  1. I need to add my two cents here. DH was diagnosed with Covid on the Regal in January this year. Since we were out of the US our plan stated they did not cover. Once we got home, we filed a claim with AON (as mentioned above) and a large portion of the medical expenses incurred was covered. It didn’t take as long as we expected. (PS Hubby did fine, we’re both boosted, he took Paxlovid and turned neg by day 5). Princess even credited him with 5 days worth FCC). 😎
  2. We were on the Emerald in June, spent an afternoon in the Sanctuary. Yes, teatime still exists. Love it! So much food to choose from. My favorite is the orange scones, complete with jam and cream.
  3. Same here, from June cruise. Am anxiously awaiting anEZAir refund and thought somehow was related? Crazy!
  4. Hi all: booked on Feb ‘24 SA cruise, ending in BA. Looking for tour on last day with possible drop off at airport. Thanks for any ideas!
  5. We’ll be there in Feb ‘24, anything else to do nearby? Thanks!
  6. We’ll be there Feb ‘24, have reservations for the Hotel Plaza San Francisco. Saw a few reviews/comments about “marginal” neighborhood. Wondering if you happen to know anything about this hotel? Thanks!
  7. Yes, that is good to know. I always check lint filter inside door before turning dryer on.
  8. I usually do laundry once (on at least a 7 day) and use the pods. My complaint is the dryers. I always have to do two cycles to get everything almost dry, and I don’t overload. Seems it’s like that on the last few ships we’ve been on. Funny story, last cruise in June was on the Emerald and we booked a suite. After hearing all the negative comments about sending out laundry, I decided not to take advantage of the suite perk. Our cabin steward came in while we were out, saw laundry (jeans) spread out to fully dry. Upon returning, we found he had put the laundry bag and ticket on the bed. Shortly thereafter, he knocked and wanted to remind us we had complimentary laundry. Told him nicely I liked to do it myself. He just sweetly said “yes ma’am.” Great guy!😂😉
  9. Laughing here! That was my DH reaction when he tested + on the Regal. He said maybe a nice strong Tequila will help.” We’ve been taking along all sorts of Covid related items (test kits, as above, pocket and larger bottle sanitizer, masks, Lysol spray and wipes for the cabin, thermometer, BP cuff, need to add Paxlovid in our cruise). We’re both medical so we grab as much as possible. PS I lucked out, did not turn + when he had it. Advice: pack prepared.
  10. Yes, I saw that…our next cruise is Feb ‘24. Been with Princess quite a while, guess I have to roll with the “punches.” Not enough for us to look elsewhere. The bottom line for them is always the focus. What can we do? Roll with it or move on, but then a good many are making similar moves!
  11. I agree with what was mentioned above. If you can, go to Brokerage’s web site, print out a statement from same day, with your name, etc. Black out sensitive info and either email or snail mail. That should do it. All they require is a confirmation that you have 100 shares of CCL.
  12. I agree! The first thing that caught my eye was the new charge for Alfredo’s. We normally eat there 2-3x per cruise. One of our favorites!
  13. Hopefully that has not changed. We upgraded to Plus on the Emerald in June, so that could use the OBC. They also refunded the $10. we paid for Medallion delivery.
  14. So, correct me if I am wrong but isn’t it a “perk” of sailing in a suite to order off the menu? Didn’t see anything mentioned about discontinuing that? But then again, very ambiguous on several things. Certainly needs clarification.
  15. The cruise was great! I believed I mentioned we stayed overnight in SF. Day 1 we took the Hoho bus for the entire loop, got off at several stops and further explored. Day 2 we decided against Sausalito based on some recommendations and did discover many of the shops we were interested in would not be open. We stayed in SF and did a lot of walking and exploring. Just a great city to wander around (we were aware of some areas to avoid), I hope that Sausalito will rebound in the near future, looks like it would be a cool place to visit. I highly recommend Princess cruises!
  16. I need to share a very positive experience a few weeks ago on the Emerald. Every meal we had (and we ate in various venues, from Reserve Dining, to MDR to Sabatini’s) was just right. The beef dishes in particular were spot on. Perhaps some were not seasoned as we like, but was easily fixed with a bit more added at the table. It was probably the most consistently good food we’ve had on any cruise thus far. No complaints at all!
  17. We always enjoy breakfast in Sabatini’s, another great perk.
  18. That’s a win! 😎 Multiple ways to order…via cabin phone, Medallion app on your phone/iPad, etc or cabin TV under food/drink. Food takes a bit of time but we would frequently order only a reg coffee and cappuccino and it would arrive in less than 20 min. Or use the room service card your steward places in your room night before, schedule for your preferred time. You can even order a carafe of coffee from room service if you like. It showed up earlier each time. Enjoy!
  19. This is true but…usually very difficult to find a seat in the Piazza. What works for us (for our first cuppa) is room service using the app. Never had to wait more than 20 min., always served hot.
  20. Excellent review and SO wonderfully detailed! Agree with it all 100%. We’ve done one SF-Hawaii and loved it. Guess we were lucky and did not experience any bad weather to or from. The day on the Big Island was rainy but didn’t really stop our plans. The entertainment on board as mentioned above, was wonderful. Enjoyed the final show of the hula dancers and ukuleles was memorable and special. Can’t wait to do another Hawaii cruise! Enjoy!!!
  21. We too purchased “Plus” on first day of cruise two weeks ago on the Emerald. The main advantage to this is that we were able to use our generous OBC to reduce the total cost. Re: $10. charge to mail Medallions, we did not have the Plus package (before boarding) but elected to have Medallions mailed. There was just the $10. charge for mailing our two in the same box.
