  1. I can’t speak for other’s experiences. We did not have to provide any additional deposit pending the FCC posting in an estimated 30-45 days. The new cruise is far out so they may have been a factor. We also spoke to a Celebrity rep directly and didn’t use a TA.

We have a booking for a cruise departing Feb 13. We are considering canceling and using the FCC for a Mediterranean cruise in May 2022. If we do this, do we have to cancel, then wait for the FCC before we can book the new cruise (read that can take weeks) or is there an option to simple change a sailing (and pay the difference).

Has anyone gone through the cancellation and rebooking process?

We just did this. You can rebook when you cancel. Once the FCC comes through they can apply it to the new booking. We called to do this and it was super easy to do.

Wattsde, are you scheduled for this cruise?

We are pretty determined to go on the 12 night this Sunday, 1/9/21…

After all of the posts and drama last week, it would be helpful to get some real time reports from anyone currently on the Equinox now…. Here’s hoping…

Hi, we’re with you hoping your cruise proceeds as scheduled. Please post any updates on the ship and ports. We’re not scheduled for this itinerary until March but trying to finalize plans for the ports as well as have back ups for any port changes.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure which cruise you are on and where you will be arriving from, but for the Caribbean and Mexican Cruises, where is where all of the ship are for the winter  - No test is required to return to the U.S. Ports on Celebrity.

The test for returning from an foreign country testing is only applicable to Air Travel.

For B2B guest they need to be tested a day before turn around day.   These tests are done by a contractor on board and results are delivered to your room the evening you are tested.   They are also doing tests for passengers returning home to a foreign country that requires testing prior to their flight.   Currently these test are done at Celebrity Expense, but this has recently been modified to bookings after Nov 18 (I think that's the date)

    Thanks.

We are on the Equinox in the Caribbean in March.

I didn’t realize the requirement only applied to flying in and not to cruising.

    Appreciate the response.

  5. Regrets if this is addressed elsewhere. I couldn’t find it if it has been.

I see plenty of info on COVID testing pre-cruise however, as I understand it a negative test result is required when returning to the US from international trips.

Is that required when returning from a cruise with international ports?

Do they offer testing on the ship? If not, what are the options?

Also, who and where are the results verified?

When we’ve flown back from international trips the airlines have verified negative test results however, this is different.

Appreciate insight into the requirements and process.

  6. Where in the post did the OP ever say she wasn’t a veteran? It might be an assumption but never actually stated.

Both my wife and I are retired and neither of us feel disrespected or cheated out of anything.  No stealing seems to have occurred.

Happy Veterans Day to all that served and their supportive families (not dependent)

  7. I was shocked when I checked my Bank Of America RCI Credit Card account and saw that we had already recevied our refund for our May 27 Explorer Cruise.

We cancelled and requested the refund on April 26th after spending a week or so considering if we should take the FCC or request a refund after the announcement that our cruise was cancelled. This was a graduation present for our daughter who graduated college on May 16. It was a once in a lifetime cruise for us. We searched for a replacement

cruise and when we couldn't fimd anything that worked we decided to cancel and request the refund.

We've read so may posts about people not receiving refunds for March and April cruises that we were sure it would take 45-60 days or more for our refund.

We had already cancelled all of the extras before the cruise was officially cancelld and received that refund within a couple of weeks.

We haven't compared all the charges to verify if we received everything we paid for or not.

We had used a could of gift/debit cards for some of it so not sure if we got that back yet or not.

Assume that the RCI insurance we purchased is forfeited too but not sure until we compare the numbers.

  8. I don’t know what authority we can quote on this but the first come first serve option described seems exceptionally odd particularly for cruises that plan every detail.

it would seem like the ship would need to know if it were going to dock or tender. Are the cozt of docking and tendering the same?

It seems like tendering boats back and forth for 10-12 hours would cost more than sitting in the dock and the ships would race to get their first.

I’ll see in May when we’re supposed to be the first ship to arrive but we’re scheduled to tender.

My research has led me to believe that there are 4 ships in port that day:  Explorer of the Seas, Axamara Journey, MSC Sinfonia, MSC Opera and that the Azamara ship has reserved the Dock.

When the port agent for a ship makes arrangements for the ship to be in port they reserve a specific dock (or tender) space so the captain knows where to go and can make the necessary arrangements for debarkation (port, starboard, tenders, etc).

    Steve

What site are you using? I have used CruiseTT in the past however, it doesn't seem to be updated.

  10. I've been trying to schedule tours with The Travel Insiders for our port stops in Greece.

We're having a hard time hearing back from them. I suspect that they might be on holiday however, I'm not sure.

They come very highly recommended and we'd like to book with them.

We'd appreciate feedback from others who have booked with them as well as recommendations for other tour operators if they continue to be non-responsive.

We'll be in Santorini, Mykonos and Athens on the Explorer of the Seas in May.

    Thanks
