  1. The first photo shows a view from the Cafe Carinthia to the main lobby, the second one is the forward part of the Cafe Carinthia.
  2. I am very sorry @Host Hattie. You are so kind in hosting this board, you and your husband deserve better. All the best.
  3. May another evening in the beautiful lounges of the Queen Elizabeth begin.
  4. No problem what so ever. The menu is set up for five courses anyway, but you can add as many as you like.
  5. I just took a few pictures of one of the bars' list. They might give you an idea.
  6. Currently I am able to post this because A) I am waiting for a tender in the crowded Queens room, and B) I bought the premium Internet package for the last days using my diamond internet discount. It is rather reliable and has worked everywhere I have tried other than the balcony. Well, now as I have it, I use it, yet I did not miss it the first week when I happily lived without internet.
  7. What we are all waiting for is a real production show. There is a group of very young dancers on board but other than short stints the first night and as assistants to Alfie Boe they did not appear. I do not know what for they are on board. It's rather disappointing not to have even one proper production show.
  8. Yesterday there was the premiere of a new show: The great British songbook. What it turned out to be was a concert of the four cast singers with the combined on board orchestras and classical musicians performing. They covered pop songs from The Beatles and Queen to Adele and Ed Sheeran. Allright.
  9. These were the activities of yesterday's improptu seaday.
  10. For the activities I will try to post some photos; there are activities like lectures, quizzes and Sports competitions. We did not get any refund for the missed ports per se. Of course booked excursions were refunded to the original way of payment.
  11. Today I used for the first time ever the "Brunch menu" from room service. The small list of plated Breakfast items is a good addition if one missed Breakfast and its to early for the main Menü, abailable after noon.
  12. Thanks to the advice given by various kind posters on this forum, I knew that it is possible to ask for a couple of items which do not appear automatically. Such as: Soaps bars Laundry list and bag Always available dishes in Britannia Everything was provided friendly and efficiently.
  13. So this is another sea day. Fortunately the captain keeps the ship slowly movie between island and main Land in the Ligurian des to protect us from the heaven winds and sea. Yet, he already announced that at about 4 pm we will have to go to the open sea with high swells again. Thus it is pool deck time for me now. There are a few clouds but basically it is a sunny das
  14. Some, @bluemarble and others, might find the itinerary changes I mentioned in my notes thread interesting. Current position is 42 27 2 N and 5 48 6. I do not know if this already reflects a change in course.
  15. On Thursday we will go to Portoferraio instead, yet due to the short notice, no excursions will be offered. Indeed all day long the winds have been strong today, waves keep the Queen Elizabeth rocking and the promenade deck has been partly closed.
  16. The captain just came over the cannot to announce some important changes: Due to the bad weather that are the high winds, both next port stops, Cannes and Livorno, have been cancelled.
  17. It is fixed, 20.15 h. They do offer shared table. Indeed we have great people on our table.
  18. Tonight's sailaway is at 11pm, thus there is music outside. This is rather nice as on no other nights than embarkation nights anything is happening on deck at all. Even this is not really a sailaway or deck party. The Newfoundland Folk Duo is playing, weil, kind of folk songs, nice to listen but not lending for a party at all. A number of people hoped to see some of the great final la merce fireworks but they were not to be seen from the ship. (or rather just the tops of the few highest going ones)
  19. Talking about sparkling: We did not get any Pol Acker! The welcome bottle was Italian, a Contessa spumante, later we got a Cava Jaume Serra.
  20. As of yesterday there were 1653 passengers in board, more than 1000 of which were from the UK. About 100 guests were from Korea. They had specific guides and events available but no announcements were made in Korean. Indeed, no language group appears to have been large enough to warrant announcements.
  21. Outside the shows Alfie Boe was quite appoachable, too. Many got photos or a chat with him. On two nights he and his encourtage helped the Yacht club to go strong and late.
