  1. Cshgrand, I did the slide with my daughter... she was too tiny on her own. She is a picky eater and a little twig. Of course her father could use his stomach stapled.... so as I went down the slide with her I got stuck. I tried everything to go faster. No luck we kept getting stuck.

But hey, you do what you do to make your girls happy!

Too funny happened to me and my wife with our then 3yo on the brilliance as well. 😃

  2. The nursery is the best. I don't believe on FR they are open night 1 but the rest they are. Go on day 1 early to book times though. It is cheaper during the day than night. I didn't see posted but they do provide (or at least used to) phones when you drop off the kid so if anything comes up they can call. They will feed a bottle if you have one and give some normal food too if desired. They used to also give you a bag with the kids name on it so you can pack anything they might need (bottles, food, diapers, etc)

For us we ate early and took our kid to the nursery before we ate. It was so nice to have an adult meal and know our kid was fed and sleeping early. We would then pick her up about 4 hours later. One note if you can get a cabin on the same side of the ship as the nursery another bonus. We one too many times took a sleeping kid from aft to fwd and that can be a long walk with a sleeping kid.

  3. Sitting on board waiting to go through customs for our b2b and thought this cruise was as good as the others. I agree there are some cutbacks but nothing that ruined anything. They did have quest last night (but didn't attend.) service was great all over the ship but I did notice that there a lot of crew ending their contracts soon so there are folks ready to go. I don't normally pay attention to the CD but only saw him once the entire cruise at the end of the ice show. We didn't attend other shows so maybe that's why but didn't matter. Chops was great and had a server that got us in and out quick wich we like. Mdr was ok the lobsters were good last night. Wish they had the soda machines but maybe some other day.

Now if it would just warm up a bit today.

  4. Not sure what you're sailing but looking at your history looks like it could be the enchantment. If so we booked the monarch once less than 24 hours before hand and was no issues at the port. We did arrive around 1030 and they had to call a supervisor or lookup us on a computer before we could enter but again wasn't any issues (I think it happens often at this port with low last minute sales they have, shh don't tell AG they still offer these😉). As mentioned in the terminal we had to fill out a form that is basically the on line check in. They had the forms at a table before we went to check in. We did those took about an extra 2 minutes then checked in as normal. I agree bring a copy of your invoice as the res # helps. We thought it was going to be a hassle but was no problem.

    Have a great cruise.

  5. We were on the lb last year and the three years before and the prior post is what we remember. It used to be earlier but then last year moved to 8pm. Might be best to do mtd and book a late night 1 and early rest. Btw we loved the nursery on the liberty! When out dd was younger we brought a bottle and they gave it to her but when she was older they brought food in for her. Made dinner so much easier and a few moments of mommy daddy time was nice too. On the liberty they will give you a phone and call you if anything comes up. Nice unless someone with the phone is wearing a rci polo shirt. I can't tell you the number of we people saw me with a phone and asked or assumed I worked there.

  6. My Dad is the same way and really gets his money worth on the soda packages. He asks for two the first time and if they laugh it off my mother says no really. At times he has only received one and had it complete by the time they walked around the two other tables. No problem getting two at once from then on when they notice it will be easier on them going forward.

  7. That is odd about the nursery hours. I wonder if that couple booked a ship excursion. I've always seen them more than happy to take $ to watch the kids even more so if they can get more $ from me on an excursion. Though with how few kids they have I wonder if they knew that and staffed down for the 10 days (not that I know where others would be but maybe training.) I agree with you Jim it does seam strange.

Hope Judith is doing better and enjoy the rest of your trip.

Thanks for letting us all cruise along with you. :) (again RCL why don't you just give this guy free internet I swear you make money after EVERY one of his "live" reports)

  8. I'd be interested to know what you didn't like about the EN? Reason I'm asking is DW and I just debarked from the Freedom this morning and many nights in the past week we said how we are officially done with Freedom class ships. More than once I was regretting booking the Freedom and wished I had done a B2B on EN.

Things that we don't like about the bigger ships is there are so many people it seams as staff are always too busy or put out to help, waiting all the time for an elevator (always seams like much longer than on smaller ships,) the packed crowds all over the place. More of it though is I've always seen so many of the crew look like (and sound like) they are having many bad days in a row. Of course this wasn't everyone but enough.

  9. As mentioned on here by others I had an account then sent an email to their customer service to state I was a D+ now and requested them to update my account. A few days later they did and I validated this on MLIFE's website that I was now platinum in MLIFE. We didn't stay at the Beau but did go there. When we got in I went to the players club to get a new card (just to have the platinum card) and the lady said "oh welcome back, let's see what offers you have." Then gave me a puzzled look and said "you don't have any." I didn't expect to but I did get the point multiplier.

After getting my platinum card I did try to go into that section of the parking garage but my card didn't open the gate.

Here is the surprise. I was with my buddy and we went on a Saturday for the buffet brunch. He had a BOGO but I said "do I have anything on my card?" The lady at the buffet said "oh ok" and took my card charged two buffets, swiped my card, and said enjoy. So it was free and I know I had no where near the amount of comp $ to cover two Saturday buffets.

Looks like you would get more in Vegas but hey if they offer why not.
