  1. Thank you for your quick reply. I will read ports of call on CC for more information about private tours.Always find that forum to be very helpful too. I have lots of time to do research. Almost all my cruises have been in Europe , so I see this cruise as a relaxed one to enjoy the view, beaches, water and food and of course the ship! We have a DV1 aft cabin which is our favorite.
  2. I am doing this itinerary in Oct 2025. Got a great deal. Having only been to Puerto Rico and St. Maarten on a Viking TA, I would like to know your experience of the various islands and ports. What excursion by Viking would you recommend? Are the ports of call easy to just walk into town or hire a taxi to see the highlights of the island? Did you do any of the food excursions? Which island was your favorite?
  3. Love all my Viking cruises, TA from San Juan to Barcelona, Bermuda, Western Med, Scenic Scandinavia. The embarkation ports of Malta and Stockholm are the best. Sailing out of Stockholm through the archipelago to the Baltic Sea was fabulous. Also waking up at the pier on Malta and watching a huge cruise ship come into the harbor was so special sitting on our aft cabin balcony.
  4. We too book a new cruise and rescheduled an upcoming cruise from 2025 to 2026. Kept all my onboard discounts when I originally booked this cruise. Got the promo price and also discount stated in the letter from Viking ( had to have a booking before Nov 21) for a new booking for 2025. I am a happy camper. But neither of these cruises are in 2024. ☹️So maybe I will find a last minute deal next year and book something.
  5. I just changed our sailing for Gr Odyessy in FEb. 2025( Viking Star) to April 2026 and we will be on the new Vesta!!!!! Looking forward to being on one of the new builds.
  6. Well, I just transferred my booking for 2025 to 2026 so we can celebrate my sister's birthday while on board. She is my younger sister.😂 I hope I will not need a scooter or other devices because I will be much older by then. Just praying I am still alive and have my wits about me. 🙏 Happy New Year 2024
  7. You re on a Holiday sailing from FL, at least 15 days. You will have an old crowd for sure . Younger folks do not ge that kind of vacation time . Our June 2023 Scandinavian cruise had a great mix of ages from 30's to 80"s . Lots of fit young, and middle age and older folks doing kayaking, hiking, bike excursions. I think it just depends on itinerary and time of year. Welcome to your first Viking Cruise !!!!!!!
  8. On our Scenic Scandinavian curse in June 2023, they also had CAVA on wine list at the Aquavit Bar. I was so very happy. I love CAVA more than Champagne. Usually , I bring a bottle on board but not this time. I always had a glass late afternoon when we met with friends after a day of excursions.
  9. Looking forward to your posts on another amazing World Cruise for you and your wife. I loved following along on the first World cruise where both you and Andy were on board. Cheers🥂 Patti I will also be reading Clay''s reports froom the Viking Sky WC too.
  10. Someone is getting excited!!!!!!!😁 Happy New Year ! You are starting out with a bang" World Cruise" . Looking forward to your reports along the way Cheer 🥂 Patti
  11. I am loving your trip report. I am usually ready to call it a night by (9;30 when on a cruise too.
  12. Feta Cheese, I hope you post a report of your cruise. That is one I would really like to do, looking at Dec 30, 2024, If I can get my sister to agree. Have to decide by Dec 31 for our promotion. I have never been to Hawaii .
  13. Wow! another new ship the Vela for 2025. Wonder where that ship will cruise ? thank you so much to all you do Char in putting this ongoing speed sheet together.
  14. Merry Christmas World cruisers. Now I have two WC to visually follow. The Viking Sky and The Viking Neptune ! Love to follow along on your great adventure. Will you ever meet up with the Sky at a port call during your WC?
  15. Jim, sorry you did not like some the changes on Celebrity. If you are shopping around, check out Viking Ocean. Many Celebrity cruisers have been drawn to their ships. You would love the Explorer Suite either aft of forward. VO only have 465 stateroom. but they do not have a casino and no children under 18. The staff is outstanding on board in every area. Safe travels home. I have so enjoyed following your trip report. Merry Christmas.
  16. I do not have instagram account. Please do post here too. I love your pictures. I know you will have a great world adventure and all the World Cruisers 🥂
  17. I prefer the aft location so I can watch the wake. Love DV1 #4123!
  18. Thanks so much for the heads up about that particular promotion. Good to know before I call Viking . BTW, I still have great memories about our TA cruise on the Viking Sea over Easter . Merry Christmas to you and your husband 🎄
  19. Look forward to following virtually your World Cruise ! I will never get to many of the ports you will visit so reading the thread during this winter will be a relaxing moment in my day.
  20. mmm, our cruises are 15 days or less and we usually do a Viking post extension. It is an online agency, and the consultant I used no longer works there. so new one called me and taking over our 2025 cruise, I booked on board June 23. I think I will ask him before I give him the new cruise we will book before Dec 31 with email promotion we received for past cruisers had an upcoming cruise scheduled. Can't remember if it had a code or not, but we hope to book a 2025 or 2026 cruise before the end of the year. Thanks Clay
  21. The TA I use gives the cost of the gratuities for each of us no matter what the length of cruise .
  22. Your pictures of the fjord is incredible. Just viewing them I felt so peaceful . Thank you 😍
  23. Look forward to reading your report . Safe travels to down under.
  24. Thank you for your review and why you love Viking Ocean ships. Same reason I do. I had two friends on your TA and they both said this sailing was perfection , the solo gatherings, service, food , and most of all the people they met made thus a never to be related cruise for them .
