If you definitely will get the 5 pics, the package will save money.  Maybe $25 for 5 pictures?

However, sometimes the photographers are less than great- especially if there are long lines and they are rushing people through.  And, if so, you may be paying a lot for so so pictures, if you don't get a chance to go again.

Maybe wait till after dinner to get your pictures taken so you aren't rushed.  They will take their time then cuz it gives them something to do other than stand around.

  3. 3. I'd love to surprise my wife with a unique and personalized door decoration. Any recommended sights for that?

Go to customcruisewear.com  Angela will work with you to create an awesome door banner to your liking.  The banners are made with durable material.  If you decide to go this route, there is a special section for notes when ordering.  Put in the notes that you would like to modify a certain design and have Angela contact via email before it goes to print.  She is really great to work with.

    She also creates custom t-shirts

You should be able to do Facebook messenger calls, Facetime, maybe google voice, and probably even Skype and Zoom. The key is to be prepared with a few of these options as Carnival's wifi is very temperamental. Wifi calling with your cellular carrier is blocked and does not work on Carnival.

My son was getting Facebook calls on our cruise back in 2021.

My last cruise had a smoke-free casino annex, and I had pretty good luck in there with being able to flag down a server and get drinks in a more timely manner.

Same thing here.  I went to the smoke-free annex and there is hardly anyone there playing slots.  Had no problem getting service.

  6. We were never allowed to switch during the cruise.  The hub app will ask if you wanted to be seated with other people at YTD.  You might end up sitting with another person or a table of people.  And you may end up finding a new friend on your cruise.

Since we had the same room we told our room steward to worry about the others first then do ours.  We went to breakfast then sat read on comfy chairs on lido until it was time to meet where we had champagne and breakfast items.  They took our picture, handed us our new cards, walked as a group off the ship then back on.  Depending on the timing of this they might be starting embarkation.  I went and enjoyed Serenity and hot tub by myself and DH went to sports bar as it was a Sunday.  We had friends who recently did on another cruise and did the same thing of hanging in the hot tubs.  All depends on effectively getting everyone else off because B2B’s I believe are last.

We do the same.  Tell the steward to do ours last.  Also inform your steward that you will be doing a B2B so they don't pack up your stuff and ship it elsewhere.  If you  have assigned dining and like your table, ask the matire'd to assign you to the same table for the second leg of your cruise.

I had a good laugh too! I got an unusual panorama room that has a small window, not really a real oceanview more of an interior. But, not paying to "downgrade" to the COVID floor.

The best upgrade I ever got was 10 years ago to Alaska, from an interior. Carnival wanted $80 to upgrade to a balcony.,

That was a very good deal!

Yes, we did this in December.

    Now the horror story...

Not sure what airline you're coming in on, but we came in on Southwest.  The shuttle meeting point is VERY far from the SW baggage claim, so be prepared if that's your situation.  So we get to the meeting point and there is one person there checking folks in for both ships.  There is supposed to be a separate shuttle for each ship.  Two different color tickets are being given out - one for Spirit and one for Sunrise.

Of the six people in our group, we got three different color tickets.  When we asked about this, the lady told us to basically sit down and shut up we didn't know what we were talking about.  I explained I was worried about getting separated from our group, especially since four of the six are inexperienced travelers and first-time cruisers.  I suggested that maybe she gave out some wrong colored tickets.  I was rudely sent back to sit down.  A few minutes later, we were all called back up to her kiosk where she took all of our tickets and replaced with with six identical ones.

As we were there early, we knew there would be about a 30 minute wait.  But 30 minutes turned into 60, then almost 90 before they called BOTH buses at once.  Only when we got outside did they tell us that one of the buses had broken down so BOTH ships were going on the same bus.  Fine, not a problem.

From there, we were off to the "other side of the airport" to collect more passengers from another terminal or part of the airport.  The place we arrived looked a bit sketchy (like a back alley) and there was a small American Airlines desk there.  The driver and the Carnival rep got off the bus and went to the American desk, closing us in the bus.  And there we sat... for THIRTY MINUTES while literally nothing happened.  We all figured there was a delayed flight arrival and we were paying for it, but after thirty minutes, both the driver and the Carnival lady got BACK on the bus (With no new passengers) and off we went.  We arrived at the terminal late for our check-in appointment.

Now granted, this was probably an anomaly - this was first time we have ever used that shuttle.  But we will never, EVER do it again.  I don't care what the alternatives are or how much they cost.

Other than that, we had a great cruise!

Did you file a report with Carnival or do a review under the shore excursions?

When I took my first b2b I had to change rooms I asked steward if I could just move my bags myself after my new room was vacated. They had no problem with that and I just put my luggage in the new room. It was easy and saved the team the trouble of doing it for me.

Was the cabin steward in your new cabin aware of this?  I will be doing this in Dec and I hope they don't take the luggage thinking I left it behind.

  11. We did the Trikes in Cozumel and hubby loved it!!  The bikes are automatic and anyone can drive them.  The tour guides will take pictures of you along the tour and then post them on their Facebook site.  You also stop at a tequila factory for a demonstration, you get 7 shots to try during the taste testing process and then lunch of fajitas is served.  We bought a bottle of their Amaretto tequila and its not sold anywhere but in Cozumel.  Would do this again in a heartbeat!!

  12. My last few cruises the Carnival staff will direct you to your muster station right away so you can get that out of way.  At the muster station, they will scan your sign and sail card for proof you attended, you sit and watch a 2 minute review of how to put on your life jacket and then you are on your way.  Simple and painless.  If you miss it, they will announce your name over the PA system  and have you report to your muster station.  The ship will not sail until everyone has completed the drill.

  13. DH went up to the bar to get a drink and the bartender told him you had to be on a machine to get a drink.  Then DH told the bartender to send a server over to his machine so he could get a drink.  Within a few minutes there was a server.  I've been reading service in the casino is terrible lately.
