I have never seen US outlets recessed. They have always been as shown in the picture above. Only the European outlets were the round recessed ones.
Agreed. The U.S. outlets were not recessed.

What category of cabin and length of cruise you are looking for?

Thank you for the info.
Also would like to know what kind and size are the two daily water bottles delivered to Aqua Class rooms.
16.9 oz. of a generic brand of water are provided daily.

Can you order something from the Main Dining room menu when dining in Blu?
There is a menu of everyday classics that can be ordered. As for ordering from the Main Dining Room, it depends on the ship and the management. For example, we were NOT able to order on the Beyond but could order on the Ascent which is the same class ship. It could be related to the number of staff on duty but not sure.

Hi all,
Looking at a cruise on Celebrity Edge and we are unsure about the Infinite Balcony. Are we able to adjust the balcony window ourselves to obtain fresh air or is this as I have read, up to the Captain to do?
Can someone tell me the pros and cons of booking this type of cabin please?
We usually book balconies because we do like the fresh air at times, but it seems we might not get it on this type of cabin.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I was initially apprehensive but this type of room is fine. There are some that do not like change. Give it a chance.
When there is stormy weather, the Captain has the ability to control the windows. You can open your window, but that will turn off the air conditioning system for your room.
The pros are that you have a larger room or at least feel you have a larger room. That is nice. You also get a small sitting area. The con is that you cannot walk out on a balcony in the total open air and sun bathe. Another con is that you cannot peek into your next door neighbor to see what they are up to. 😀

The IV is definitely subjective. I loved it, myself. I didn’t have to listen to my neighbors make noise on their balconies and my attendant always set the scene in the evening that dimmed the lights and closed the blind. I appreciated having the extra space in the cabin that was usable but would have been taken away by a dedicated balcony. I didn’t see any downside to it. But, like I said, it’s subjective, so I can totally see your point of view.
You did not mention the next door neighbor who sticks their head around the corner and peeks into your cabin! 👓

The OP should have asked for water or a soda directly in the beginning. Be direct and make wishes known as there could possibly be a language barrier. I have asked for orange juice or water and it was delivered.

I have booked a cruise aboard Celebrity Apex for 2025 within Europe. now this will be my first time ever that I have sailed with Celebrity Cruises. I have a solo edge infinite veranda on deck 6 (I know this is an obstructed view due to the lifeboats which I'm completely fine with as I won't be using the window much). I also know we will need a Schegan area
ESTIA visa and travel insurance next year. I'm just a little nervous, anxious and apprehensive as I do not have any clue what to expect. have any of you got the return coach down to and from Southampton for their Celebrity Cruise? do any veteran Celebrity cruisers have any advice for a first timer on this ship as it would all be very much appreciated.
Your best resource would be to go to the Reviews section above. There are 220 reviews of the Celebrity Apex. Choose a couple of those to read and enjoy this great resource. You will obtain a wide variety of perspectives at that location.

And the proper thing to have done is to of offered and asked discreetly if they had a non alcoholic substitute they could provide for them. Plenty wrong with the way this was handled.
Agree. Could have been better handled by all parties involved.

Last summer I had anytime and just went anytime I felt like dining. I was always seated in the same section - which was great. Only once was I given a pager, and the wait was like 5-10 minutes.
On the Edge Class Ships how does it work with the different dining rooms? Is it still easy to get anytime dining without reservations?
Yes, easy to get seated in any of the dining areas. I had gone through the bother of making reservations in various MDRs. Was repeatedly told that it was Anytime Dining.

Can you attach the trade confirmation, or do you have to wait for the monthly statement. TIA!
Scan and attach the page from a recent monthly brokerage statement that notes your holdings.

Currently on Summit and did the Chef’s Table dinner last night. (Other than the galley tour it’s not worth it but that’s not what this post is about.)
You meet for the dinner at the large table outside of sushi restaurant for a toast, a short speech, and a photo before going down to galley tour and Tuscan Grille for the dinner. Here is the very short version of what happened:
I do not drink alcohol so about 30 minutes before the meeting time I went up and let the wine person setting things up that I don’t drink. He kept saying “oh it’s just for the toast” and I kept repeating but I don’t drink. After a couple rounds of this I sort of gave up and walked away.
Then the event starts and he is pouring Prosecco for everyone. He gets to me and pauses. I again tell him I don’t drink and he again tries to press me to take some “just for the toast.”
It does not matter if you drink or not: we all know people who, for various reasons, choose not to drink. For some people that choice is a constant struggle. To have a crew member basically pushing me to drink became very uncomfortable.
In the end I had to finally get a bit more loud with my no to him. So he just left me there with my empty glass. I guess it finally occurred to him that was not a good look so offered me some ginger beer. At that point I just wanted to run away and hide in my cabin.
The whole experience was at best uncomfortable and worst upsetting. I keep thinking about those who struggle more than I do with alcohol and how triggering such an interaction could be.
I don’t see any point in bringing this up to management onboard as we all know I will just get the standard platitudes “I’m so sorry I’ll let someone know” response and nothing will come of it. I just felt the need to share this experience to get it off my mind as best I can.
How can you expect changes if you don't bring the situation to the attention of those that have the ability to handle the situation in a timely manner? Bringing it to this forum may make you feel better but does not address your initial complaint.

I recall on one of my first cruises that I saw other cruisers with these fancy labels on their luggage. I thought I was missing out. However, when we got to the pier, I showed the porter our room number and he took care of it. Our luggage arrived with the others despite not being printed in colored ink. Not worth my time to print, fold and attach.

That would be a serious bummer as I generally spend every morning out there. 😞
I'm used to smoking since my mom smoked when I was a kid, but for the most part, the less smell of cigarettes or cigars, the better.
We had lunch in that area on those days we ate at the OVC. There was no smell of smoke. The biggest problem was trying to get a seat in the buffet on sea days. Place was packed. We went to other venues to eat and glad we did..

October is one of the busiest months for Boston.
Many people stay in the suburbs and take Commuter Rail into the city to save money. Another option is to book at Logan Airport as we got very good rates there.

We have the porters at the pier attach luggage labels with the room number. No need for you or your daughter to print. And we get the luggage every time.

I have only sailed Celebrity once several years ago. On the booking it says Anytime Unavailable.
That is a quirk of the booking system. It is Anytime Dining. Go wherever and whenever you want to have dinner. No problem!

Don't expect a guest lecturer. They have been few and far between. No way of telling.
With one captain, you will hear about the favorite watch and jewelry shops on the ship. The captain be there personally to assist. Now isn't that nice....

We are sailing the Eclipse Oct. 11, 2025 10 days Boston to Bermuda than ABC islands disembarking at Port Everglades. Seems like a nice fall itinerary, if we avoid hurricanes!!
We need a Hotel in Boston Oct. 8-11. Suggestions as to the best location and public transportation? Thanks
Do a search in the Seaport District. It can be pricey. Many start at $400 a night.

How do you really know if a grey market vendor has the legit thing? Same for Amazon. So many fakes out there.
I brought a friend's watch to a reputable jeweler to have a new battery installed. The technician talked about the number of fake high end watches he is asked to repair. Look good from the outside but... So be careful.

I was pricing Citizens watches. I bought a better quality one for less at Kohls. In addition, the wristband was adjusted at the store. Sizing was not available on the ship.
