  1. Few posts discuss what the infinite verandahs look like from the outside.
  2. I find they work fine to locate your partner if you wake on different schedules. As a constant form of communication, they're a bit annoying to others, particularly CruiseCritic members..
  3. I wouldn’t promote. I’d invite. And I wouldn’t reserve a lounge. I’d sit at a table.
  4. If I pack chips will Celebrity let me host low stakes poker games on board Celebrity Beyond? Would be fun to have 8-9 players in a lounge and not in the casino.
  5. Yes, Same issue. I called and paid on the phone.
  6. More room on the retreat Deck for me.
  7. I also think we have no clue what the conversations are like behind the scenes. im sure every department has been asked to cut expenses and find ways to increase revenues.
  8. I think these times are different. Cruise lines are trying to survive. Some have already gone bankrupt.
  9. Honestly, With all the added costs Celebrity has had to absorb in the past few years including sick pay, quarantine expenses, fuel, higher labor costs, higher supply costs, etc etc etc, in addition to lower occupancies, refunds for covid cases, etc etc etc, it's really not surprissing they're trying to increase revenues wherever they can. I expect to see more and more of this and I understand it.
  10. Don't you pay extra to have food delivered by instacart, DoorDash, UberEats or GrubHub? I'm surprised they didn't do this sooner.
  11. To each his/her own. I'll sit on my balcony and have a cocktail and enjoy the view while my wife is getting ready. Then, as soon as she gives the word she's ready to go, we leave the cabin, have another cocktail at a bar, then enjoy the food and service in the dining room for dinner.
  12. I'll eat dinner in the dining room. Thanks. Why would I want to go on a cruise and eat dinner in my sky suite? Unless I was sick and had no choice.
  13. I want 3 North American cold water lobsters at my dinner on the last chic night on Beyond. Lobster 1: Steamed and served with drawn butter Lobster 2: Stuffed with real crabmeat, grilled, and smothered in shrimp scampi. Lobster 3: Removed from the shell, cut into large chunks and sauteed with garlic, herbs, butter and sherry, then flambéed and served over linguini. A side of french fries would do.
  14. The amount of real estate on board the ship which you can call your own, for the length of the cruise. You get more space.
  15. I'm going out on a limb here and will state there are very few people (passengers as well as cruise staff) who prefer tendering to docking at a port. But I think it's an obvious statement that docking, which would be preferred by all, isn't always possible at a port of call, and tendering is necessary. Tendering is a trade-off for including some ports in an itinerary, whether planned in advance, or an alternative for pre-arranged docking, if this isn't possible for whatever reason. You certainly have the option of not getting off the ship.
  16. Haha. True. unless you don’t believe the app saying your bags are in Barcelona when you’re in Chicago
  17. What would you do if you were sitting on the plane and the tag showed your bag somewhere else, besides the belly of the beast? Personally, I would have the worst flight ever, knowing my luggage was somewhere else.
  18. 1. Yes 2. there are other more expensive ways to track something's whereabouts. I see them on every James Bond movie when they track someone in the trunk of a car then on a plane to a remote island. I think these devices cost more than $24.99 each though.
  19. Tracking lost luggage with an app is great but not losing the luggage in the first place is greater.
  20. Personally I have mixed feelings. I want all my fellow passengers to test before boarding to minimize Covid on board, but I don’t want to test and discover I can’t board my cruise.
  21. I don't think the MDRs are reserved since you cant make reservations for MDRs.
  22. I usually pack 2 bank bundles of singles ($100 each pack) and 50 five dollar bills. That's generally more than enough for a 7-10 day cruise for tips.
