    Hello,

I am a first-time Celebrity cruiser and our online check-in is coming up in May. Last year, when I cruised Royal, I was able to log in at midnight for the day our check-in became active, grab a time, and then come back later to fill in the rest.  As I recall, this feature was only available in the app.  If I logged in on my computer, I had to complete everything.  Is the same thing true for Celebrity?   Also, in the event I do need to complete everything, what documents do I need? I just recall that I needed passport number, general info, and emergency contact. Taking a picture was optional.  Am I missing anything?

    Thanks.

I check in using my computer.  All information did not need to be completed in order to receive a boarding time.

If I recall, you will need personal information, emergency contact, passport information, and credit card number.

Yeah if you're not a pickleball player the noise can drive you crazy. Otherwise it's sort of music to your ears. LOL

It is like music to your ears like that of hearing the sound of a dental drill.  The good news is that on the Ascent, play is stopped when the Rooftop Garden Grill is open.

Have you found ANY ship that has pickle ball?  I hear wind is an issue when the ship is in motion?

They have used the sports court during times of the week.  That is the area on Solstice where basketball is played. Times are shared and noted in the program.   It is tough to play with the winds and movement of the ship.

  4. We had a fantastic CVP who suddenly disappeared.  I suspect he was let go.  His name still appears on my invoices but when messages are left, I never get a return phone call.  Then I was transferred to another individual and she has since disappeared.  Now when I call, I usually get someone from Mexico or Jamaica.  Some are novices and will admit it.

My husband and I are thinking of booking the Persian Garden area of the spa, but when I went to do it, it says you have to book a time? I thought it was a walk in and use it when you want kind of area. The time slots are for 15 minutes. Can you only stay in there 15 minutes as the price for this area is expensive?

If you are sailing in Aqua Class, you just walk in.  However, if you are purchasing a day pass, they like to know what time you will be arriving so as to avoid overcrowding.  There have not been any time limits for the Persian Gardens.

Do they actual swipe? I thought they use RFID.

I guess I will get the transparent card holder so that they can see it.

I have been asked for the physical card by the bartenders and I have observed others handing the actual card to them.

  7. If you are thinking of dining at a specialty restaurant, book asap before you board.  At that time of year, the prime spots will quickly be reserved.  And about a month before your cruise, there may not be anything available.

It is my opinion that the cabanas at Coco Cay are overpriced.  Plenty to do there without incurring those expenses.

We are cruising the Med next year and if sailing with Celebrity, we'd make the same decision as you regarding an older ship.  The Med is so port intensive that it's not about the ship anyway.  Having said that, we are booked on Regent Grandeur...a ship the same age as Ascent and I have read several reports of popping noise as well as paper thin walls.  They don't build cruise ships like they used to, I guess.

I was told that the issue was similar to that with some models of automobiles.  With the increased use of plastic, some car models experience a cracking sound coming from the dashboard area.  When maintenance went into the walls, it was noted that there was an increase in plastic components.  It was known by Guest Services on the Beyond that there was a problem in a number of rooms.

Do you think this is something the Retreat team could answer with authority or something too far removed from the corporate office for the answer to be reliable?

There are many factors involved.  Sometimes, boarding can be delayed due to inspections, missing passengers, etc.  I personally would not arrive before 11 am.

My family and I are doing a side by side out of Ft Lauderdale in June.  First on the Disney Magic and then on the Celebrity Beyond.

I don’t imagine we will be allowed to remain on the Disney ship long and will probably be off around 9am.

It does not look like it is walkable from Disney to Celebrity so some time will be taken by getting an Uber or two to get the four of us and our stuff.

Realistically we might be at the Celebrity terminal at 9:30-10:00am.

If it matters we are sailing in a sky suite and all have Retreat access.

Will they be ready to let us in the terminal that early?  I know they will be disembarking their own ship full of people.

You should consider the weather.  If it is raining before they open the doors, you will be miserable.  We were not able to get in to the Terminal until 11 am.

    I might have missed it.

What is the Annual Fee for the card ?

Who is the Issuer of the card ?

If someone is not a frequent cruiser, why get the card ?

LOL, and for what it's worth ----- If you think of the $$$$ spent towards Captain Club point levels, it's totally " nuts " for the perks they provide.

Wait !!!  Take that back !! I forgot about the 1 scoop of gelato !!!!

It is worse than you think.  The scoop of gelato is FREE on the E-class ships.  And the time spent "earning" points is another factor to consider.

    To name a few :

    Breakfast:

    Eggs Benedict ---- 2 bagels/smoked salmon--- 4 Danish pastries

    Lunch:

Nothing special-- perhaps a salad / French bread ---6 slices of pizza ---dish of ice cream /4 chocolate chip cookies  ( gotta save " room " for dinner )---

    Dinner:

    3 Shrimp cocktails to start

Prime rib---- lots of sauce----easy on the green beans and carrot sticks

Beef tenderloin---- extra gravy--- easy on the mashed potatoes-- no green beans ( had 'em yesterday )

Various chicken dishes---- minimum amount of vegetables

Various Indian dishes--- especially Butter Chicken

Creme Brule ---- Chocolate deserts--- Cherries Jubilee

    And then-------I wake up !!!!!

How could anyone eat 6 pieces of that pizza?  Were your taste buds damaged?    You did forgot those hamburgers lying in the grease   at the Mast Grill.

    Hello

We were thinking of booking a cruise on the new Ascent until I read some people saying that they were hearing noises from their cabin at night, like someone banging on a pipe.  These complaints were coming from both ships.   A friend of mine got off of the Beyond last month and she said the same thing.

So I'm wondering if it's just certain cabins or certain areas on the ship that are experiencing this noise or are all cabins hearing it?  Your feedback, especially anyone who's been on the Ascent is greatly appreciated.

There was definitely banging on the Beyond and it was a topic conversations at dinner and at functions.  That did not appear to be the case on Ascent.  I would suggest Ascent over Beyond.  No brainer for me .

Is this area only used for lunch?  Is there a bar?  Hours? It's so large I assume there must be  some other functions.

This same area on the E class is used for the Elite Continental Breakfast in the morning,  lunch as Le Grand Bistro and Le Petit Chef for Dinner.  As for lunch, the portions are huge and the quality is tops.  Their French onion soup is different from that served in the MDR.  Huge burgers.  Le Grand Bistro and Eden Cafe  were our places to go to get away from the animals house known as lunch in the Oceanview on sea days.

And how many points do you earn for Go Green sign up?

You get an extra day of points.  So if you would be getting 5 points per day of the cruise, you would get an additional day.  So instead of 35 points on a 7 day cruise, you would get 40.

We will be sailing on Eclipse next month in Aqua so hope they have Bigalow.

    Laura

Yes, the bottles in the shower all say Bigalow in Aqua.  Same bottles are refilled  when getting low by the room attendant.

We haven't sailed in AQ in a few years and were wondering what is the latest experience sailing  primarily on Equinox. How is food in Blu?  Food in Blu was just OK last time we were on AQ (about 5 years ago), so we found that it was not worth the money. Now there are some cruises, that are reasonably priced, so we are considering go back to AQ.

    All information is greatly appreciated.

Over the past couple years, there has been an increase in dishes involving poultry/game birds on the menu in Blu. We have been disappointed with the dessert offerings. Overall, the food comes out hot and requests have been granted. Breakfast is exceptional.   Service continues to be stellar.  Note that we were not able to order from the MDR on Equinox on our cruises.  This could be related to staffing issues and the management on duty at the time.

We will be cruising on the Reflection in August, 2024 with our 8 year old grand daughter and stopping at Cococay . We have never been to Cococay before so we do not know what activities are available for an 8 year old. In order for her to have access to a waterslide do we need to purchase the Thrill Waterpark Day Pass or is there a waterslide for children outside the waterpark? Any information is appreciated  Thanks and Happy Sailings. .

Check out Splashaway Bay, a free waterpark,  which has free waterslides and water activities.  Perfect for an 8 year old.  Nice beaches there too.

    Hello all,

We have anytime dining but have a question, if we dine at a particular restaurant around 7:45pm and we find we love the waiter if we ask to have the same waiter each evening at the same time do they accommodate?

Yes, they will accommodate as best they can.  You may not get the same exact  table but you will most likely be seated in that waiter's area.

Well, our upcoming cruise on the Constellation (10 nt. Italy/Croatia) cost us $2,182 all in.  Mardi Gras was more expensive for 7 days and the one we have booked on the NCL Viva is over twice that.  Agree that Guy's Burgers and Big Chicken were great though.

Got to remember that the Constellation is almost 20 years older than the Mardi Gras and looks its age.  Good deals can be had on the Constellation as you can see.   But you can't compare Guy's versus what they are giving out as burgers on Celebrity.
