  1. On formal nights there are a few areas of the ship where passengers who don't want to dress up, for whatever reason, are welcome. Instead of getting upset about people who don't dress up just avoid those areas if the dress code is so important.

Cunard have made it possible for everyone to have somewhere they will be comfortable so why tell others that Cunard is not for them? Everyone is welcome.

Incidentally, I love dressing up but would encourage anyone to try Cunard, so long as they were aware of the restrictions.

  2. Our M&G in May was at 10.00pm in the Commodore Club under the picture on the starboard side on the first evening. Everyone had finished dinner and there was a small, but sociable meet up. We all left when we were tired.
  3. Why is it that

1 When I receive and email from Cunard I read it avidly even if this year is booked and next year is planned, but if I receive an email from a favourite hotel it only gets a cursory glance, even if I have nothing booked?

2 When I book a cruise I ask for a table of 6 but at a hotel I would hate to be told that I had to share a table?

3 Time passes more quickly on a ship than on land?

4 I am more inclined to exercise on a ship than on a land based holiday?

5 I am not usually hungry at lunchtime on a holiday in Britain but am famished at lunchtime on a ship?

  4. My first Cunard experience was a 17 night med cruise on QE2 in 2006. It was so relaxing and the best thing was my husband wasn't shattered by driving. The ship was beautiful and the food was wonderful. I had only visited Belgium and Crete until then so the list of countries I have visited expanded considerably.

  5. I have just received a copy of the Irish Times. Commodore Rynd is in one of the pictures. No picture of the Irish President even though he gave quite a long speech, part of which was reported.

  6. We were on the Lusitania Remembered voyage and contacted the Irish times to see if I could buy a copy of the paper that covered the event. They are very kindly sending me a copy of the paper that was published on 8th May, and not charging me! I am looking forward to adding this to my voyage souvenirs.
