  1. Agreed, it just won’t be me! Have you seen what Royal is charging for the Icon? Pure insanity. I’m switching over to less cruises and more AI resorts/land trips
  2. I was browsing potential cruises to perhaps sail over NYE. Carnival would be my last choice, but I can drive to Charleston and the days fit my schedule around the holidays. I realize that holiday cruises are $$$, but Carnival is charging $3K for an inside cabin for a 5-day sailing! This is completely insane to me (it’s on an older ship, too). I guess they can charge this, because people are booking it. I guess my point is I obviously won’t be booking it, but I wonder how much longer the cruise industry can charge these outrageous prices? The Covid travel bubble has to burst at sone point

    Survey

I was wondering the same thing. My friend I’m going with has sailed VV multiple times and did not get the survey so who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Survey

I completed the survey the other day and am sailing next week. Is it worthy time to fight for the OBC? Never said VV before
  5. Ok so it wasn’t a one off for my sailing last week that rooms are ready much, much later than before. Penny- pinching and fleecing the customer for money in raised DSC, but less services rendered 🤔. Have a great cruise!
  6. Would you mind reporting back what time the staterooms are ready (regular cabins, not Haven). Thank you. Just got off the ship and ours wasn’t ready until 4:30. Have an awesome cruise- the ship is great!
  7. Just off the Joy- I downgraded from the Premium Plus package after I heard about the Veuve. They are selling it in the duty free shop, though. I’m not a beer drinker, but enjoy a Duvel, and they had it in the District Brewhouse onboard. It used to be $9 a bottle. Imagine my surprise when it is now $16 a bottle- total insanity!
  8. I’m on the Joy now and they have ship models in the gift shop
  9. I’m not sure what ship this is from, but it’s not the Joy
  10. I don’t know about in writing, but it has been my experience cruising since 1996, that cabins have been ready at 1-1:30. If they knew they are severely short staffed with cabin stewards they could have sent a quick email saying, hey your cabins won’t be ready until 4:30, please plan accordingly. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  11. That’s fine. I expect a clean room free of hair, food stains and toenails after waiting hours to enter my stateroom.
  12. Then they need to set the expectation in writing and in the cruise contract that your room will not be available until 4:30
  13. I can report on two separate occasions in the last year that they were, in fact ready by 1:30.
  14. Well in this circumstance, 75% (approx) of the cabins were not ready until after 4:30, and mine was not cleaned to my satisfaction. Certainly a half ass job on my particular cabin. What would be an appropriate time in this instance to wait for a clean cabin? 5? 6? 7? If I had little kids with me I’d be furious
  15. Yes I actually am complaining about the cabins not being ready. This trip is for total R&R. I am a medical professional and worked until late Saturday night at my level 1 trauma center. This may not be something you can grasp, but I want my room available to relax in by 2PM at the latest. If the precedent is changing and rooms aren’t ready then I will choose a different cruise line.
  16. Royal isn’t much better, trust me. Once a day cabin cleaning and cutbacks in dining. Ask me how I know, sailed Symphony august 2022 and independence 4/23. But at least cabins were ready at 1:30 and were clean
  17. So it’s my fault for waking barefoot in my cabin? I beg to differ! What about reaching for TP and having a handicap bar fall on your body? Is that ok or am I overactive? The poor workers?
  18. So let me ask you the. You waited until after 4:30 to enter your cabin. You find hair, toenail clippings, and grease and food smears about your cabin. Are you ok with that?
  19. Let me ask you this. Crumbs, hair, toenails on your bare feet while walking in your cabin. A handicap bar falling on your body, What would you do? Genuinely curious
  20. Found a lovely toenail clipping in my room which proves that the room was not cleaned thoroughly. The internet sucks on the ship and won’t let me upload said picture of toenails, but I can assure you it’s there. I complained to guest services and will probably be removing my gratuities in the first of 60+ cruises unless these problems are rectified
  21. Exactly-which is why I’ll most likely be taking my cruise dollars elsewhere
  22. Exactly! I’m not ripping off anyone’s head over this or anything. Just disappointed. Boarding was delayed 2 hours because the wifi went down on the ship and terminal and I just wanted to put my carry on in the room and rest after a very long travel day. I get prices have gone up, but increasing gratuities and decreasing services is not cool. And my room could at least be clean if there was such a delay. Walking in bare feet on the carpet and there are large crumbs and hair stuck to my feet, so it wasn’t even vacuumed or mopped. 🤮 I don’t think that’s too much to ask. The excuse of at least we can cruise, and the poor staff are so over worked and blah blah is old and tiresome. No one is forcing anyone to work on these ships. I guess the answer is to take my business elsewhere. I love NCL overall and have been pretty loyal over the years, so once I use up my cruise next certs, I will make a decision to move on or not.
  23. Embarked the Joy today in NYC and cabins were not ready until 4:30 - they made repeated announcements about this. I find this concerning. Yes, I know the stewards are stretched thin, but 4:30?? This just seems really late to me- worse than a hotel check in. If this a new industry standard, then it would be nice to know. BTW, my cabin was pretty grubby- smears of stuff on doors and gray hairs in bathroom and balcony (my hair is dark brown).
  24. I’ve been very frustrated with the call center, too. I had to make a modification to the land portion of my Alaskan cruise tour which included cancelling an extra night in one of the lodges that I had booked. After reassuring me the changes had been made, my booking didn’t reflect it. I called and somehow got lucky and spoke to someone in the USA and they said it had never been cancelled! I recently called in to cancel a different booking, and the man I spoke to could not understand the phonetic alphabet or English alphabet. I spent 40 min on the phone with him trying to spell my name and booking number and he still sent me someone eles’s cancellation email. All this while listening to chatter, laughter and kids/dogs barking. Very unprofessional and will make me think twice booking with Princess again. I was able to get resolution with sending a direct message to Princess on Instagram - they handled it quickly
