Sigh.... I'm at 68 days then a big old long dry spell until March 2025. Unless I get a crazy good Xmas offer like last year and a family member will go with me this time🤞

Hey sister from another mister!  I'll pack my Santa hat and see you in December since we're now family. No need to get me a Christmas present....the cruise will do. 🙂

Beautiful pictures! I loved the Seashore. Thanks for the tip about the winding mountain roads in San Juan. Will not be taking this excursion even though I have considered it twice.

We had what I felt was a near death experience on an excursion down winding mountain roads. Driver was speeding and reckless blasting R rated rap music without a care in the world while we all panicked, yelled at him to slow down and held on for dear life.

We enjoyed the Seashore too.  We have another trip booked on it later this year.

As for the excursion, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again (although I would like a different version with water time and hiking involved).  I would just make sure to take meds with me the next time.  Once the Dramamine kicked in, the ride down was much more enjoyable, and I could actually look out the windows some.

  3. Like many here, we've spent a decent amount of time traveling.  It started in March with over 3 weeks RV camping in Florida.  Home for a few weeks and then another trip to FL to stay with friends for 10 days.  Home for 5 days and then back on the road to FL to cruise on the MSC Seashore. We had to make the trip back home to let the dog stay with a family member while we cruised.

Fun times were had except for the motion sickness traveling to the rainforest in San Juan.  Back of the tour bus swaying as we navigated the winding roads up the mountain.  I couldn't look out the windows at all and kept praying that I would be "that person" puking on the bus.  I left my motion sickness meds on the ship and finally found someone at one of our stops that had Dramamine.  Although she tried to decline, I gave her $5 for one pill and it was worth every single cent and then some.

If interested, here are a few pics of our adventures.

You were less than half a mile from my house! Did you make it to the palace saloon?

No, we didn't make it there.  We drove down the main street near the Palace Saloon but didn't actually make it to that street.  Also drove A1A for a distance and toured the fort at the state park.  We did cut our stay short due to incoming heavy rains, but we had already spent 3 weeks in other state parks.

Im focusing on traveling. Ireland and 2cruises on the books. Mr. Seattle stalks my social media. I ignore it.

I have missed the tribe! 🖤

You'll have to share some pics of Ireland when you go.  I bet it's beautiful there.

I think I was in "your neck of the woods" last month.  We spent most of March RV'ing in Florida.  Spent a few days at Fort Clinch State Park.

I’m heading to Glo tomorrow and secretly hoping I run into her. Send ramen to county if I go radio silent. 😉

Can I have your autograph after you star on the next season of "60 Days In?"  And don't worry, we'll start a fund for your commissary ramen.

And thongs break down, so expenses without a maintenance department to see to.

I always hate when that happens, but 1-800-Victoria's Secret should be able to help. 😉

As for mowing, we live in a rural area but the landscape/weather/geography are pretty similar to you.  In the summer, we mow on average weekly.  If it doesn't rain very often, we may go two weeks in between (we don't have landscaping irrigation).  Plus our HOA, also known as the dog, doesn't mind if the grass grows a little too much.

Home ownership can be great, and it sounds like you're well prepared for it.  Best of luck as you make your dreams a reality.

Question here that's probably a good one for @sid_9169 but anyone else with Miami airport experience feel free to chime in.

Looking at flight options out of Miami. Usually I try not to book before noon but I am getting tired of sitting around the airport for 3-5 hours. There's an 11:30 flight I can take....or I could do a Carnival excursion that says "Ideal for people with flights after 2:30." But the flight is at 2:30. I noticed one of the reviews said they were back in plenty of time for their 3pm flight. They didn't specify how much that was.

I haven't read past page 1118 yet so you may already have plenty of advice.  However, I'll give you my take.  We've had a 10:45 MIA flight before and were there so early, we could have made a 9:00 flight (although I would never book a 9:00 a.m. return flight).  Since we are Plat on Carnival, we walked off first thing with our luggage and grabbed a taxi.  Since we had a head start on most other cruise passengers, the security line at the airport wasn't bad at all.  In the event we missed our flight, numerous flights go to our home airport each day so we felt comfortable taking the risk.

I know I don't fit in here, but ... this is me. This will ALWAYS be me, I'm afraid. I'm not a normal girl.

Full disclosure....neither pic I posted was of my nails (just online images I found to be funny with @Roscoe13).  I'm pretty basic when it comes to nail colors, and I paint them myself.

Carry on with the sports talks.  Or @Riles34 can post more of his food pics because it all looks delicious.

Asking for a friend...how come you ladies never have like cars on your nail tips or like Weber outdoor grills or craft beers?

Funny you should mention this.  I went to my nail appointment on Tuesday.

My dogs also were sprayed last weekend. My lab wasn't super close was just barking at it. But my Catahoula was face to face with it with only a chain link fence between them.

I used a solution of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda & dish soap. It really does work. I also used simply green to clean the bathroom & also washed all the towels I used to dry them.

my dogs got sprayed by a skunk this morning. been running back and forth between groomers and vets all day. they're fine, we're all fine. The house Stinks, but. I have wine 🍷 & I get to check in for my cruise in 3 hours. & @Saint Greg is live again, already?? Okay, guess it's all evened out. Happy Weekend, Tribe!

We live in the country, and it's skunk mating season during Feb/March.  I am so afraid this is going to happen to my dog.  There's a skunk that has built a den near our house.  We keep smelling it but never see the skunk on our 3-4 times daily walks.  Sooner or later, though, I'm afraid our luck will run out.

This year has been terrible for skunks around where I live. I was so tired of the smell that I threatened to lick the thermometer when DH was sick and lost his sense of smell.

This ends the cruise portion of our review. You are welcome to jump ship now if you would like, or remain on board for the remaining six days of our adventures. At the end of it all we will give you our final thoughts. Whether you leave or you stay, we would like to thank you all for reading!!!

    To be continued…..

Consider me the unwanted houseguest that never leaves.  I'll be here until you kick me out.

  13. Agree with others.  Love coves but avoid under the galley if you have that option.  I'm sure there are some cabins under the galley that aren't noisy, but I wouldn't know how to figure out which ones aren't.

At different times, we've been under guest services, the excursions desk, and the front corner of a dining room...no noise from those.

    Need your help Tribe, please.

We're excited but could use a recommendation or two of what to do an entire Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, the day prior to the cruise.  (We arrive at 9am, leave here at an ungodly 5:45am).

Suggestions are most welcome!  I'm pitching the a bottomless Bloody Mary option, somewhere, anywhere, close to an ocean view....which is sort of doing on land what I will be doing on the cruise...not very imaginative I know...

Will you have a rental car?  It's been a number of years but when we had a full day in Ft. Lauderdale, we drove down to Key Biscayne and visited the Bill Baggs State Park.  They had "pedal carts" for rent and we toured the state park that way.  It was a fun day for us as we like the nature type adventures.

Since my last check in, the 6th grade girls' bathroom is closed because someone chose to do the devil's business on the floor... Oh, and someone reported a Hate Crime on our anti-bullying app, and the hate crime was the the sub didn't let them go to the bathroom in the last ten minutes of class. It's not lunch yet.

    Happy Valentine's Day!

It sounds like a hate crime was actually committed in the girls' bathroom.  Inquiring minds wonder if said student who reported the sub was the culprit.

P.S.  You seem like the best teacher and one students will remember forever.

  16. I've only been called for jury duty once....and it just happened to be when I had my first cruise booked.  Luckily, they let me defer until a couple of months later.  That's been about 25 years ago so I have no idea how I've avoided getting called again.

@Slainte57 - I do hope you reconsider leaving here.  I know many enjoy your posts (photos, song trivia, that cute new rescue).  The Tribe OGer's have been with you thru your housekeeping days (with all the shoes) and to the current life of a camper.  If anything, take a break and come back when you feel like it.  Whatever you decide, I truly wish you the best.

  17. Agree with another poster - Lanai hot tubs are great.

Decks 6, 7, 9, and 10 - go all the way to the front of the cabin hallways, and you'll find a door leading out to a forward deck.  It can be windy at times but is a great view.  Also, go to deck 9 forward at night time, and you can get a great night shot of the side of the ship,  This forward deck has a "side area" for viewing.

Take closed toe shoes if you want to try the ropes course.

Ocean Plaza is a good place for music.
