Forgive me for being perhaps "thick" but does that leaflet show that (standard fare) If I have elected to pay for OceanNow, I can have food delivered anywhere on the ship for the whole cruise, or anywhere except for my cabin, for which I will have to pay another $7.50 every time? Or is the $7.50 only if I phone in the order from my cabin?
I can answer this one as we had a standard package in February. I did pay the fee to activate the OceanNow for one of us only and got food delivered anywhere on the ship. We didn’t have room service except for breakfast (free). I understand the $7.50 if for every order. We then paid as we went and felt that was the better option for us at the time. Quite honestly we didn’t need to activate the OceanNow as we really didn’t use it a great deal. Depending on the length of cruise I probably would not activate again for a short cruise. Considering our next is 21 nights we will activate one only! Hope that helps

Yes, I wanted to know exactly what was included in my package and they gave me that. I don't even know if it is correct. It doesn't have a date on it, but you could use it to prove your case if you are charged the difference. Note that there is no difference between the old and the new. I don't know how much I was given, as I always asked when ordering if it was included and I was never charged.
This is excellent. Just hope it hasn’t changed by next week. I have the document saved, thank you. That is all I thought I would be covered for actually, didn’t think anything else. I know the white wine is $14 by the glass, horrible as it is, so I will see what else is available, but I thought the next price was $23.

My app doesn’t even have the right cabin! Not even my old cabin, nor the upgraded, just another random cabin number!

Just noticed on Medallion App it show my drinks price as $15 Hope it is an old listing and not AUD.

I would think if you ask for a kettle for a medical reason they should provide one for you. If you have any issues ask your concierge, especially if you are far from the concierge lounge.
Definitely far from the lounge so will talk to the Concierge. Thank you

Not sure if we have gotten lucky but the last cruise, a little over 5 months ago on the Sapphire & the one we are on right now , the Emerald , we were not charged the $5 .When I ordered lunch over the phone from the Main Dining Room, I asked if they were going to charge the $5 when ordering over the phone. The guy said No, as long as we were only ordering from the Main Dining room menu & not the regular room service menu since we are in a full suite & it’s one of the perks of being in a suite. It sounded like this has been asked before. When we were on the Sapphire I never asked & I figured there would be that $5 charge about 10 times , since that was the sea days. We always order lunch & eat lunches on the balcony. But we never got charged.
Now that sounds sensible, fingers crossed for me.

You can ask your cabin steward for a kettle. There have been reports here that sometimes they will provide one even for cruises not specifically on Oz or European itineraries. The worst they can say is no but, they likely have some onboard and tend to give suite passengers a little more service.
Cheers
We were not in a suite but on Majestic recently definitely no. As you said, they might be a little kinder this time. Thank you.

You can get tea and hot water in the morning using the door hanger no charge
Yes I know that, but my husband has a tonic for IBS that I sometimes need in the middle of the night, that requires hot water and their answer is too ring room service. The kettle in the room for us is a no brainer, so convenient and so many other cruise lines sailing our if Australia have one in the room but that is another story for another day!

If you have Plus or Premier, you will be able to order from room service (MDR) without being charged $5.
If you do not have Plus or Premier, you will be charged $5 for each room serve order placed by phone.
Ocean Now charge of $14.99 is not applicable to room service by phone. Two different charges.
Suites do not have "priority" to order from Room Service by phone.
Thanks this is so confusing. I still think they should have changed the name between old and new. Pity we are getting penalised for booking early too.

The OP has the old Plus package - which does not include room service or Ocean Now delivery. That's only in the new or $60usd/$65Aud package.
Ocean Now delivery can be used for delivery anywhere, including your cabin. However, Ocean Now doesn't have the MDR menus for delivery - it's not coded in separately for those specific suites (the app isn't that sophisticated), so if you're going to order off the MDR menu for room service, you'll have to call - this incurring the $5usd/$7.50aud charge.
Is it lame or cheap that Princess charges a delivery fee for a Suite Perk? Yup.
Definately. We like going to the dining room, but as this is a 21 night cruise, there may be some days we just want to eat in and not dress up. We will just have to pay the $7.50 charge. Another interesting fact is that I would like a kettle. I am told I can’t have one, just order from room service…….that will incur a $7.50 charge for hot water!

Thanks all. We do intend to activate Ocean Now but thought this included room service. I understand if I order by phone it will be $7.50AUD. I cannot believe the confusion between old and new packages. Surely changing the name for new would have been much easier?

Via the app, yes.
Via the phone, I think yes but can't be sure as I didn't test it.
Thanks, as it is a 21 night cruise, I think I will have it sorted out by the end!🤣

Not sure what the old plus package included, wonder if you could call princess and maybe you'd get a correct answer. Hopefully someone that had the experience with it will answer.
Might be a job for Monday!

Your door card for breakfast doesn't incur a charge, true.
Phone and app orders to cabins (including suites) incurs a $7.50 per order charge, unless you use your OBC to activate Ocean Now delivery for one of you.
So if I activate the Ocean Now that includes room service? We will do it for one as we have the $25 added to our cruise summary ( you actually brought this to our attention Geoff some months ago) Thank you!

You can order from the room service menu or, they will bring you a menu from the dinning room and you can order food that's being served in the dining room. You will not get served like in the dining room. The food will be delivered all at once. If you order through the app, the delivery fee is waived with the Plus package. Not sure if it is also waived if ordering through the phone.
Thank you! But how do I order thru a dining room menu if not via by the phone I wonder?

I think you are going off half cocked and there is a miscommunication over a set of T&C that hasn't updated.
We have cruised on an old ($85) premier package. The cap for drink prices was $30, as is the case for the current $95 package.
We didn't get priority seating, fitness classes, Alfredo's, Ocean now delivery, fat desserts in our $85 fare. However, we did get $25 OBC and drinks up to $30.
Your recent email says nothing about changes to drink price caps. Your wine menu shows Plus by-the-glass inclusions. They have one menu, not an old plus menu & a new plus menu.
There is no weasel clause in action, apart from Ocean Now & Prix Fixe charges being imposed to something that was free at the time of booking, as they did a year ago. You are just allowing the inconsistencies of Princess documentation to play on your insecurities. I can assure you that you can drink shitty glasses of wine to the value of $22 on your old plus package.
Hope so Geoff, all will be revealed I guess. As I said recently as long as I can get a drink and not to pay extra, we will be happy. Certainly not worried about extra desserts or extra restaurants.

Thats interesting. Are they turning it into an auction now? I thought your bid was either accepted or not. End of.
Definitely not, it is an auction. In February we were asked to pay an extra $78 for a premium deluxe balcony. We declined but got the premium deluxe balcony anyway.,we are extremely happy with our bid and what we got on this upcoming cruise.

Can someone please tell me if room service is included in the full suite or do I have to pay a fee for all deliveries? If it makes any difference we have an old plus package!

Originally they announced the room service charge would only apply if you phoned Room Service but who knows what they really mean.
How much did you pay for the Plus fare. If it was $65pp per day I think you'll get the lot. It's the $40 and $50 versions that they are restricting.
The thing that really irritates me is that they hiked the drinks prices, to the point of ridiculousness in some cases, when they bought in the first $65 version. That's why they originally allowed all versions to have the new $22 limit.
We have no intention of upgrading our Plus fare as we would be paying an extra $25pp per day for just the higher drinks limit. We aren't interested in all the other rubbish. If we want a drink above the limit we'll just pay the difference. However we will probably try to get a meeting with one of the senior food and beverage people about this plus the fact they still haven't fulfilled their promise of 25 wines by the glass under Plus.
I am just trying to work out what we actually paid. It definitely wasn’t $65. At the time we got extra $300 OBC for taking the plus package. . I think I paid $40, but when I booked I could actually get a nice a Pinot Grigio for $11 certainly not the Willowglen crap they now flog for $14.
our cruise planner some months ago says it would cost another $400 each to upgrade, certainly not for us! First phone call Monday for me!

This is the latest drinks list on Coral at the moment. Two of the red wines are now over the $16 limit - the only two I can drink! 🤬
Anyway I've already budgeted to buy wines by the bottle at the 25% discount you get with Plus. I just hope I can still get my favourite cocktails and after dinner drinks.
On Majestic in February I think most cocktails were under $15 roundabout!

I will be on board in less than 2 weeks, so will be interesting!
OzKiwiJJ when you said you bid for a suite on your world cruise it gave me an idea to put in a bid for our upcoming 21 night Royal Princess cruise. I bid (not overly high) on the cheapest forward facing suite and got an aft facing penthouse! That’s why I am asking whether room service is included. Fingers crossed for you!
Now to sort out the wine problem😩
-
My other question is the $7.50 room service charge applicable to all orders (except breakfast)regardless if you have activated the Ocean New fee? This question is for the old package! What about for Suites?
I just dug out my original paper work and it states the confirmation for the cruise as 20th December 2022 but this is apparently old package?
So many questions now to get answered quickly!
-
I also got this email today so with no mention of drink on the old plus package. in February 2024 the horrible de bortelli SSB was $14 a glass.
Princess appears to have pulled a swifty with Plus/Premier drinks value limits

THanks I did just speak to Princess. Still trying to rectify but won’t be a problem at the Port, we have to right luggage tags though.
