Is Voom the name for Starlink on the ships? I'm asking because I'm looking at the crowdsourced doc and trying to assess whether Harmony has it, without starting a new thread. 🙂

That is going to be an amazing cruise! We did a med cruise in 2016 roundtrip out of Barcelona and went to the ports of Palma de Mallorca and Citivecchia that are also on your list. The island of Palma de Mallorca is gorgeous and a very popular vacation spot for Europeans. We hired an independent tour guide who took us to out-of-the-way places and we were blown away. The port for Rome, Citivecchia, is about an hour away from the city of Rome, and I highly advise doing a tour. The train system is a little confusing and my husband and I couldn't find anyone at the train station who spoke English and even though we left Rome four hours before our ship was due to leave port, we were actually dock runners in the end because of a series of mishaps. We had tried to do the sightseeing on our own, and a tour would have been much, much better, whether with a private company or one through the cruise. We needed more handholding at that port than any other! Regardless, we still loved Rome enough that we went back the very next year for a vacation with our three children and toured Italy for two weeks. Such a gorgeous land. As for Barcelona, you must spend an extra day or two there if you can manage it. It is an amazing city. One of my all-time favorites. Inside La Sagrada Familia with its stained glass windows and the sun shining through, making patterns on the walls, the floors, the stunning architecture, is the most beautiful sight I've ever seen in my life.

I thought I read that Wi-Fi package prices are going up on Celebrity this spring, but I can't find the post. Does anyone recall reading this? We are cruising in July, and I want to make sure I purchase our Wi-Fi at the best price, but also want to wait as long as I can, since Wi-Fi is expensive!

I purchased the internet package for my upcoming cruise. I opted for one device per person on the cruise. I did this because on our recent NCL cruise, we could get one device and the person could switch between them by logging out of their phone, and logging into their laptop. Does it work that way on Royal Caribbean? Or do you have to get two devices per person in order for both people to use their phones and laptops, even if they log out of one and into the other?

We have three sea days and we are going to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and CocoCay. All suggestions welcome. hahahahahaha. I know better than this!!!! I've always had to wait until about 1 pm to 2 pm to get to my cabin, so is it later than that? Harmony of the Seas, so it's Oasis class. Are they doing muster drills in person, taking a long time again? Or is it modified? On NCL in December we just went to one area inside the ship and gave our names and they checked off our names and it took 30 seconds. It wasn't the old way of standing on the deck in life jackets, or even sitting in a big room listening to instructions for 15 minutes. Why do you need reservations for My Time Dining? And in advance? That seems to defeat the purpose of figuring out when you want to go spur of the moment. I'm confused. This is the kind of stuff I need to know. Thank you! This is all great info. I appreciate it! I read about the Veteran's tribute on board. Thank you for your service. That is wonderful to hear Royal offers that to veterans. It's interesting that you will be on the Millennium next. We are doing similar cruise lives. I will be on the Harmony in April and then the next cruise is the Millennium in July. I look forward to hearing what you think of it, since it will be my first time on that ship, too.

I added a kid to one of my sailings, thinking oh, we'll bring a friend for my son, but it added a few hundred dollars in port fees and taxes. How did it only add $50 for you?

My teenage son and I will embark on our first Royal Caribbean cruise in 34 days. I just booked the cruise this week so it's a last minute thing for us and I feel utterly unprepared. We've cruised on Carnival and, most recently in December, Norwegian. But I know every cruise line does things a little differently. What do we need to know before we cruise that Royal does differently than other cruise lines? What should we plan on doing those first hours of the cruise to make our cruise run smoothly? (Reservations for shows, dinners, etc?) I've already checked us in online and we have our boarding passes, so that's good. But what else do I need to know? Thanks so much!

I bought a white dress from Polo Ralph Lauren for a "white out" at my son's school's football event last August - literally just a polo shirt in dress style - but that's probably too casual for white night. When worlds collide...formal night and white night...

Thanks! I liked your Southern Caribbean suggestion, but it wasn't feasible for this cruise. And my husband loves to dive in Bonaire, so he'd be really bummed if we went there without him! 🙂

I picked a cruise that goes to St. Thomas, where we will scuba dive. And St. Maarten, where I bought a resort for a day pass. And CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island, where we'll just hang out at the beach for the day, which will be perfectly fine for my teenager and I'll just drink a Pina colada and read a book. Thanks for everyone's input.

I'll be on Royal Caribbean in five weeks, and I'm interested in booking a Celebrity cruise for summer 2024. I won't be on my next Celebrity cruise until July this year. Would I be able to book the Celebrity cruise while on RCCL and get the benefits of booking while on board such as reduced deposits, etc? Or do I need to wait until I'm on the Millennium in July to book next year's cruise and get those deals?

It's because adults don't want to hang out with 13 year olds. They want their own private spot for peace and quiet. I say that as the mother of a 15-year-old. I will pay extra to not be around his goofy friends on a cruise.
