  1. Alas, it seems that most people today are more interested in taking a video of "altercations" than using their phone to call for assistance. The ability to post events on Social Media and garner clicks ($) means they are less inclined to ask for help as it diminishes the "train wreck".
  2. The "free" things in the Persian Gardens......like the heated loungers, shouters, sauna....are nice. Blu is very nice.....and yes, the breakfasts are yummy! Just remember that men must wear a sleeved shirt. I would suggest that you do room service one day for breakfast. Just sit and watch the world go by. The mirror in the bathroom is heated so it won't fog up! Although the massaging shower nozzles are a bust for me.....they just aren't positioned where they did me any good. 😕
  3. I know this question is slightly OT, but we are looking at a cruise (Flora) and our TA is offering some OBC. If the cruise is all-inclusive, what can you use the OBC for? I'm guessing the OBC is "use it or lose it", but I can't think of anything that isn't included! Ideas?
  4. Good luck! I've experienced the same issue.....2 hour wait before I gave up, then 2 calls each 1 hour. None of them resulted in me speaking with a real person. I don't think the number you call matters. I've tried calling the Captain's Club number as well as most of the "usual" numbers. They all go into a black hole never to be seen again. I used the chat feature on their web site. The chat was answered quickly, but they people who you chat with aren't very knowledgeable. They suggest you call or send an email. I understand that they are offering incentives to get people sailing again, but not staffing properly (onshore and onboard) only turns people away.
  5. I agree with @Jim_Lain......dispute the charge with your credit card. I've been trying to call X over the past few days and have had no luck and just waste several hours on the phone with no conversation ever occurring.
  6. Ok, so I tried (again) to call the Captain's Club. After an hour on hold, I (again) tried the chat function. I logged in to my account and went to my profile page where the reservation could be seen. I clicked the button at the bottom right that says "ask us anything". I was put in contact with "Danielle". I asked to unlink the reservation from my profile, just to NOT cancel the booking. She asked for my email address and the booking number......which I provided. Next thing I knew, she said it was done, but would take 24 hours to (not) show up on my profile. I asked how she was able to do so since all the other chat folk had no clue what I was asking or did not know how to. She said she "reached out for assistance". Apparently you can link reservations on the website, you just can't unlink them! She said Captain's Club handles the unlinking - apparently they do it a lot.....she said usually you need to call them. I suggested that maybe if they actually answered their phones in a timely fashion, people (like me) wouldn't get so frustrated with the process. She said "a lot of people need help". I certainly hope the cruise booking was not cancelled.....that would be horrible! I'll find out tomorrow if the booking is gone from my profile and hope it still shows on my friend's profile. As they said in "my day".....news at 11!
  7. The cruise booking is complete and deposit made. She “owns” the booking......my name is not on the manifest. She is able to log in to the reservation, but neither have a CC# so I don’t want to have the points added to my account so they can have them added to theirs once they get one. This is a honeymoon cruise for them, so I wanted to surprise them with a special excursion, so “linked” them on my profile so i could add the excursion and pay for it. I could not find a way to just access the booking using the reservation and ship/sail date. Now that the excursion has been booked, I want to “unlink” the booking from my profile. Sad to say, but I fear things will get twisted somehow and i’d rather get this fixed now so we don’t have troubles on their honeymoon. This is not a group booking, just the two of them. Any suggestions?
  8. So you think this is something that only the "web" folk at X can do? Guess that means that this will take a month to "undo". 😕
  9. It is not the reservation that is tied to my profile, but the whole cruise reservation. I need to unlink the cruise.....so no, I can't cancel that!
  10. I guess I've made a huge mistake! I am helping a friend plan her honeymoon and wanted to book an excursion as a gift. I thought there used to be a way to log in to the reservation using the booking number and sail date, but I couldn't find that, so I added her reservation to MY profile (my name is NOT on the reservation). I booked the excursion and now want to remove the reservation from my profile, but I can not find out how to do that. I do not want to delete/cancel the "reservation", just its association with me......as I fear that things will get confused at some time. It isn't a reservations issue, but rather a website issue, so I called the Captain's Club, who somehow thought I was trying to cancel the reservation. I am now on hold with the Engagement team.....but have been on hold for over 2 hours!!, I tried to use the "help" chat feature, but they only answer general questions and had no clue what I was trying to accomplish. I am hoping that someone can help me since (after 2 hours) "we appreciate your patience" has grown old!
  11. All the blood should have been screened prior to transfusion. The time frame for screening results should be moot. If the brother was there with her on the cruise, he should have been first to be screened for transfusion. (IMHO)
  12. I can't imagine that anyone would willingly donate blood (even if it is a very rare type) that is infected. I also can't imagine what it would feel like to suddenly find out that you not only have the disease, but now know that you've passed along such a terrible disease. The donor had to have just recently been exposed as symptoms appear within 8 weeks of being infected. The case will be interesting to follow. The recipient will have to prove intent or negligence to prevail. I'm not sure if "Good Samaritan" laws would apply to the donors.....since I just can't fathom someone would donate with a known diagnosis. My inclination is that Celebrity will settle just to get beyond the litigation without admitting any wrong doing. That would be the "cheapest" way out. Sad on all counts.
  13. We rented one when traveling with family. It just made sense for us to have a "base" where everyone could meet and seating was always available. Our cabin attendant was fabulous! He brought us drinks, rafts, made sure we got to lunch (on a golf cart no less). It just made for a more enjoyable day for us....no worrying about anything. if you can get one, get it! Worth every penny (for us).
  14. I found it! https://creative.rccl.com/sales/royal/General_Info/Group_Sales_Kit/SL05-121648_RCI_GAP_Delivers_WOW.pdf
  15. I tried to find the list of items based upon points.....but I can no longer find it. (Harrumph!) The TA gets points from Royal based upon the cabin price and uses those points to give you stuff. (I want to call them GAP points, but that doesn't get me anywhere with a www search) I did try to talk with the TA, but they said Royal was the one who controlled the "gift", but Royal told me the TA was in charge of giving the gift based upon points. It was a vicious circle. As OurUsualBeach said, you can sell it or give it away....but exchanging it is an exercise in futility. Sorry 🥺 (but I think you knew this already)
  16. If you can find a way, please let us know. We had a TA voucher which was useless to us as we purchased the UDP. I went round and round with the TA and RCI. The only suggestion was for us to give it to someone else. What I proposed was for the "points" the TA got from the cruise line (which equated to the dining voucher) be converted into something else with similar or lesser point values.....like a bag, or a towel or something.....but that idea was tossed by both. I don't think they care to be bothered trying to work with you on this. 🙁
  17. It looks like you have to have 2,500 points to get a free cruise (interior). Sooo, 1 point for every $5 = 2500 points equals $12,500 That seems like a lot of planning of slot pulls (plural!) for an interior cabin! I think they should be allowed to keep the benefits. If you don't like it, organize your own or don't participate. (MHO) https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/casino/casino-royale-rewards-table.pdf
