We lucked out on ASCENT.. perfect weather, nice breeze, great sunset..nice table, excellent food and service.. Only one loud large group at a table nearby!
But to us this is a casual outdoor restaurant..not a traditional Specialty Restaurant.
Had a small glitch upon arrival..An after hrs pickle ball match including an activity staff member was still in progress...plink plink plink. They kindly stopped!
Don't expect a relaxing meal when the annoying sounds of pickle ball is going on. Check the hours of activities taking place in the adjacent area and plan your meal accordingly. The food was very good but there were only 2 servers for the entire dining area. The 2 worked very hard but more help was needed. Better food and service in Eden.

I have attended many events in the Eden area. It is not suited for shows and activities. Been there for trivia, golf putting, cornhole, art classes, cocktail hour, etc. Seating is lmiited. Seems more like a nice lounge area. Not many good seats to view shows.

I'm confused about "the entertainment in Eden". Do you just show up, or do you need reservations?
Thanks for these details. I enjoyed reading them.
You just show up. There are not many excellent seats so show up early.

I've not been on a celebrity cruise since 1998 (Mercury). What percentage of guys still wear their Tux on formal nights?
Thanks
People are not into dressing as much as they used to. My thoughts are that people tend to dress up most on the European cruises and least in Alaska. On our last few cruises in the Caribbean, I would say there were very few tuxedos on the dressy nights. Less than 1% of men.

hi, Is it possible for someone to share the email for the current eclipse concierge?
There has always been an insert with information on the Officers. A recent cruiser should have access to one.

When are you sailing? I am on APEX 3/25 and 10/26 and it is on my app for both.
We are sailing in February. No menu is listed but it does say lunch is $30. Nothing about a la carte on the cruise in that restaurant.
-
There is no Le Grand Bistro on the Eclipse.
I still am looking for examples of a la carte pricing. Guess I will have to wait until on the ship.

Maybe depends on the ship, I know on Apex it was $30
It was probably worth every penny as to avoid the mad house called Lunch in the Oceanview.

Recently on Apex and Edge... we dined in Le Grand Bistro several times for lunch at $30 each minus Elite + discount. Was never crowded at lunch on sea days and although we made reservations, we really didn't need them. The lunch time opening was only for about 2 hours. We showed up at noon and were seated right away. The items priced a la carte seemed to only be the premade sandwiches and pastries. Didn't see any prices for those on the menu. Great food... three courses - appetizer, main, dessert... HUGE burgers and other sandwiches, entrees, etc. Our favorite!
So you could still have lunch there for $30? I am confused as I thought all items were a la carte.

Check the app for your cruise. The menu is in there for our upcoming Beyond sailing.
No menu listed on our upcoming cruise on Apex.

Does anyone have information or the actual menu of the offerings/prices at Le Grand Bistro? Thinking of lunch there. Thank you.

Look for a bag in the draw. Nice quality one.

Sorry, there are no real sales. Cruisers think they are saving but when the price increases by 20% and there is a discount that amounts to 10%, that is obviously not a savings but it is a so called "sale".

You should bring along your final Booking Confirmation-Guest Copy. This shows your perks and OBC. This has been helpful for me.
Also, I have been asked to show my credit card upon boarding. This is done to confirm what I had reported when checking in online.
Have a great trip.

We were not able to order from the MDR menu on Reflection. It depends on the staffing numbers and the management. So we made arrangements to dine in the MDR.

My wife and I just booked Celebrity Beyond leaving FtLauderdale February 24th, more than 6 months out and the only available dining option is late seating at 8:30pm. Anyone have suggestion as to how we may be able to change this to either early dining or anytime dining? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I would not worry. When we were on Beyond, we were told that everyone had Anytime Dining despite what time you were assigned. We even had "reservations" but were told it was Anytime Dining and reservations not needed. Have a good trip.

On our cruise on Ascent, we did book pre-cruise as there was a modest discount. However, when we got onboard, discounts were ranging from 25% to 40% off. My opinion was it was related to the increase in price and how good the food was in the MDR. However, if you are celebrating a special event, book well in advance just in case.

We did luggage valet a few times on rccl and it was a free perk if your in a grand suite or larger , do celebrity suites have this perk?
Not free anymore.

Officer visibility is not that important to me. However, self-promoting oneself is not something I like on a cruise. Gets tiring really quickly in my opinion.

I am booked on a June 2025 British Isles out of Amsterdam. We haven’t cruised Celebrity since 2006 and did four cruises between 2000 and 2006 on Galaxy , Mercury and Century and we loved ships and food. Since then it’s been most.y Princess and Royal. Reading reviews on Celebrity website I see many many bad reviews for Eclipse, bad food , worn ship, lazy crew etc. I know Eclipse is set for a refurbishment ,ent in April 2025 so that should help some of the decor, but the food. ? We always loved Celebrity’s food and service . Has it gone down in quality and does it vary from ship to ship ?
You will notice some differences between Celebrity from the 2000 and 2006 time period. This is not to say you will not have a good time. The major changes I have found include room attendants no longer having an assistant and being responsible for more rooms by self. They tend to be overwhelmed by the increased responsibilities. Food also tended to be of better quality but that is my opinion. Still, we have had great cruises on Eclipse and other Celebrity ships despite the changes. I also do miss those smaller classic ships.

We did a cruise on Celebrity and had a good time. In retrospect, I wished we had considered Princess or Holland America for the itinerary. They go to places that Celebrity does not go to. We enjoyed a trip to the Yukon in Skagway and we did a float plane tour in Ketchikan. Both were highlights. Expect rain in Alaska. Some ports will get 230 days of measurable precipitation a year. Dress for wet, cool weather. You can get some nice weather which is a bonus.
-
When we visited Samana, ship time was not the same as port time. You really have to pay attention. However, on the vast majority of ports, the two times are the same.

When we were there in late August, the temperatures were in the mid to upper 70's. I don't consider that cold.

I’ve never sailed from Port Canaveral. How does it compare with Port Everglades as far as traffic backups and chaos in general? I’m sailing on Equinox in mid-December and hope things run smoothly.
Our cruise from Port Canaveral was a pleasant experience. It was not as busy as Port Everglades.

We also have early dining at 6 pm but the dining room opens at 5:30. And the line begins to form around 5:10.
