  1. If you think about it, the cost of repatriating the body fro Puerto Rico would not be cheap. I can only imagine the Captain talking with the widow and telling her not only is her husband is dead, but it will likely cost her $5-6,000 to have the body sent back home. If she did not have insurance, that, plus the cost of a funeral back home, might be a financial hardship. BUT....given that he knew the morgue wasn't functional, he should not have given her any choice....but it is hard to NOT think with your heart at such times.
  2. I actually thought the same thing, but can think of several issues (mostly legal ones): 1-no official certificate of death, i.e. cause of death, certifying MD (unless the ships doctor can do that?) 2-re: death certificate, what "country" (other details) would be listed.....and would it have to be filed once they arrive back in home port (without the accompanying body) 3-I don't suspect they have a crematorium aboard and I'm pretty sure it isn't possible to just pitch the body overboard, so not exactly sure how the burial would occur. I'm with you that a burial at sea would be a good alternative, but as you mention logistical and liability (and legal) reasons would likely prevent one.
  3. But, this just goes to show that vaccinated, boosted, masked......still sick. Germs prevail!
  4. As others have mentioned, Covid is here to stay. Testing serves little purpose (as you should be careful about sharing your germs anytime you feel poorly!) Before Covid it was Norovirus.....which is still with us, just no one posts about it anymore. Germs are everywhere. Wash your hands often, keep your hands away from your face and enjoy your cruise!
  5. Thank you @nzdisneymom for the update! a few quick questions: How much were the food offering? (a range perhaps?) Could you make a "grazing dinner" out of them or should we eat beforehand?
  6. @mahdnc You are da BOMB! Thanks for all the great info.....on lots of threads!
  7. We are on the Equinox sailing on May 27, an 8-nighter. My Daily Planner has very few things listed and certainly not whether it is a Chic night (or dress attire). I'm trying to plan accordingly, but - is not making this easy on anyone. Why can't they just tell us when the chic nights are?
  8. Appreciate the feedback.......they are still beautiful!
  9. I keep checking my Junk folder as I'm sure I've missed MY notification!
  10. @mahdnc I would love to make the tumblers, but am concerned about the thickness of the sides. Are they thin enough to actually use as a drinking glass? Your creations are beautiful!
  11. Re prices: all I've read is that the prices are going up. I've watched our class for a while and it has never gone on sale.....so buy now. You can always cancel and rebook should the price drop. Also, don't forget to call to book as there is a 5% Captain's Club discount.....every little bit helps!
  12. @nunuc2000 Thank you for your efforts! Let us know what we can do to help (call as well to keep the pressure on).
  13. A picture of the items and prices, although some are hard to read.
  14. Also, don't forget to ask for your 5% Captain's Club discount (only available if you call in tho). As Georgia Peaches says, you have $120 each to apply to your piece. If you want a more expensive piece, you pay the difference.....and don't forget a nice tip for your "helper"!😀
  15. We upgraded a while ago, but the option is available on our Cruise Planner.....BUT it says we are not eligible for the upgrade as we "must first purchase to upgrade". I can't see if we can apply our CC status as I can proceed or where gratuities are added (likely when checking out as with other items). The message is confusing, maybe say "you have already upgraded" or some such, but I do think this is a step in the right direction.
  16. Well, I'm still sitting here in my tiara waiting for the news crew to show up, but I guess they are late! 😱🤪 I think winners have up to 4 days to sign the paperwork. I hope someone here wins, but given no posting yet, I won't hold my breath......and I guess I'll have to put away my tiara!
  17. We don't sail until the end of May, so haven't been, so any information would be greatly appreciated! If we can't make dinner out of the offerings, we thought we would eat at Iguana Joe's or Cuba's Cookin' - depending upon which pier we dock, but I am guessing we will be at the one nearest the mall, so likely Cuba's Cookin. We would have to eat VERY early for both (or just eat at the OVC, but I've heard they are cutting back on the dinner offerings). Regarding walking back, if the pier is the furthest, there looks to be the Linear Park Trail along the water, which I would "assume" is well lit and relatively safe (especially since there will be lots of people walking back to the ship afterwards). If anyone else has information, please let us know! TIA!
  18. I saw this as well.....and I also have 0/12 Easter Eggs collected (although I found every one each day). It is a terrible "game" and whoever thought it was a good idea and/or approved the expenditure of real money to put it into product upon should be fired!
  19. Well, could be 5th grade 🤪
  20. The terns & conditions say you get an entry by just logging in every day, we can at least get THAT. You get a second entry by finding the Easter Egg.....so possibly 2 entries per day. it will be interesting to see if the winners are announced on Tuesday or if we will never know (unless someone here wins and reports as such).
  21. Whatever you do, don't try to go "right" I walked left and didn't see the glowing X, so headed right, every time I got about 4 steps from my starting point, the game shut down! Silly me, I tried 4-5 times before looking to the left, and there it was! what a terrible application! It's almost like a middle school coding project!
  22. Winners will be picked on or around Mar 28 https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/metaverse scroll to the bottom (under FAQs) and click Terms & Conditions
  23. The interface is horrible, moving about is clunky. I was able to find the champagne flute and click on it, so entered for the day. My first attempt at an app was smoother and more professional! Whoever approved this should be fired! (Maybe paying for this is why we now have to pay for an extra lobster tail and "hot" room service?!?!😱)
  24. Sad that they felt uncomfortable.
