  1. I really hope either Bermuda changes their rules again, or Celebrity decides Bermuda is too much of a hassle and cancels the port stop there.
  2. Actually, it's nothing like being pregnant. Testing positive is a function of how much viral load you have in your rapid test sample at any given time. You could have a very low viral load and not enough at that moment to test positive. You could also be "on the way up" with the virus or "on the way down. Many people don't have any symptoms and don't even know they have Covid. Pregnant is a yes or a no.
  3. Send a letter along with a receipt for the suit to Celebrity customer service
  4. Fairly mild the fist time and fairly mild so far.
  5. I just got rebound Covid today from Paxlovid. I got Covid 12 days ago and took Paxlovid until Sunday. I got better and tested negative Monday morning. Last night I had cold symptoms which I woke with and tested positive this morning. Thankfully my cruise isn’t until October. No more Paxlovid for me. I’ve read my immunity didn’t fully kick in and whatever Covid may have been left behind reinfected me. I’m double vaxxed and double boosted. Fortunately I’m not that sick.
  6. I think that depends on your itinerary. I’m going to Bermuda and I’m pretty sure I need to show results from a proctored test.
  7. The gift ship is like a hotel minibar. There’s a captive audience buying on impulse and the prices are high. Pack your essentials and your impulses if you want to save some money. I assume you’re allowed to pack candy in your suitcases.
  8. Some say Bermuda is doing these special processes for a money grab of $40 per passenger. Others say it’s just to protect their residents on a small island from disease from swarms of tourists. Doesn’t the Bermuda cruise season end in November anyway for the winter? They’ll have until March/April to decide if they want to relax the rules further.
  9. I like the idea of a practice test before doing the proctored test. A negative result will give me more peace of mind and less stress. I work in Manhattan where there are testing vans on every corner. can I go to one of the LabQ vans and get tested the day before the cruise and use the email results they send me to board? Or does it have to be a testing site on a celebrity list ?
  10. Not completely true... The wording of the August 22nd Bermuda rules says that Vaxed passengers must be tested 2 days prior to arrival as opposed to 2 days prior to embarkation... We shall see if it's updated.
  11. It seems these rules are being modified every 60 days anyway in Bermuda. They have time to make adjustments before the transatlantic and repositioning cruises from all the cruise lines.
  12. There are a few things that are confusing. The requirements make it sound like you have to test if you’re unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated and you want to.get off in port. Does this mean if you are fully vaccinated you don’t have to test If you’re staying on the ship? Who knows? Im misreading this whole thing.
  13. I am the OP. I am on the 9 night Celebrity Beyond repositioning cruise out of Bayonne New Jersey on October 26. Stops in Bermuda, Aruba and Curaçao. Debarking in Fort Lauderdale.
  14. Sometimes they add capacity for excursions but who knows post-Covid. The old rules aren’t in effect anymore
  15. How can they mandate passengers who have fully paid for their cruises now go out and purchase additional travel insurance or their trip is cancelled?
  16. I wouldn’t be surprised if Celebrity cancels stops in Bermuda. These new rules are a pain in the butt.
  17. 18. I’m from Ny and could buy insurance after booking from other sites. I know because I investigated it.
  19. I'm not sure I believe this. I think most tipped crew want money first and foremost. But, there's nothing stopping anyone from giving cash AND positive reviews. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
  20. I suspect my retirement will be spent in a SubZero refrigerator box on a street corner because I'm spending all our money while I'm earning it on vacations, dinners out, bourbon, and casino trips (which includes all 3 things previously mentioned). Enjoy what you have! You only live once. (supposedly) Party like it's 2019
