I don't see why you would 'lose' the existing booking! Just add another! You may want to consider adjoining cabins, if available. A good agent would be able to make suggestions for the best arrangements.

Thank you.  Unfortunately can't do adjoining cabins because the ship is almost sold out.  Daughter doesn't care where she is just as long as she can go.

  2. Currently my 2 sister in laws and I are booked in a balcony room.  Now dear daughter wants to go.  I don't want 4 women in a room.  Will I lose this balcony room if I have to rebook to another balcony for daughter and one sister in law?

I have been getting emails for years now (literally) with offers for "free rooms"  (just port fees and taxes)...well, I have never really looked at any because always thought they were not "free".  But for kicks and giggles yesterday I went on to my account and clicked the email and off to the Carnival site.  I just put in the info just to see if it really was "free".  Well, to my surprise I was able to get a Aft Balcony for "free"...just had to pay the port and taxes, plus I added the gratuities.  I still think it's too good to be true.  I even called to pay for it versus the website to ensure it was! 🙂 Anyone else ever gotten this??? I do spend a lot of time in the casino on the ship and here at home 🙂

Our personal record was an 8:45am flight out of FLL after arriving at the port of Miami.

    But everything aligned perfectly:

    - We were out of our cabin by 6:30am and had all of our luggage with us for self assist.

    - ship was cleared promptly before 7:00am

    - short lines at customs.

    - we requested an Uber. Driver showed up literally in 60 seconds.

    - No traffic that early in the morning on a Sunday.

    - Once in the Uber, I realized that we’d be in FLL by 7:45am, so I got on my phone and listed on the standby list for the earlier flight, checked in and got our mobile boarding passes.

    - At the airport, bypassed the ticket counter and headed straight to security (all of our luggage was carry on)

    - short lines at the security checkpoint

    - We were at the gate by the time boarding started.

    - back home before our original flight was even supposed to depart.

So it’s doable to get on an early flight, including 11:00am. Just make sure that all of your ducks are in a row and have in the back of your head a backup plan of action should you miss your flight.

Thanks for providing such a detailed answer.  Appreciate it!!

  5. My return options from Miami are very limited.  Either I have to book a 7 am flight (not) or a very late flight.  I will be relying on someone to pick me up at the airport and I would hate to have them pick me upso late.  So, can I make an 11 am flight out of Fort Lauderdale from port of Miami?  I am Platinum so I can be the first off the ship.

I imagine that midship is much different than aft or forward on deck 1, you're far enough away from the thrusters you shouldn't hear much.

And of course each deck you go up the less and less chance you'll hear/feel anything at all.

I typically prefer to stay on decks closer to the casino and Lido so I'm less elevator-dependent as well, but when I'm booking last-minute or just want to be on the ship and don't really care where I stay, I'm OK with staying on deck 1.

I like that  "elevator-dependent"  good one!!

Best thing about the Magic imo (or least what sets it apart) is the 2nd casino on deck 4. During the restart they made another non smoking casino under the main one. Its small but rarely ever crowded so you also get drinks there faster. I went Sept 21 & July 22 and as far as i know its still there.

This is so true.  I had the drinks on us offer from the casino and I would go down to deck 4 casino and order and drink and then be on my merry way.  Sometimes less than 6 people in the casino.
