  1. Oh yeah, mine has the key on it now, too! Weird as all get out.
  2. Love this! I see it as an option for my upcoming 7-day sailing on April 1, so I booked it. I'd already paid $223 for internet for two devices so this is a fabulous deal just for that since it gives you unlimited internet for two devices. It does say only available for ages 21 and over. I guess because of the wine options. I am traveling with just my son, who is 15 years old. It gives you the option to reserve for each guest in the cabin, but his name is greyed out since he's underage. I bought it for myself, and I presume they'll allow him to do priority boarding with me, since he's a minor, and then we'll share the internet access. The champagne is all mine of course. I don't really care about doing the lunch or wine pairing. I have the UDP. And while the tour is fine, I can do that without my son in tow if they don't want a teenager on the tour. The laundry service is a nice extra. I have an upcoming Celebrity cruise in July, but this isn't showing up as an option for that ship.
  3. Ah, a teenage boy. I was wondering who was eating such a lunch! I was a little jealous. have a teenage boy myself who eats like that!
  4. I have a decision to make. If I'm gonna blow $500, should I do it on the Unlimited Dining Plan for our 7-day cruise, or spend it on two passes for the day at the CocoCay Beach Club? Both are roughly $500 for two people. Which do you think would bring more joy?
  5. I am not a lounge-by-the-pool type person because I sunburn easily. I've never saved a pool lounger with a beach towel. I have seen the numerous posts where people complain about those who leave towels on chairs to save them for hours. I would never do that. What I want to know is if, on CocoCay, if I do manage to get a nice, shaded beach lounger with an umbrella, can I save it with a beach towel and towel clips/beach bag/open novel/whatever it takes while I go to get lunch or a drink for 15-20 minutes. Is that allowed on CocoCay? Or will I lose the chair?
  6. Of course I nap! Vacations are for luxurious naps.
  7. If you get a beach chair at CocoCay, is it okay to leave your towel on it to "claim" it if you go to get food and plan to come back, or is that forbidden?
  8. I booked UDP, but I also had traditional dining set for early dining. What happens to that time? Will that stay in place in case I choose to go to the MDR one or two nights?
  9. I can't recall when gratuities are added on for RCCL - at the beginning when you pay your cruise in full, or at the end of the cruise once you're on board? I'm trying to determine if OBC is a good thing to have once I'm on board.
  10. Are there gratuities due for housekeeping, etc, that you can use the OBC toward?
  11. Maybe she should have rolled over and cuddled with the invader. That would have taught her.
  12. I suspect they are also close talkers.
  13. Yahoo News posted an article on this: https://www.yahoo.com/news/over-280-sickened-princess-cruise-154112026.html
  14. If the financial outlay you mention for the night in SF includes tickets to an event, you can likely sell those tickets through a third party broker.
  15. The bionic bartender isn't using artificial intelligence, it's simply a robot.
  16. I just booked my cruise 13 days ago and made final payment the same day and my invoice said stateroom obstructed: 0%. I booked a neighborhood balcony guarantee. I received my stateroom assignment yesterday and was given a Central Park balcony. no obstruction.
  17. The "scuba without equipment" excursion (photo attached) is showing as sold out for our upcoming Royal Caribbean cruise. I've seen other Royal Caribbean cruises have a scuba WITH equipment option as well. Our cruise isn't showing that as an option at all. Will it appear later, or is it possible that's not ever going to be offered for our April 1 cruise? My 15-year-old son would like to dive at CocoCay. He's a certified diver.
  18. NCL's is really bad if you try to travel with someone under 21 as the second passenger in your room. You know the Free at Sea isn't really Free - it's clearly a hidden cost built into the cruise fare - and yet the person under 21 doesn't get the benefit of the free drinks. They don't even get the soda package as a substitute. All they get is about $150 of gratuities taken off their bill. We did an NCL cruise as a family of three - myself, my husband and our 15-year-old son in December. Then it worked out since my husband drinks 5-7 drinks a day on a cruise and I wanted 3-4 a day on that cruise for the holidays. But my son and I are cruising alone in April for spring break, and NCL was way too expensive due to the "Free at Sea" package tacked onto the cruise fare. It's not really free. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America...everyone else was $1,500 to $2,000 less for two people in a balcony room because we didn't have to pay for drinks since I decided I'd just pay for mine as I go since I will probably only have one or two a day max without my husband to drink with me.
  19. I think it depends on the type of cruise. We did a 5-day Carnival cruise out of Jacksonville back in 2013 on an older ship and that was a total party cruise and we hated it. We did it because friends begged us to go with them. It was not our style or our crowd. But then we did an 8-day Mediterranean cruise on a brand new Carnival ship (the Vista) out of Barcelona in 2016 and it was absolutely fine. I equate the people on that cruise to the group that was on our NCL cruise over the holidays, minus the kids. It was a complete different type of passenger on a European cruise for Carnival than the typical "hold my beer" type you see on a short, cheap cruise to the Bahamas or Mexico. It wasn't what I presume you'd see on the high-end cruise ships, but it was a very nice group of people who appreciated exploring Rome, Florence, Provence, etc. Not people who just wanted to get in a hot tub with a Miller Lite and leave a pile of used diapers from their kid outside their cabin door. (Yes, that just happened to my friends who took a Carnival cruise to Mexico.)
  20. because I just booked shows on Royal Caribbean and it made me wonder if I'd need to for Celebrity. I'm new to both cruise lines.
