to interpret the dress code as golf course wear. Our next ocean cruises are with Saga and Marella. We'll see!
  23. That is terrible. A multi-national IT company that I worked for stated that the recipient of an enquiry should "own the problem" either by answering it or ensuring that someone else did.
