We go for second sitting because it is too rushed for first sitting.
We ask for a table of 6 as it is easier to talk to everyone on this size table, so we think.

My husband was told that he couldn't wear a sleeveless tee shirt in the restaurant for breakfast. He went back and changed so it was not a problem

We tried some of them on Q V this May. We didn't have any of them twice. It was interesting seeing how they were presented.

Referring back to the night when the ship was hit by a wave, did the 5° list have any effect on the level of the water in the pools?

Lovely to read your reviews again

Could they be updating the prices?

According to the Cunard website, Q V is due for a refit in June next year.

We are consider a cruise next month, but will not be in a position to book until 5 days before it leaves. Other than the obvious issue of availability, has anyone had any issues booking this late?

We had issues with our waiter and wine waiter on our recent cruise. We let it go on day one but it was the same on day 2. We complained to Guest Services on day 3 and the maitre'd phoned us. We explained the issues and at dinner that night our wine waiter apologised and the head waiter for our area checked that everything was fine for the rest of the voyage. The other people on our table thanked me as they had the same issues. There was no bad atmosphere that we noticed. Always complain, don't let it ruin your holiday.

When we were in Dublin last year several of the coaches were not back until after 6 o'clock. Anyone who was on early sitting would have had to have used the Lido, or room service.

My husband would just wear a tee shirt over his swim shorts. After all, some swim shorts look like shorts anyway.

The pre voyage documentation for our recent cruise said we would have 4 formal nights so I took 4 outfits. Once we were on board we found that there would only be 3. If numbers can be reduced I am sure they can also be increased once on board so take outfits you would be happy wearing more than once. Having said that, I only notice how people look on the night and not whether they have worn the outfit before or not.

We were thinking of getting a wine package but when we checked the prices of the wines included in the Captains collection it didn't seem that much of a bargain. We found each of the wines on the wine list and it was more expensive to purchase the package than buy the wines individually. It is possible that the wine list was not up to date, in which case the package might be worth buying.

Does anyone have the menu for the Golden Lion?

Can anyone tell me if the space in the shower cubicle in an ocean view room on Queen Victoria is the same, or smaller than the shower cubicle in a balcony room please?

I have ordered kedgeree twice when I was travelling in the Grills. Once, it was delicious. Once, not quite as good.

I have worn normal long dresses on informal nights and not felt out of place. To be honest, I don't normally notice what other people are wearing. Once you are sitting at a table no one can tell the length of your dress.

I went to the lessons on my own. The instructor paired people off. If there was an odd number he joined in as well.

On our last 2 cruises I asked, on the first night, if we could have the menus at the end of the trip. We are not normally given the menu for the last night and some of the dates on the menus have been for the previous week but they are still a lovely keepsake.

On formal nights there are a few areas of the ship where passengers who don't want to dress up, for whatever reason, are welcome. Instead of getting upset about people who don't dress up just avoid those areas if the dress code is so important.
Cunard have made it possible for everyone to have somewhere they will be comfortable so why tell others that Cunard is not for them? Everyone is welcome.
Incidentally, I love dressing up but would encourage anyone to try Cunard, so long as they were aware of the restrictions.

I have an extreme version of this. We are now unable to cruise at all next year and we were looking forward to a family cruise.

Our M&G in May was at 10.00pm in the Commodore Club under the picture on the starboard side on the first evening. Everyone had finished dinner and there was a small, but sociable meet up. We all left when we were tired.

Why not call Cunard and ask them?
