HI I have bid on Veranda and Aquaclass the Veranda now says expired and I can not change any of my bids. What does this mean? I thought you should be able to change your bids up till 2 days before?

From what I have read and experienced, I believe that means your Aqua bid was likely accepted.

That was my experience last week. My Aqua bid was expired and my SS was still pending however, I wasn't able to modify it. Later that day I received the email confirming the SS offer was accepted and received new eDocs. There were 40-50 open Aqua class cabins open so there is a good chance it was accepted. Others have reported that same experience.

Recommend you keep checking your account, the app and/or your credit card. See you on board three weeks from today.

We booked our second trip to Le Petit Chef at a discounted rate onboard. We had pre-booked the first visit and while we were there, our waiter told us about the different menu later in the cruise and said he could get us reservations for that for $35/person, instead of the listed $55.

Thanks. Did you prefer one menu over the other?

I was looking into this myself, and it appears you can do so once on board for $12 per day. Hubby is mostly a beer drinker, so thinking of leaving him on Classic and moving me to Premium.

We were able to call ahead of our Mar h 13 sailing and upgrade to the premium drink package. Also received discount for elite status. Same for WiFi - able to upgrade ahead of sailing with discount.

  4. We haven't been on the Equinox yet (March 13th here we come) however, we have sailed the Solstice three times and two were in Alaska.

One thing we rave about from our Alaska cruises was the Naturalist. He was amazing. He hosted several talks about whales, bears, eagles, Alaska, etc. His name is Brent Nixon.

We would definitely recommend an Alaska cruise with him on it. Not sure if he is still doing them but if he is it is worth it.

  5. We ordered from eMed on Thursday Jan 20th. Our online account still said pending and no tracking info was available. We received the order on Tuesday January 25. Our account still said pending with no tracking info.

This morning we received two emails stating that our order had shipped and provided the tracking numbers.

The expiration date for our order is Jan 3, 2023.

It seems like they have them in stock and generally ship them reasonably quickly however, they seem to have a backlog of updating accounts.

Our cruises aren't until March and April so we're happy to have them in house and ready to use when the time comes.

  6. We love catamarans. As a result of having two hulls they tend to be calmer than single hull ships. Of course the conditions on any given day can and will vary. They also generally don't go as fast as speed boats.

Of course it is something you have to decide for yourself. My BIL gets sea sick often however, has done well on cruise ships and almost all of the catamarans we have been on.

  7. Something is confusing. This is in their FAQ:

Due to the extraordinary high volume of cancellations, pandemic uncertainties as well as travel and cruise restrictions, all cancelled tours from May 1, 2020 and onward, will have their deposit credited towards a future tour booking with Spencer Ambrose Tours.  There is no deadline on when to book and this credit can be applied at any time.

We sincerely apologize that until this pandemic resides and tours are able to fully resume, we are unable to offer refunds.  We appreciate your understanding as we work together through these challenging and unprecedented times.

We look forward to offering our guests a fun and exciting day of adventure.  Take good care of yourselves and stay safe.

We've stayed in St. Lucia at Sandals on many occasions, as well as having stopped on cruises multiple times. I too would recommend visiting the Pitons, but I'd strongly suggest that you consider taking your excursion with Spencer Ambrose Tours. http://spencerambrose.com/  I've booked with him a couple of times, and I think that they do a wonderful job. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again next time we visit St. Lucia.

Reviews on Spencer Ambrose have been mixed lately. One aspect of his tours that I read on their website, and others have had issues with, was that you pay with PayPal online prior to the booking and there are NO REFUNDS if you can't make it even if your ship doesn't dock or you can only do ship tours. They issue a future tour credit however, that may not be practical since you're on a cruise rather than stauing a week in a resort on the island. Since you pay via PayPal rather than a credit card you may not have the same options to challenges the lack of refund.

My husband and I disembarked from the Equinox on Friday, January 21. My husband tested positive onboard requiring quarantine, I was able to stay in our cabin in concierge, however he was moved to a cabin on deck 6, his cabin number was in the 6200 area, the COVID cabins are aft on deck 6. I would be concerned with the cabins nearby and on deck 7 above. The medical team took good care of him and Celebrity offered free internet, movies and calls to the U.S., it still was boring however. The biggest complaint he had was with the room service menu and food - very bland and it arrived in a box which turned to soil after 90 days, he had to laugh that he was eating off dirt! I spoke with the dining room maitre d who did send him some better food but after several days in isolation he had understandably lost his appetite. Celebrity had a well thought out protocols for dealing with the virus, however neither of us is anxious to cruise again in the near future.

Hope he is fully recovered and feeling better soon if not already.  Thanks for sharing your experience.

Could you have brought him food or drinks and left them at the door or was that prohibited?

Newer to Celebrity.  Cruised once many years ago on Celebrity but mostly do Princess or Carnival as they sail from Los Angeles most often.

Pricing a 7 night on Millennium in November 2022.

Should a Concierge Class balcony be less than a regular balcony?
    This seems strange to me..

I am trying to understand the different price levels and it seems concierge gives you much more than a regular balcony but the pricing now is less

    Is this correct?

In my experience Concierge Class is usually more expensive than a regular veranda. Depending on the sailing and availability it could be the other way around however, not likely.

Thanks. I placed my order for March and April cruises based on this thread. Rather than waiting and risking they’d be sold out. Hopefully ours will arrive reasonably soon.

We would have preferred another shipping option than 2 day FedEx which we didn’t need.

  12. Depending on which rental car company you use there may be a closer place to drop off your rental car. For example Budget has an office very near the cruise port. You drop your car off there and they have a shuttle to take you to your ship. I believe a couple of other rental car companies do the same.

May not be an option for you this time if you have a different reservation but something to consider.

I am sure they mean knowingly in contact and also they probably define "contact" as within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes without masks on. I believe that is still the CDC definition, despite evidence that Omicron is more transmissible, so the old definition may no longer be very accurate.

I have definitely not been in "contact" with anyone with Omicron by that definition in the past 14 days. The only person I have had that level of contact with is my husband, as we have been self-isolating. Of course, with flying to FL and staying in a hotel tonight, we might get that level of contact with people who aren't wearing their masks properly.

    Have a great cruise.

Maybe that is location dependent. During our Solstice 2019 New Zealand sailing, we had to take the four pieces that we made.

Regret that I wasn’t more clear. On the ship you can take it with you. If you go to the Hot Gkass studio in Ft Lauderdale before a cruise you generally can’t take it with you. I believe it is baked after you make it and takes time.

If you are in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of days pre or post cruise you can go to Hollywood Hot Glass operation and do the same type of experience at a cost less than on the ship.

This is a great experience and they mail your item home for you since you can't take it with you. It is a great thing to do pre-cruise.
