We were in E728 on the Crown last year and could hear bass sounds from Club Fusion below until the entertainment there ended, anywhere from 10pm to around Midnight. We were able to finally sleep through it but it was noticeable. The fourth berth in the ceiling, however, was a non-issue. You wouldn't notice it was there unless you were looking for it. Other than that, we liked the location, not far from the aft elevators to hop up to Adagio or Skywalkers or down to Botticelli for dinner. A great private, covered balcony with plenty of space.
Thanks for the information. Might have to pack earplugs. We did book this cabin and I am grateful for all the feed back.

Favorite cabin location on Grand and Crown class ships. We did 28days in E730 last year and have done several cruises in the very farthest aft cabin on those class ships. Still have another 50 days booked in those cabins. Quiet being at the end, not much traffic. Club Fusion is directly below on deck 7 and we've never had a problem with noise. Some engine vibration, but not too bad we actually like it as it soothes us to sleep. Fully covered, nice location!
Thank you. My Princess cruise planner said we might not like the cabin as it has a 4th bed attached to the ceiling, do you notice it.? I think we have had this before and it really isn’t a problem for 2.

Glad to know it should mostly be avoidable and shouldn't impact normal activities too much. It could encourage a slightly younger demographic and I'm younger than the average cruiser, which could benefit me. I'm sure their will be plenty of partners who aren't big into footy and are coming along just for the cruise. 😅
We booked this cruise (prior to this announcement) as part of a B2B. Might be a bit livelier than normal on a quick TAS cruise. We got a great price too, will be interesting to see current pricing.

Just saw a news article that the Princess cruise I have booked for January is going to now going to be hosting a Sydney Swan fan events. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid this as much as possible 😅.
We are on this cruise too. Luckily DH supports Swans, but me I am not sure🤔

I am sorry I was not more specific... I meant a regular balcony.
You are most certainly correct!😀

Good luck. Let us know how you go
Just an update. We changed to a covered mini on Emerald deck, extra OBC with an increase of just under $1000 for both cruises. We are quite happy as I worked out the increase to a lot more and less OBC. Finally the Princess Cruise Planner earned his money.

I have never seen a balcony with a sofa.
Majestic, Royal all have sofas in deluxe or premium balconies.

DD had a mini in the same section….it was very nice. Quiet area and the 9 ft by 9 ft covered balcony, which was a real plus as my grandson was just 1 then so they could be out there with no sun issues.
Thank you!

We always prefer the very aft with a large balcony, but yours is close!
Yes we like rear facing cabins too.Giving up a rear facing balcony for this mini. Hope we have done the right thing, but the balcony doesn’t have a sofa at all

I am not sure of the reasoning of the Princess Planner. It looks like a great mini suite- large covered balcony.
Thanks I am about to phone him and take this cabin. Actually only working out $1000 extra to go from our premium balcony and extra OBC too. This price was for both our B2B cruises.

Hi all,
Princess cruise planner has just come up with E726 for us on Crown Princess as it is a covered mini (which we need). He thinks it might not suit us as it is designed for 4 people not two. Any thoughts on this cabin would be appreciated.

We have just come back from a month away. 17kg each and less coming home. We both took formal clothes and actually way too many clothes. Medications etc took up a lot of space, I was astounded last night seeing the luggage some were putting out for collection. Thankfully though we were getting our laundry done every couple of days until we left the ship. As two people (since the restart of cruising) that seem to take too many clothes I was happy with what we took, but definitely could have cut back. Funnily enough a 7 day cruise in March the bags weighed not that much less.

Last year our large group on Ovation went to Rossinis at Circular Quay. I didn’t go but I hear there were very accommodating at all had a great time. Food and prices were great apparently. This year on Royal they went to The Orient Hotel, but not sure how that went though.

Well, that's a nuisance. Well worth tapping your cruise planner on the shoulder to see what can be done. Sometimes with a bit of prodding a miracle happens. 😉
About to do just that!🤣

Like you, we prefer to have a sofa so that means a mini suite.
I'm open to correction here, but I THINK the mini suite balconies on Emerald Deck are covered? They also appear to be in an aft location.
Yes, you are correct, but my problem is we are going to do B2B and can’t seem to line up two cabins except on Dolphin Deck. Might speak to Princess today and see if our cruise planner can help. Thanks again. I really did think a premium cabin gave a sofa, but not so on Crown unfortunately. The extended balcony is really not that of a priority for us, even though very nice. So many times lately we have barely been able to use the balcony because of the weather.

Caribe deck balconies are larger (9’x9’) and are half covered & half uncovered however they are balcony cabins & not minisuites. I don’t know if having a larger balcony or a larger cabin is preferred by the author but they are options that could be considered.
On our particular cruise the only ones offered are Dolphin deck where I can actually pick a cabin, not a deck. We need the same cabin as we are doing B2B. We originally booked an AFT premium balcony on Baja deck (booked whilst on board Royal) but now that we are home I have realised Crown Princess balcony cabins do not have sofas so now wondering whether we should go up to a mini. Unfortunately we do need a little protection from the sun for this particular cruise to FNQ. Thanks all for the input.

Sorry to bother again, but D616 on Crown Princess Mini Suite would be balcony be covered or uncovered? Pros and Cons for this mini suite? . Would I be correct in saying that these minis would be quite large I.e. Diamond Princess size vs Majestic Princess size?
Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks all in advance.

I've not sailed on her, but it would appear from doing a bit of research that Dolphin Deck (Deck 9) balconies on Crown are uncovered which is also the case on other grand class Princess ships.
Thanks

Hi all,
Does anyone have any information on Dolphin Deck Mini Suites on Crown Princess? In particular are they covered? The we are looking at is to FNQ so we need some protection. Thanks all.

Just an update to my questions. B755 has become available on one of the cruises.
Is this a better cabin (no obstruction) B753? If so I will transfer to that cabin and waitlist for the other cruise. Thanks in advance once again for all you assistance.

They have ample shade and are larger than regular balconies on Baja, Aloha, Lido, Riviera.Take a close look at the deck plans. Although they are not exactly to scale IMO they do give a fairly accurate idea of the size differences between the aft facing balconies and the many of the port and starboard balconies. Generally speaking the deeper the balcony the more shade. One exception are the Mini's on Dolphin, all the balconies are fully exposed with no overhang. The aft Mini's on Emerald are have ample shade are are a favorite for those who want more space and a couch.IMO the best balconies (excluding Suites) on a Grand class ship are the aft facing and port and starboard on Caribe.YMMV, let us know what you decide and have a great cruise.
Thank you. We will probably stay with B753
Cunard Australia has a a problem with Bigpond addresses

Some bigpond emails addresses (including mine) were blocked on our recent 21 days on Royal Princess. My email on my iPhone still not working. This is extremely annoying and the Telstra shop just can’t do anything.
On Royal the IT guys said it always happens with Telstra.
Strange thing is they didn’t stop everyone’s, husbands worked ok. He could receive but not send, mine just a total block.
