  1. From the excursion details it's giving 20mins for the time to the Arizona. 7:30 start time, going against most traffic, that should be about right.
  2. 9:30 this am, Uber was $25-35, $70 for Lyft and $87 for LA City Cab.
  3. Emerald still shows in dry dock in Rotterdam, but doesn't sail with passengers till the 28th from Southampton. The Crown left dry dock in Portland on the 17th and sailed on time from Vancouver on the 18th.
  4. 175 days out for me and I got it. Sent by USPS
  5. The Crown did have a high cruising speed for awhile from Portland to Vancouver so hopefully the bearing problem was fixed. I'd also like to know what else was done. I'm hoping TV's were installed on the walls and off the cabinet, gives extra storage.
  6. The power isn't cut 70%, maybe the noise.Actually now, we just use a standard noise abatement profile. At 800' power reduction to climb thrust, maintain pitch and attitude to 3000', then accelerate and flap retraction. This procedure is know as an NADP1 as is world wide, It gives you the greatest altitude over distance. We used to have to make a standard briefing prior to departure from the Orange County Santa Ana John Wayne International airport on the 757. The attitude is the same target pitch we always use, only kept to 3000' rather than 1500' on a "normal NADP2 departure. Jet Blue wasn't using all their slots year round so SWA was able to "use" those when JB didn't. LGB didn't want to open a customs/immigration facility so that put the nail in it for JB It's not the procedure, but the phasing out of older aircraft and engines. Did you know we could get a waiver once airborne to exceed the curfew by 13 minutes. I was told it was so FAA only had to pay 1st 15mins of overtime. The other good urban lore is that John Wayne himself was one of the biggest noise complainers.
  7. Carnival is great if you sail while schools are in. Food availability is a lot better on Princess,ie: hours of availability Carnival breakfast buffet is a no go, but the Huevos Rancheros at Blue Iguana are a hit Carnival rooms ( only have done balcony/suite ) have a small loveseat. No bitching about missing barrel chair. Carnival has better comedians ( tell me one time a Princess comedian DIDN'T have a joke about shower curtain or no window in cabin as they are underwater. Rinse/Repeat/Rinse.........) Princess a lot quieter. Carnival more choices of specialty food venues. Guys Burgers have at least 100% of daily sodium intake. As far as I know, no big fights on Princess. Enjoy Carnival, when with our kids and grandkids, Princess when we go alone to relax.
  8. Princess is going to get the people who booked through them on excursions first off. These excursions don't all leave at the same time. Not all Elite ( loyalty status ) people will want to get off as soon as they can. Check roll calls and ask from reviews what others experienced.
  9. I have ovr 750K points on Allstate, and they are my insurance, but they don't have Princess cards. I do use points for our Carnival cruises. AARP hasn't worked out as I hoped.
  10. So here's my story: On the 15th, I "tried" to buy 5 Princess $500 cards for $2250. Error message said 3rd party problem, no red banner about cart being bad. From 15th to 19th, I tried phone, changing browser, Daughters laptop etc..... On the 2oth I opened my credit card to see a $20,000.00 balance owed.....WT??? Called AARP, sorry call your credit card company So Barclays tells me all disapproved and will drop off NOT SO FAST!!!!!!! Later on 20th I see I'm now sitting on a $15,000 credit. Seems AARP refunded 16 cards instead of 8, oh well figure they'll find out and fix. NOPE They reversed and I'm still owing $20,000 Call Barclays, sorry you need to go back to AARP Now it's pushed up to resolution desk and check back in 2-3 business days if you don't hear from us. The only way to get the cards is through the Cart so if you need Princess cards this month to BAD.
  11. We plan to arrive 2 days before our cruise at LHR and will take a private car to Southampton. Any recommendations on areas to stay. We will cab it to the dock on cruise day so we don't have to mess with our luggage. We've both been to London several times and want to stay close to port. Looking for easy walking to restaurants, outdoor area, etc. Mahalo.
