  1. Definitely. We usually get airfare all day every day DFW to MIA $200/$250 RT. We were shocked to see flights from $459 for our October cruise! YIKES!! We finally bit the bullet last week when we found it for $280 on SW leaving Thursday night instead of Friday. It changed to $301 as we were booking. AARRGGHH!! The hotel was cheaper on Thursday evening so we came out a little bit ahead. Plus we'll have all day in MIA on Friday so WIN WIN!! We still have members of our group holding out for better pricing. I told everyone book when you're comfortable. I have no idea what will happen with airfare. We're so glad Allure is moving to Galveston our home port. The Oasis class ships are the main reason we were still going to FL to cruise. We love that class of ship. Welcome to TX Allure we can't wait to drive 4.5 hours and board you. We will definitely be cruising for the ship!!
  2. I'm planning a group cruise. I want to thank my family and friends for cruising with us. I originally was going to gift each cabin a beach tote bag with a lanyard and luggage tag holders with gum and mints. I'm in the process of ordering these items and realized I wouldn't want another tote bag full of "stuff". I would prefer $25 OBC to spend as I would like on the cruise. If nothing else it would take care of almost two days of gratuity. What say you? Gift tote bag or $25 pp OBC as a Thank you for my guest. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.
  3. You are not alone. We have all felt that way. I've tested 4 times in 8 months. Every single time I'm a nervous wreck. You will be fine. Sending good vibes your way.
  4. I've cruised 4 times since the re-start, September, Christmas, Easter and May. Everything is back to normal. No mask, no segregation of vaccinated and not vaccinated, no wristbands, self serve in the buffets (I must admit I miss the servers serving everyone), jam packed elevators (LOL!), no social distancing, all the tables available in the Windjammer, No scanning in and out of Windjammer, chair hogs are back and everyone seems more relaxed and respects those who want to social distance and wear mask.
  5. #3. I don't have time nor energy for all these gift cards and money back scenarios. I directly deposit $xxx in my savings account from every paycheck. About 10 days b4 final payment I pay it off with my CC and then payoff my CC the next day. Easy Peasy!
  6. I would keep the boardwalk cabin so I could see a partial view of the ocean. I just had my 1st central park cabin. The experience was fine but I did miss the ocean view.
  7. For the most part cruises are back to normal capacity. If you're afraid of crowds cruising on a mass market ship might not be the best option. Try a luxury liner.
  8. Yep, one look at that line for MTD and I headed to the specialty restaurant and purchased the specialty dining pkg. I'm not waiting in line to eat dinner. MTD use to be flawless. I don't know what happened. On My next cruise I made sure to get early dining for peace of mind.
  9. You are going to love Coco Cay! Best beach day ever. We have never spent anything extra at Coco Cay except for an occasional adult beverage. Food included Lounger included Umbrella included Beach access included Pool access included Tea, water, lemonade, flavor water included Waterpark for the little kiddos included The Waterpark for the little kiddos is a game changer for us. They're too small for the big kids water slides anyway so this area is perfect for them. ALL DAY entertainment for them. Great for family cruises. We start at chill island. Have lunch at snack shack. Go to Oasis pool for the party vibe. And we end at south beach for one more funnel cake, beach volleyball and relaxation. We love Coco Cay! A must if we're cruising out of a FL port.
  10. Anybody else experiencing crazy flight prices to FL? My usual October fall flight to MIA is $250ish all day, every day. Right now it's $419. YIKES!! I don't know rather to wait to see if it drops or pull the trigger and purchase it. I checked flying into FLL as well and it's still $400ish. We're definitely paying for the cheap flights we got in 2020 and '21.
  11. Are the showers on Symphony accessible via the gym? Or are the showers connected to the spa and you need to obtain access by the staff? Or are there any showers up there at all? I'm looking at videos on YT and it looks like just restrooms in the gym. We're on the Symphony in October and my bro n law is 6'4" and 350+ lbs with broad wide shoulders. He will not fit in the shower tube. I just want to know if he will have access to gym locker room and can shower at his free will or if the showers are connected to the spa and he will need a key card to gain access. Thanks
  12. Does anyone know what this blank space is on deck 8 on the Vista? I'm looking to book a balcony cabin across from this space and want to make sure I'm not going to regret it. I'm thinking maybe it's the kitchen. Thanks. O and I tried searching and couldn't find anything.
