  1. We will be on in two weeks so same route! Is the VCL being used as overflow or most people using the coupons? Have you used the free drink coupons any issues? Can you use the BOGO at portofinos on another night as it's no open night 1? Can you let me know what night is fisherman plate (I think I saw it differs because of the route). When are the welcome back parties?

Hope you're having fun and anything you can share would be great!

  2. I like the order in advance idea. Just because it's MTD doesn't mean fast. I have also experienced 90 minutes with no desert. I really wish that the windjammer opened earlier for dinner would do it more. For those that get in an out in less than an hour is that a large ship or small and what time (early late?)

  3. We have seen children in the DL at night on certain ships. Some concierges enforce the no children policy and some allow children if they are with their parents or grandparents.

I've seen recently most of the concierges actually saying that kids are welcome with parents. I have to admit taking ours but as mentioned after dinner and before the kids club opens (if it was open earlier I would place her there first as our DD enjoys that more than the DL.) If there is an extended area we will sit in that area instead of the main lounge when we have our kid with us. Also we make sure she's no louder than others that have been drinking since day1 that might be in the lounge. Haven't been on a ship with vouchers yet so we will see if we change or if the policy changes but I just wish the Adventure Ocean would open earlier than 8pm.

  4. I can see how they actually make money off of this. An empty bar might not attract people like a more full one does. Also people traveling with non memebers might now get the members to buy. Just hope they don't "take the card" in the DL or CL as a pre "getting dressed" drink sounds good. Also some port days when we don't want to change this would be nice. (Then again I have seen many that don't change for the DL).

I agree with others that this might end the DL at least for diamond. They do this for a while then cut out diamond from a lounge and say "well you're not losing that much".

  5. This will make a good story in the DL tomorrow night. It's a bit late but you mentioned you were diamond so I would also let the diamond host know as they are part of guest services. Reading all this I'm actually surprised no one at rci blamed their real bad computer system or website for this but I bet it's part of the issue.

    Have a great cruise!

  6. I used their email to link my accounts. I did run into an issue after turning D+ they congratulated me on Diamond. I had to take a screenshot of my status and email them back. Same day I sent that in I got a response back and now am Platinum in MLife. :)

Not sure if I'll make it back to Vegas but been to MS and why not get the 30% more points.

  7. It's all what you make of it but starting planning on these boards help. It's a different experience but having taken our daughter on 15 or so cruises since 11 months it's a great vacation. We did the freedom when she was still in the nursery and it was great. If I remember correctly not open the first night but the others. The first day you can reserve some times and depending on the number of kids they open more hours later. They are good with ones that have issues being dropped off. They gave us a phone and called if anything came up but our dd would cry for a bit before she got over it. They have cribs / cots in there if the kid gets sleepy before you come back.

They used to also have toys you could check out so that helped reduce packing and you could change them out when the kid get board of them.

As stated rci provides pack and plays (if you want one request it in advance and ask your stateroom attendednt). They normally don't show up until the turndown the first night (so be prepared). Depending on the kid size we did a travel cot and that works real well for us.

I could go on. Have a great time I'm sure you will.

  8. Thanks for the heads up. I gained 4 points. Seams our last cruise they have me double but my wife none though her total is also 4 more than it should be. I have never been able to see our daughters so I sent an email to them about that.

I work with under people some just out of college that unless they can do it online they won't. Their lack of a good website is goin to cost them money. Just picture a 20 something never been on a cruise has some issue because of the so had website and then either cancels or surely never cruises with them again.

As already shown it is also having an impact on the call centers because people are getting angry having to take calls that should be done online. That too is going to lead people to look elsewhere.

Wake up RCI it's 2014 you need a website and mobile tools that work or your going to miss out.

  9. We have taken our 3yo on over 15 cruises since she was 11months and never had to pay for milk. We took her twice on Monarch and with out the nursery it was tough but sounds like you had bad luck. On monarch they had a play time at night but we were able to get toys anytime. I read on here the deal with fisher price ended so maybe that is what happened to the toys.

The more I think of the milk I would send a letter to guest services telling them and see if they will credit you back or at least helps others.

  10. Depends on where you're going to go. When we a trip that has many port stops with lots of walking we bring the small stroller. On quick weekend trips to nassau not so much as we might go that far. I think of it this way I bring it if we are gong to go farther than I want to carry back. Also sometimes as you mentioned it helps to keep them inline when needed (like check points, etc)
