  1. If you are talking about the aft balconies that face the water we did it once .  It was called a suite (forget which ship) the balcony was good size and cabin was small. Yes a long walk every time you left the room.
do not count on trying for an upgrade because those cabins sell like hot cakes. I believe there were the 4 cabins on deck 9-10 & 11. Our little group took 3 of the cabins on deck 9. The view was nice and no soot.

I'm sure that there have been lost items, but I've never read such a report here on the forum, so it is likely a very rare occurrence.  I guess a tag could come off, but then you would likely just have to describe the item and have your Steward retrieve it.  I don't own any expensive clothing, so if something didn't make it back it would be no big deal.

made you kidding me the tag may come off.lol.  I can be home a year or more and those suckers are still hanging on tightly.

I do take a picture of my stack before I send it. Never ever list anything and the fold better than I do at home.

I thought NCL wouldn't allow us to bring those on? Don't they count as a beverage?

I have been bringing them on forever. I leave them setting by the coffee pot . I have even brought them to the dining room. Never been an issue. If you empty all 24 in a cup you still wouldn’t have much of a beverage.

You don't understand.  You don't have to splurge on anything.  At the end of the day (cruise), you pay $125 per CN and can use it as $250 payment on a future cruise.  The OBC that your receive counts as payment towards your CN purchase.

It images me how so few people truly understand CN. If you plan to cruise again it is a real good deal. I gave one to my GD. She could only use one since she book sorta last minute.

  5. Deck 8 hame my favorite deck. Besides being confident to many things,  when going towards the aft you have the option of walking on outside or inside.  My daughter had two of the club balcony with HUGE balconies. They did pick two as close to the start of these cabins as possible.  Never complained about sea sickness.

apples with the peeling helps with that.  Also ginger capsules (dirt cheap at walmart)i use the Dramamine that doesn’t knock you out. I have also found chewy ginger candy .

well since it was the MDR, if you don't like it just get something else.

post covid downgrades are noticeable across all lines; with tens of billions in debt this is somewhat understandable.

Sounds crazy but in 27 cruises i have never sent food away and ask for replacement. Just ate a little and called it a day. Other than the cheap tasting flounder i didnt notice a big difference. Did cut out some old favorites like the lamb in Italian restaurant and replacing it.

I know food is so subjective, but I though it wouldn't hurt to ask.  Last cruise I tried the chicken from the always available side, chicken or eggplant parm, and the flounder.  The only one I enjoyed was the chicken.  The flounder was hard and seemed frozen.  Same thing with the chicken or eggplant.  What should I branch out and try next cruise.  Thank you for your opinions!

I had the flounder onBreakaway march 2020 (last sailing for Breakaway…then covid) it was awesome. So in January 2023 (Breakaway)was so looking forward to it. Well this time it was a thin layer of cardboard . Nothing like it was before. Sorta afraid to try it again.

  8. Sorry to hear you nearly froze to death. I could handle adding bedding. We had a cruise on carnival that we could not stay in our cabin it was so hot. We raised hell at one point and the repairman brought security. So for 7 days we were miserable. Nothing done. It was hard getting dressed for the evening meal and hot and sticky and sweating the whole time.

we never got a sorry or anything like that for a week from hell.  We had a cabin on carnival that flooded. Another story.  I believe we got a 50.00 credit and moved us. Keep in mir i had picked my location and paid for that upgrade only to be given a random cabin.

if we ever had an issue with NCL it was addressed in a very fair way.  Just hope i am not jinxing myself.

I have a question hoping to get some help.  We booked a club balcony suite and 1 of the perks lists being able to book specialty dining at 125 days before our cruise.   When I look at my app it shows not being able to book until 120 days.

Has anyone has this happen to them or will I need to contact NCL directly to book ?

    Thanks.

I am sapphire and mine is doing the same.  When it gets closer to time I plan to call the phone number on there. I don’t see how you can still book if it says too early to book.  If you click on that there is a phone number to call.

  10. Was on breakaway a few months ago and ask for coffee maker.  I actually found the coffee provided ok. Lots of complaints about the dining room coffee. I always had my one cup in a in so didnt try the DR coffee.

All the cabin stewards were busy when we first boarded (luggage ) but i was able to catch mine and ask him to bring coffee pot and remove the stuff from refrigerator.

  11. It was a learning curve for sure. Everyone pretty well books their dinning 120 days before the cruise. Need to be spot on to get the times you want. If you have any changes you take care of that immediately after boarding the ship. I may be wrong but not sure any specialty restaurants take walk ups.

Slightly different question, but 1 platinum travelling solo - I get a voucher for 2 still right? i.e not dining on my own, I can bring another passenger from another cabin who is not plat?

Yes you can bring someone with you. I was in a cabin by myself on last two cruises and did that.

Saw no difference in the quality of coffee on our March Escape cruise, but did see long lines at Starbucks which I found crazy when coffee was free everywhere.

But I m not a fan of Starbucks, strong taste and expensive.

I will mention that on the Escape they had coffee stations set up in the morning on the The Boardwalk for those who were up early and enjoying the outside! Did have to fight the crowds at The Buffet!

    Nice touch!

Pre covid we found the coffee set up on waterfront.  Our cabin was on deck 8 (breakaway)n so very confident. Was on Breakaway in January and did not see it. My daughter couldn’t drink the dining room coffee.  I made my one cup in the cabin and was plenty satisfied with it.

  14. We never receive any specials.i book what i want and every day i check the rates (no matter how far out it is) if rate goes down i notify and get the reduction.

Only plus to waiting to book would be to buy some cruise next to use for the next booking.

I always book far in advance to get my location. Recently last minute i went with daughter and granddaughter. My location was all booked up and prices had gone up.
