  1. Our actual invitation was received by email, although I did get a phone call in advance to save the date.

I actually think there may be more than one event subject of course to the ships completion on schedule. I would image they would want to host travel partners as well as the many suppliers and contributors to the building process, along with a spattering of regular cruisers :D

Congratulations! May I ask how RCI invite lucky customers; is it by telephone, email or do you receive a invitation through the post?Just curious so I can start dreaming about mine someday..... once I reach Pinnacle :D

  2. Thanks Sam, you know the truth, and thanks to all that understand how loyalty should work both ways. The benefits that people get from their custom should not only be restricted to those stated on the C&A lists. The only reason I have cruised the amount I have, is because on every cruise my custom has been appreciated, and I have always considered that I have enjoyed a value for money cruise experience.

I work hard for my leisure money, over the years I have spent a lot on Wine, Women, and Cruises..........the rest of it I have just wasted

    Great news about the invite!

Royal should show loyalty. I know Chip lived on Allure when it launched for the first month.

  3. Re: The Quantum

I am one of those that have been praising this amazing ship, having sailed on various cruises since launch, however:

Please advise what changes are being made, and during which stages of the repositioning to Shanghai, and how that work will impact on the guests cruise experience ?

I think it unfair that guests have been sold this cruise expecting The Quantum to be as advertised, as all the gossip indicates that will not be the case.

We need to know if we will be financially penalised if we choose to cancel cruises because of works being undertaken on the ship ?

    Thank you

  4. So there actually is NO Nightclub. The Music Hall does feature Live Bands and after that a DJ covers the additional opening hours. But the venue really is more aimed at live music, than a typical style of Royal Caribbean nightclub.

There is also the 270 Venue, which is used as a lounge during the day, a show venue early evening, and then a DJ for the later hours. However It does not have a club feel to it, and was very under used during the early sailings. There is also a DJ that plays in the Bionic bar but with a lounge feel with the music being bibey rather than dance. Hope that helps :D

  5. There is not a small gap, there is a 3 day sailing, which I am booked on.

    .

There is a small gap in itineraries when the ship gets to Singapore, there is every possibility that any major work will be done then.

They must already know what their plans are so I'm unsure why they are keeping so quiet.

I have booked a week on Allure and will book Anthem next year.

Hope you enjoy the Barcelona - Dubai cruise

  6. I have seen various cabins of this style, I think they are fun.

Are they worth it, well that depends on if there is a cost difference, on some ships. On The Quantum, all inside cabins I saw had the feature, so not really a extra cost issue.

They do help to get an idea of the outside weather, prior to venturing out of the cabin on port days.

  7. Yes both did participate, although they stated they are not continuing with the cookbook ( I do not think they have a new one, and have run out of older ones ) although a couple of our tables mates did request one, and got it later on. The Gallery Tour was offered.:)

Thanks so much to you both for posting the pictures and for typing out the menu. It sounds great and we can't wait! We did the Chefs table on the Allure and it was fantastic!

Did the chef and sommelier both participate?

Aside from the welcome glass of champagne and dinner did anything else come along with the dinner? I've heard some folks get cook books or galley tours.

    Thanks again!

  8. Or the alternative of " Learn to Read" if you need information about Bingo, Art Auctions, Trunk Shows, all of that stuff and more is in the Daily Compass, why do we need pointless announcements that constantly interrupt the day or activities that are going on.

Ok, my next question is who bitched so much that they had to change this policy fleet-wide? Invest in earplugs or a noise canceling headset if they bother you so much!
