  1. I actually did tell them that, and was told that with these cruises it HAD to go to the agent I booked the current cruise with. No choice in the matter. As I knew it would it made more work for me, as I had to contact the agent to request a booking summary sent, etc. I would have preferred to have the booking myself.
  2. @Steelers36, I booked a short coastal cruise while on board recently. They told me the booking automatically went to the agent I had booked my current cruise with. The onboard agent was new and showed me the booking screen and I saw the commission (10%) portion that would go to my agent. So, your agent would still get their commission. I actually would have preferred not to have that agent involved as it was a one time thing on my part (they had the best price), but that was what I was told.
  3. You could catch the HAL Eurodam on May 2 for a one night cruise to Seattle. That was the only yvr-sea cruise that matched your dates that I could see. I personally wouldn’t bother with that and you’d still need to stay in Vancouver for 2 nights first. Someone mentioned taking the Princess transfer to SEA and I agree that is your best option.
  4. The same one posted above, csteinke@princesscruises.com These are also available at Elliott.org. If you don’t hear anything, just keep emailing every few weeks and mention your previous emails to customer relations with no reply. Oh, and my reply wasn’t actually from him, but from customer relations. I guess it was passed off by his office and someone said “take care of her so she stops bugging me” 😆
  5. We had some issues on our cruise to Hawaii in January. I got acknowledgements only and nothing further from my initial emails to customer relations . I emailed Lorna warren and Collin steinke and still nothing. This was over a few months. I finally emailed Collin Steinke ONLY in June and got a reply with a resolution immediately. I’m thinking emails to multiple people may be blocked, but not sure. Good luck!
  6. Most ships that have ever been in the UK or Australia have some kettles on board. I requested on on the Crown in Alaska last month and they provided it. Since the Regal has spent the summer in the UK they should provide one if you ask.
  7. My thought is that this is really a temporary thing until they transition to the new changes. We’ll see. They will need to add a fee activation somewhere on the tv ordering and that’s probably what’s being sorted right now.
  8. Someone had this on their door on our Crown cruise in June. Their cabin was right by the entrance to the stairs/elevators portside. We always book starboard cabins but this was a guarantee and we were portside. I was so glad it was there as we kept wanting to go the wrong way when we got to the top of the stairs. We just said “head to the sign!”. (Yes I know about the coloured dots on the carpets 😉)
  9. @GoDucksNationhas reported that there is still a charge on the Royal as of a few weeks ago, and that was the case for us in February. It has not been removed. There was no charge on Discovery in May and also on Crown in June. I suspect this is more a case of something related to the payments (token machine, washer/dryer token acceptance) being broken with no rush to fix rather than a coming fleet wide change.
  10. Was your last cruise on a HAL ship by any chance?
  11. In case you missed the other thread on the Rotterdam insides: Assuming the same on Koningsdam?
  12. I usually get offered 4 tiers. For example we are booked in an obstructed deluxe Balcony (Royal class). I was offered (unobstructed) standard balcony, deluxe balcony, premium deluxe balcony, and mini suite. We won’t bid as the “obstructed” deluxe we have selected is actually not obstructed in my opinion and has an extra large balcony. To my mind, all my options except the mini suite (or possibly the premium deluxe if it was aft facing) would be lesser cabins. From an inside on most Royal class ships you’ll be offered obstructed balcony, deluxe obstructed balcony, standard balcony and deluxe balcony.
  13. Still green for August 21. In Canada, so always pu medallions at port anyway.
  14. @azbirdmom did a good job answering most of your queries, but I can address Aqua class. Reserve minisuites have access to “reserve” dining (formerly club class) which is in a separate part of the dining room. We love Aqua class on Celebrity mostly due to Blu, but this is not really similar. I believe there is 1 additional entree at dinner not an entirely different menu like Blu, more personal service, no waits, etc. It lacks the intimacy of Blu in my opinion. Reserve is also not “all inclusive” the way Aqua class is now. You would still need to purchase the Plus package to get what you get with Aqua class. The minisuites are larger than your Aqua class stateroom, but the balcony will be smaller unless you pick one of the extended ones. HTH.
  15. And some of us even less. We rarely get the ship wifi and if we do we only get one device between the 2 of us.
  16. It is better than HALs usual “Have it All” which doesn’t usually include Crew Appreciation.
  17. I would expect to see a marketing email coming touting the benefits of upgrading the upcoming cruise to Plus or Premier with the new “inclusions”, making it clear that standard bookings don’t have these inclusions.
  18. I’m currently in green lane for my August 21 cruise (still green today) Being in Canada we also can’t get medallions shipped and get them at the port.
  19. Point taken. I guess Alfredo’s is the only one we go to, so the others were never on my radar anyway.
  20. In the end, it is what it is. What really irks me is the spin on it as if they have added value to the packages and this is a great thing. Not true. The packages aren’t any more valuable than they were yesterday, just because they started charging for somethings that used to be free. At least be honest and say “due to rising costs, so that we can continue to provide the quality experience our guests expect, we are now charging for…… etc.” They must think we are all stupid. This is what the CVP I occasionally use posted on her FB page. “MORE VALUE”. Sheesh.
  21. We had them on the Crown in July but steward never replenished without us asking (3times). He was a bit of a dud so we that that was why. The press release does say breakfast ordered with hanging tags is still NC, so they can’t be getting rid of them. Maybe they are in the process of changing them up.
  22. I was shown a screen that I wasn’t supposed to be shown onboard when booking a cruise, and the commission to the TA was clearly 10%. It may vary depending on whether it is group space, etc. Extras may be a higher commission and I know for a fact that insurance commission is huge.
